I've posted although it hasn't said I have the latest post for whatever reason. I kept it short so that Dizzy doesn't have too much to catch up on.
Revaz

Watching from the cover of a small stand of trees she saw Henry and his companion ride as if hell was on their heels; as it was for over two score enemy cavalry wearing bright blue uniforms with golden tassles were barely fifteen foot behind them with sabres drawn and howling war cries and jeers at the pair. Tempted to just watch, Revaz waited until the last possible moment before ordering her cavalrymen forwards. They were all handpicked from experienced horsemen from Helgland; she did not trust the skills of foreigners for her plan to succeed.

They burst from the woodland at once, drawing bows and noching an arrows before loosing as one in between strides so that their shots flew straight and true. Cries of pain sounded from men and beast alike as the first rank of enemy horsemen fell in a tumble causing those behind them to trip and fall or else rein sharply in to avoid the tumult of jittering bodies. Signalling quickly Revaz ordered her small party back as the larger part of the enemy horsemen, not far behind the vangard who had been chasing Henry and Caroline, turned towards her group and kicked their heels back. They retreated, releasing a bombardment of arrows behind them at their pursuers to maintain the gap between them before they entered the woodland proper. Stacks of kindling were laid next to some of the trees and the few mages in her group set about lighting them while wind mages fanned the flames.

Their group scattered into preset groups, out of the wood while the enemy cavalry charged in to soon be surrounded by flames. Few paths were still safe and many were trapped in the inferno. Those who escaped were shot down by the waiting horse archers surrounding the woodland. With grim satisfaction Revaz cut the enemy down with ease; why did the Elianst cowards fear these enemies so? All men died so easily.
Henry

Arriving at the barricade safely, Henry helped Caroline down. It was only then he noticed her injury and yelled for a healer.

"Stay away from the fighting until you've recovered." He told her before joining the others at the barricade. Gwen was there and he patted her on the shoulder as he passed, giving reassurances to those who looked nervous standing with bows at the ready. Before long the sound of marching feet on the ground had all their attention riveted on the road as a dark blue line marched towards them. As it approached individual men could be made out, all wearing the same uniform of dark blue leggings and coat with black boots and a cream shirt. All of the men had their hair tied back tightly and held a strange weapon cupped in their right hand so that its other end was balanced against their shoulder.

"What the hell are those?" Someone muttered nearby. Before long the enemy were within bow range and a hail of arrows cut into their front ranks. The enemy died but then walked over their dead, dragging new men into formation without missing a beat; their discipline awe inspiring. Despite the constant barrage, however, they came closer and closer to the barricade until they were under fifty feet away and stopped. With a sinking feeling Henry grabbed the nearest person and pushed them down behind one of the barrels making up the barricade before ducking himself. The front line of enemies shifted their weapons down and then the end previously cupped in their hand came up their shoulders in one smooth motion. The other end pointed at the barricade. Unclear orders were yelled and a ripple of cracks followed by a hail of metal on the barricade and its defenders came.

Unfortunates too slow to take cover were struck and fell back clutching at wounds and the first screams of pain sounded. Henry risked a look over the barricade but ducked as he saw that the first rank of enemies had knelt down letting the second rank raise their weapons. A second barrage caught more of the young nobles unaware but the greatest effect was morale. Few carried on rising above the cover of the barricade to loose an arrow at the enemy. Seeing the shift in the battle Henry closed his eyes.

Looks like we need you, Granthar.

There was no answer except for the sound of something giant approaching at pace and then an earth-shattering roar. Finally the enemy's discipline wavered as the giant white tiger smashed into the enemy's rear ranks with all the force of a hurricane. At the same time the sound of hooves could be heard and Henry looked over the barricade and saw Revaz' cavalry crashing into the enemy's disrupted flank. Their column broke and the men scattered in all directions.

"Hold!" Henry yelled to those at the barricade; the last thing they needed was a stray arrow taking out someone on their side or one of the cavalry running down one of their own in the confusion. Climbing up to the top of the barricade so that he could see more of what was going on, Henry caught sight of a figure on horseback who had retreated beyond the melee to watch the chaos unfold. He saw Henry and lifted a sword unlike the sabres the other enemy cavalry had wielded; it was a longsword. A longsword Henry knew as well as the face of the one who held it.

"Sam?" He whispered, watching as the man wheeled his horse away and escaped from the chaos.
There's also Ludonear Fearta who is waiting for a good moment to introduce their character.
I'll be taking on Wernher's characters fo now. We have four people which is more than the original had and more than House of Powers and World of Powers had.
Gaius looked up from the tome he had been reading at the mention of his name, his brow furrowing in thought. He thought he had gone relatively under the radar, being neither a great leader of men nor fantastically powerful like many of those at the fortress, not to mention that his power was limited to sheer force at that moment.

"It's probably the name." He muttered as he carefully closed the book and returned it to the shelf he had found it on. While Gaius was proud of his heritage, particularly that of Julius who was perhaps the most famous member of his family, he resented the expectation placed upon him because of it. Despite attempts to stamp out the man's legacy his name was widely known and he heard it whispered in awe here and there and that gave him the drive to work on his own powers. He knew that he had a better mastery of his powers than Julius had had at the age of sixteen but he was also aware that his forebear had had two powers whereas Gaius only had one; he would have to be extra careful in battle.

Having arrived in the room Gaius saw the young-looking redheaded girl. Somehow she looked familiar to him but he could not quite place her; as if he had seen her from the corner of his eye several times before. Shaking the feeling he took a seat and waited for the others to arrive. Once the situation had been explained to them he looked around at the others before raising his hand.

"Are we going to be the only team? If so... pardon my pessimism but there are very few of us if we're to make a real difference, ma'am." His eyes drifted to the redhead and he noticed a brief flicker of a smile cross her face as well but more subtle was the intense sadness, and the glazed eyes of one reliving the past, that she hid almost instantly. The woman, or girl for she appeared barely older than Gaius, seemed intent to stand back and say nothing for the meanwhile although it was clear she was someone important by the way Phoebe Miller looked to her.
A bit uninspired but I wanted to get something for Wilfred before Faolan showed up. That and Harald needed to be tucked in.
Harald stormed into his longhouse, furious at the night's events. He had been in a position of strength until his men had lost their wits and decided to attack the Ragnarssons. Dimly he acknowledged it was most likely in order to please Harald but that irked him even more; his men were as thick as oxen and they knew not to do anything without his express permission. A slave bowed to him in fear as he entered, tentatively asking if he wished to eat. Eyeing the broken man with scorn, the slave's face beaten and bloody from his assault earlier, an idea bloomed.

"There's food aplenty here that I can fetch myself. You can go to the Healing House in the morning and don't come back until you've found out something useful to me. If you're not back by noon I will nail your genitals to my front door, understood?" The slave nodded mutely and scurried out, too afraid to remain in the longhouse for the night. Harald sighed and collapsed into the mountain of furs that formed his bed, next to the fire of course, and he consumed a quick meal prepared by one of the female slaves. Still furious he dragged the unfortunate girl to his bed and, once satisfied, threw the woman out from the fur fortress and slept.
Wilfred laid the boy's corpse into the deep trench he had dug and crossed himself, muttering a few words for the boy's pagan soul, before shoveling the dirt back into the hole. A deep cold was setting in and the rain showed no sign of stopping, drenching his bandaged torso but also washing away the filth of the day's exertions. Finally the sad little grave was finished and the big slave marked it with the shovel, thrust into the mound. His brief act of mercy done Wilfred turned to go but a wave of exhaustion, mixed with roaring pain, washed over him forcing the Saxon to sit at the foot of the grave.

"I have no intention of joining you though." He muttered to the buried corpse, tilting his head back and letting the rain run in rivulets down his face. "Maybe this rain will wash away that satanic filth outside the walls." He murmured before offering up a prayer asking the same before thanking the Almighty for delivering him from the Dane dwarf's control. There was yet hope for freedom.
The town is outside the Academy walls and we are still at the Academy. Henry agreed with Revaz but he thought it unlikely the entire enemy force would fall for the trap so they split their force in two; Revaz has the wood team and Henry will join them, luring the enemy, before moving his forces to the barricade where the rest of the enemy (the infantry) will follow.

The infantry will be lightly armoured but the cavalry are more life Cuirasseurs (with the breastplate) so they'll be slower than unarmoured cavalry.

TO;DR: at the Academy, splitting enemy force into two, Revaz in charge of wood team taking out enemy cavalry, the town is outside the walls of the Academy (one town at each gatehouse and called Unity together, differentiated by their geographical location e.g. North, South etc.)
The Queen touched Elizabeth McArthur's shoulder gently.

"Elizabeth, let us go. Lord Henry and the others have the matter in hand, I'm sure. Our part is to simply stay out of danger." She effortlessly mounted a waiting horse, held by a nervous stable hand, with other mounts ready for the rest of the royal party. "Come, let us away from here for the time being and trust in our fellows to drive the enemy away." She waited until the others were mounted before steering her stallion around and gently easing her heels into the horse's sides so that it trotted forwards; neither hasty nor too slow and the Queen didn't even look over her shoulder, feigning a nonchalance while worry ate at her insides.
Seeing Gwen and Fenrir, Henry made his way towards them. A few eager horsemen had made it through the gate before Caroline had successfully plugged the defences with the golems but the aggressors were being hunted down by those veteran nobles who had recovered quickly from the shock of the explosion. Two more fell to Henry's sword before he made it to Gwen and they embraced, the battle around them forgotten at the relief. Finding himself relax, even in the midst of battle, Henry found the dark cloud hanging in his mind fade even while a quite voice warned that he needed the battle rage to survive.

The moment was broken when a dull thump followed by the crashing of metal made them both turn towards the gate. They were just in time to see a spherical object smash through the ranks of golems, hurling them aside or ploughing directly through them, with no apparent difficulty before shooting into a pile of barrels and crates stacked next to the two. Henry covered them both with his shield as splinters showered them; a single piece less than a foot in length passing through his guard and embedding itself in his upper arm. Wincing, Henry yanked the wooden spike from his arm and tossed it aside. Another thump was followed by another sphere crashing through the ranks and flying off on the other side of the two.

"Take Fenrir and head for the barricade." Henry said, leading Gwen to her familiar and helping her climb up. "Don't stop no matter what you hear, it's too dangerous here." He ignored the obvious fact that he would remain behind, turning and bounding up the steps to the top of the wall. It was clear that their defence at the wall would not last long but at least Caroline's quick action with golems had bought them enough time to regroup and prepare to enact the plan. Seeing the young woman firing down into the flames blindly with a blow, the enemy still hidden in the burning town below, he pushed past the golems on the wall and shook her to free her of the battle reverie that had taken her over.

"We can't hold here, come on! We need to get to the horses!" He half dragged her from the wall to where the picketed horses were and helped her mount one before climbing onto another horse's back himself. Just as they were ready to pull back to regroup with the other students there was the sound of a shower of metal on metal and the defence by the gate collapsed completely followed by a pouring of enemy cavalry through the gap. The two rode after Gwen towards the others with the enemy cavalry hot on their heels.

Come on Revaz, get these bastards off of us and into the woods.
Apparently so, Dizzy! The question is can she penetrate his cold warrior facade now that it's back up?

Flintlock Muskets, Wernher. They'll also be equipped with basic field cannons (12 pounders) at this stage. Later I intend to introduce rifled weapons (such as those used by the Jaegers and Green Jackets in the early 1800s) as well as a few other... advances.

Update: And with that post I am off to bed. Also that last 'shower of metal on metal' was a volley from the enemy infantry.
