Well I suppose I can't say I make them from scratch. I downloaded a program that turns video clips into gifs. Once I get raw gifs from that, I edit and caption them in Photoshop. Still rather time-consuming, but, eh.

It's a webcomic. It's not a webcomic in the traditional sense, though, as instead of simply being a comic hosted on the web, it's made for the web, as nearly all the images are gifs, and nearly all dialogue is presented as IM's between characters, and there are even some cool flash animations and interactive segments.

As for the plot? Well, that's hard to explain while still doing it justice. Reeeaaal hard to explain. And telling people to "just go read it" doesn't work so well since, as we were just discussing, the first Act is really slow and doesn't resemble the rest of the story very well at all.

There are some nice fan-made trailers on Youtube that do a good job of introducing it, though. Here's one of my favorites. The voice-acting in it is done by fans but everything else (all the art, animation, and even the music) is straight from the canon.
