Personality: Tai is a blank slate, wiped clean with bleach and thrown in the river. He loves nothing, hates nothing, and feels for nothing. In other words, he’s the perfect soldier. His life is sworn to protecting the Rain, and that is all he is. There is nothing he will not, or hasn’t already done, for the Rain. Though he doesn’t love or like anything, he acts kind and overly gentle towards people of Amegakure, being careful to keep himself from burning them.

He is also superstitious, believing that the sun hates him. He doesn’t like doing assignments on sunny days because he sees it as a bad omen. But when it’s raining, he sees that as a sign that the Rain is with him, pushing his actions, guaranteeing him success.

In battle, Tai either stands in one spot and annihilates his targets from a distance, or he gets close and burns them to ash. Which he chooses really depends on how much time he has to spend on his target.

History: The Munashii have always had a special relationship with fire. They sacrifice livestock to the flames, and in return, fire does not burn them. At the age of five, every Munashii child undergoes a ceremony, a birth of fire. The child is thrown into a fiery pit and left there for five days. If the child dies, they were unworthy. If the fire goes out, they are exiled from the clan. But if they live, they are celebrated. The clan has all but disbanded in recent years because parents of the children refuse the ceremony.

When the clan leaders checked on Taiyou after five days, the fire in his pit had gone out. Instead, it was the boy that was on fire, radiating heat hot enough to have melted the bottom of the pit and crack the bricks lining the inside of the building. He had passed. The test was supposed to force the children to give their chakra to the flame to keep it alive and from burning them, but Taiyou had gone beyond that. The flames fed him, made him strong. The flames couldn’t have burned his skin, for the flames were his own.

Tai spent only long enough for the next Chunin Exams to come around as a Genin, and even less as a Chunin. His prowess with fire release, and more importantly, his unwavering loyalty to his village, is what got him singled out to join the Amegakure elite ANBU.

Personality: Rei makes friends easily, like really easily. She’s never once met a person who she didn’t like, and she’s never met a person who didn’t like her back. Rei is excitable and bubbly, but also can be quite shy around people that look scary. She very much judges books be their covers. To her, if a person looks “pretty” (she calls males and females pretty) then they must be good. Her favorite hobby is making up stories about people she sees, even if they can hear her, especially if they can hear her. She really doesn’t care about consequences, and there isn’t a punishment she can’t either make into a game or avoid entirely. Her unapologetic nature carries over to when she’s in a fight, never taking anything seriously, always dancing around and acting like everything’s a game.

History: Rei’s parents run a flower shop in Konohagakure, Yamanaka Flowers. Most of the customers that came through the doors really only came to see little Rei, and more specifically, what antics she was getting away with that day. It probably helped sales that she gave out free hugs to anyone who left with flowers, and usually to those who didn’t. Rei’s mother likes dressing her up as if she’s a doll, and she’s also the one who bought Rei the gigantic hat that has become a permanent part of her attire.

Rei became proficient in the Yamanaka clan’s basic technique early on, and most of her childhood was spent trying to shoot her mind into various people and things. She got yelled at a lot after people found out they’d been possessed. It was during these experiments that she created her signature custom technique. Her parents saw her as ready, so they put her through the academy, and now Rei’s a Genin. Her parents really just needed the break of her being out of the house for a few hours a day. She’s a real handful.
