I hope we get to meet the Council of Elders soon.
Kiryu - Ayame's House - Ayame, Umiko, Vosswald, Alessia

Kiryu let out a long sigh before turning away, defeated. The girl was no doubt set on them going to do... whatever it was. The elders of the village must have been desperate about something if they were hiring warriors. The ronin felt they received few swordsmen here, judging from the whispers. But that desperation meant it'd be easy to haggle a meal in exchange for some bodyguard work. It'd been a while since he'd done much of anything, for that matter.
"I'm off then" he gave a short wave before sauntering off, shirtless, towards the center of town.
"I'm ou-" Kiryu started to say, only to be cut off by a loud rumbling noise. The girl was being taken away for food, and even a bath. No doubt he could get something too. He's gone all the way for the girl, after all. Also, she still had his only shirt.

The ronin decided to follow close after the miko. Demons or no, he had no intention of starving to death or freezing to death in the rain.
Hey Myst. I didn't use names, so I don't know if it was clear, but I was trying to strike up conversation with Ayame in my last post.
You didn't post anything while you were online, so I wanted to make sure you knew.
"I'm sure mikos meet a lot of town members." Kiryu stated to himself as he approached the girl with the basket. It was up to him to find this girl's parents, probably. Or at least a place to get her off his back. "Oy. You know this girl?" he asked, pointing to Umiko with his thumb. "I found her naked and crying while hugging that dead fish on the riverside. Thought she might be one of yours."
The foreign man gave a short salute, prompting Kiryu to believe he was harmless. All was well as he led the walk. Fortunately for him, there was in fact a village. It seemed to be in proper order. There were huts and a well, a few depressed, scared looking people, and even a Miko with a basket coming up. Just the kind where a girl would have to keep a pet fish for company. And that fish-girl had parents here. Unless she was an orphan, he mused. "But on the other hand, she never said she was... but she never had clothes, either." he muttered to himself.
"It's settled then." Kiryu said, placing his sword over his shoulder. "The village is upstream. Probably. It's where I've been walking, at least."
He turned, only to face some man with an odd face and clothes. Everything about him, even his sword looked... foreign.

"Good evening." he slowly said, raising his palm in greeting, taking a few scuttling steps upstream.
"Wait, I was half right." Kiryu corrected himself, snapping his fingers. "She was crying because she's embarrassed. Here." he removed his upper shirt. It was gray, had a melon sized hole in the back, and reeked of sweat. "You can cover yourself up with this."
Looking at Alessia, he asked, "I think there's a village up the river. Maybe her parents live there?"
Maybe I will now that the site's not bugging out.
"Oh my god I know what happened." Kiryu pinched the bridge of his nose before turning to the woman next to him. "That girl's pet fish died. We should do something about it. Look at her, she's crying too hard to speak.... and she smells like urine." he squinted, rubbing his chin. "That's odd."
