Torture

I don't think the Guild has any real rules against this. I know there's a general PG-13 guideline but that seems to be mainly in regards to sexual content (in other words, no smut please). I haven't really seen any other sort of explicit content become much of an issue.

As for my personal opinion? Do whatever you like with your characters. I know I've been guilty of torturing my own characters in the past. Though, that was mostly mental/emotional torture (whereas I assume you mean physical), but still.

This just changed my entire opinion of you. I used to not hate on you too hard - because I thought that, while you could be a bit annoying, you seemed like you were at least trying to make Spam like you, even if you weren't very good at it. I almost took pity on you for not being very good at making a home in Spam, and silently hoped you would get better - not just so you'd be less annoying but so that you'd be more respected as well.

This is the reason why I treat the two words as synonyms.

Every time someone tries to tell me the differences, someone else says "no, it's the other way around" or otherwise tries to tweak the definitions. There's no consistent distinction.
