Zombie Apocalypse: Until We Fall

The date is September 21st, 2016. The world as you know it is completely average and boring - with the exact same jobs and types of people you'd see in our world. However, in the past seven months, reports have hinted towards something no one in Ashton, Colorado, or anyone in the world, would have expected. An epidemic. An infection, that turns the corpses of fallen men and women into lumbering, flesh-hungry husks. Whether or not the reports prove true seems too early to determine, but the news and social media buzz with the threat of a virus and the potential pandemic brewing in remote areas of the world. So-called experts span the news channels, attention-starved parasites stuffing the audience with fear before devouring them. Is it really anything to be worried about, however? There has been no pictured proof, no official, government-sponsored warnings or notices. Ashton is the same city it has always been, no walking corpses as far as the eye could see. A carnival was recently held here, in the downtown plaza. A murder was discovered in the more...urban parts of the city, and the Mayor has recently turned in his hat, given to a younger, more charismatic man. Life seemed to be normal...Too normal, in fact. Fear of the unknown lurks in the hearts of every man and woman, hidden under the guise of a normal life being lived. It would only take one spark to light the fire. Only one bite to start the chaos.

Rules:
1. Don't be a dick, or an elitist prick. We're all here to have fun and make a story together.
2. At the same time, we have standards. Keep up decent grammar and posts more than one paragraph, and we'll be cool.
3. Military types, no. Battle-hardened warrior types, no. More on this topic is in Notes.
4. To add onto that ^^, no auto-hits, godmodding, meta-gaming, or any of that stuff. I'm sure you guys know what I mean.

Notes

Little important tidbits of information.

- Make sure to post your CS in the OOC first, and then into the Character tab once/if accepted.

- We will most-likely not be taking any military characters. Sorry. Maybe if the CS is reaaally good.

- When the RP starts, we will all be regular civilians, not battle-hardened zombie killers. Be realistic.

- I will eventually try to herd everyone into a singular area. Please do not resist the herd. Mooo.

- Ashton, Colorado is pretty cool. It's a pretty big, urban place, sort of like your stereotypical bustling city, with different types of neighborhoods. Ashton, the city, is made up, by the way.

- Let's not have a shotgun or katana randomly chilling in the bed of our truck, ye?

- Make sure to put your CS in a hider, and label the hider the first and last name of your character.

Cool, this is a lot more than what I was anticipating, but I doubt that it'd get bloated. I have to head out now, but the OOC is underway. It should be finished in an hour or two.

Zombie Apocalypse, anyone?

Yo. So, after recently reading a bunch of stuff, I've decided that I am in a zombie-esque mood. I'll keep this interest check relatively brief. Would anyone be interested in an apocalypse role-play where we start from the absolute beginning of the epidemic? I guess it would start off as a sort of slice-of-life-like role-play, with the threats and rumors of the epidemic blossoming in more remote areas of the world, and then, sooner rather than later, the epidemic shows up in our city. That's the gist of what I'm going for, at least. I think it would be interesting to see how regular people, not yet hardened by months of zombie survival, react to their world changing at a fast rate. Hopefully we can avoid the zombie-killer extraordinary badass military-types.

Personality
Jason is very rebellious towards authority figures in general, but laid-back, if not sarcastic and rude to anyone else. Living on the edge of society and caught between the phase of being an alien and being super, he feels like an outcast. Young and dangerous, in addition to a quick wit and a black humor, he is disaffected and disassociated with society, and quite apathetic. He has no fear, and no respect for authority, especially not the corrupted authority that runs the world in which everyone lives, and this lack of respect has also bled onto heroes. He has no qualms with engaging in debauchery and other hedonistic acts, mostly because he believes he won't be around for too much longer, because of the trouble that seems to follow him. However, Jason has a heart beneath all of this rough exterior. He purposely choose to live out his life his own way because his eyes were opened to evil as a child, especially when the people who were supposed to take care of him turned out to be monsters in disguise. He decided to take a stand and fight back, no matter what happens. That is his heroic trait.

Skills

Powers
Jason is what you would call a 'Shapeshifter', although not in the usual definition of the term. As a being that isn't human, but some form of alien, he doesn't possess the same limits a normal human has. He possesses superhuman attributes, such as strength, speed, mental acuity, reflexes, durability, and regeneration. Although the upper limits hasn't been tested, due to him not exactly needing to test it, Jason has shown to be able to move faster than the normal human eye can keep up with, and he has busted through pure stone and concrete with his bare fists and feet, along with lifting up larger vehicles with no sign of stress. As far as the 'Shapeshifting' aspect goes, it is a tad different. Instead of shifting into animals, Jason has the ability to shift and mutate his body into different shapes and forms, as long as he has a vague idea of what he wants his body to take the form of. For instance, Jason can transform his hands into two large, steel blades, or he can form spiky, leathery wings from his shoulderblades. This makes him very versatile and dangerous in combat.
