That's actually good enough to start an OOC on. Please do keep watching this space. And yes, more interests are always welcome!
Halvtand - That is a secret I was hoping to keep for another day. The Gors have their own way of identifying and nurturing the Spark, and it is a secret known only to very few among the Gors. These 'wise ones' jealously guard this knowledge and use it only to 'divine' or 'foretell' the future for the benefit of their tribe. It is a bit complicated, but as a Gor warrior, you need to know that the Gors forbid anyone to speak about the wise ones, and definitely not to a Sendai. The Gor wise ones secretly fear that if White Island knew about this, they would try to take young Gors to their island to train.
Kirit characters will be greatly regulated, but the main reason why I want players to take up them is because I want the kirit to be 'human', for want of a better word. I don't want them treated like mindless orcs or trolls or half-bloods. They are a people - with the same types of strengths and weaknesses as humans.

I don't know what you mean by PvP? You mean you don't want to combat with another player? Besides, this will not be an arena-style RP. As you said, it is more like Game of Thrones in that there is more politicking than fighting.
SonofJET - I agree with you. That's a valid explanation so I will shut up now :)

AmazinglyVivid - You are in a perfect position to build the culture of Menaria, as its future ruler! So do go ahead and bring Menaria alive. I love people who love world-building :)
The New Yorker - Almost every member of the Guard is taught to use the saa. It is a force present in every human. By itself, it is of no use. It merely augments your talents. So if you are naturally a good swordsman, saa will make you an exemplary, almost mythical one. It is not something that you can merely use like a magic power and hurl at enemies. Therefore, there aren't any 'mages'. There are people who are better at using it, and they naturally advance faster than others, earning rank in the Guard. Most of the Captains and Commanders and Guides are excellent saa users. But, that said, strength alone does not determine an individual's progress in the Guard.

So, in short, you can be a knight and still be a saa user.
CraftWork - I found absolutely nothing wrong with your post. Apart from showing a very real image of the frustrated boy, you also gave an accurate example of the Outburst. As you rightly guessed, it is like the outburst of magic in Potterverse. And I am glad that you chose Earth as your dominant power - a miner kid born with the spark and living in the mountains, and now wielding the power of Earth. Gleefully good!! And the superstitious, almost impotent father of his is a true person!! Good work, CraftWork

SonofJET - Again, brilliant post. I love the proud columns of fighting men marching to Marne. And the young man's dilemma is also very nice. I do have two things of note in your post. The first is, I see that your character is not happy about chasing peasant rebels. Forgive me, but isn't he a green recruit itching for real combat? Wouldn't he welcome this p(l)easant diversion from his monotonous training? Granted he would rather fight the Menarians, but isn't this better than practicing with wooden swords all day? The second thing is about the addressing. The soldiers say "Yes sir!". Could you make it such that is "Yes, Lord Captain!" or "As you command, my Lord"?
I am assuming people are watching and preparing their posts. Too quiet in here
Bumping it for interest
I am hoping it would work with a small group as well. I don't have any limits on the number of roleplayers - the more the merrier. Since all of it will be happening within a small location, multiple characters should merge without a problem.
Welcome, traveler, to Jenji Pass.

I know. The view is not very welcoming. I don't blame you for trying to suppress that shiver. These black peaks can give even grizzled veterans the jitters. Out here, the sun does not merely shine. It bakes and burns this land with a vengeance. At nights, the bones chatter with biting cold. There are no trees to relieve the eye, nor any peaceful streams or rivulets. Just bleak rock and sand and black ridges rising into the infernal sky.

The Jenji Pass is the sole passage through the Black Ranges - our northern wall. The Black Ranges are our natural defence against the twisted kirits who live on the other side.

For centuries, us humans and the kirits lived blissfully unaware of each others' existence. They were content to remain in their deserts, squabbling among themselves, and we were content to remain in our lush plains, squabbling among ourselves. But then, our squabbles ceased temporarily. We found ourselves united under the great Empire after years of war and political maneuvers. We discovered saa, the power of the soul. We used it to become powerful warriors and we forged this vast empire that stretches from the Black Ranges in the north to the Sea of Storms in the south.

In our greed and complacency, we poured through the Jenji Pass in large numbers, hoping to lay claim to the vast rugged plains north of the Black Ranges. There, we met our match. We unwittingly united the kirits against us, and they came at us like waves of fire and death. The kirits had discovered a dark power of their own, the one they call mesaa. They forged weapons of death with mesaa, disfigured their bodies to tap into hidden strengths, and routed us. They chased us all the way back to the Pass.

There, thankfully, we held our ground. For ten years, we ravaged the land with saa and mesaa, before the kirits decided to return to their homes. It was not a retreat. It was an unspoken armistice. A temporary lull.

Since then, this Pass has become the center of the Empire's attention. A garrison was built and towers were constructed in the twin peaks. Bone Castle was erected as the command center of this border garrison. Today, we call it the Deathwatch Guard.

The Deathwatch is a garrison, a training ground, a killing unit and the symbol of human resilience. Not a month passes by without a kirit incursion. But not a single kirit has ever crossed the Pass, thanks to the Deathwatch. They are men and women who are not merely great fighters, but also strong souls. They are trained to stand with steely resolve against any hordes that may pour through the Pass. They are trained to tap into their saa and use it in combat. They are our first and final line of defence against the kirits.

***************

Whether you choose to be a part of the Deathwatch or whether you choose to be a kirit and fight the human invaders, history and glory beckons you.
