Every once in a while you can find a diamond in the rough. Or just contact someone outside of the 1x1 intchks and ask to do a decent RP. It isn't all terrible.

...But like 90-95% of it is really really bad. So by poking around the intchks, you'll likely be pretty horrified.

Diverting his attention from Ba’al slightly, he glanced towards Nonon and Asphyxious, and only a moment later, popped up between the two of them, forcing them to distance themselves a bit more. “What do you guys think?” he interrupted, shooting them both a friendly face. “Any idea where we are?” he asked, keeping an eye on the lich in particular. While he did still want answers, he also found himself rather concerned with making sure the big scary guy didn’t tear the little girl’s head off.

I'm totally not knocking your own personal sense of satisfaction. :P I'm just relating my own younger self's experience and utter disappointment at Oak's utter inability to give a fuck. I thought he would have done something similar to beating the Elite 4, thank me for fulfilling his lifelong dream, give me an item like a unique TM (or Pokemon, a level 50 that was Oak's first Pokemon or the unclaimed starter would have been awesome).But nope. Up yours, you jaded, uninterested old fuck.

Who knows - maybe Oak just never thought those kids would actually fill the dex like he said, and he just wanted to give them a sense of adventure or something.

I'd say X/Y's a very good installment of the series, yes. Some people criticize how weak the Elite Four (final battles) were in that game, but I guess that's good for someone new to the franchise. Oh, and the exp share thing makes creating a balanced team real easy, so that's a plus. Good for getting you used to the Pokemon formula and just letting you enjoy the storyline and gameplay.

Also X/Y is filled with callbacks and tributes to the first couple games so you can't act like you skipped the classics outright, I guess.

Edit: Also X/Y features TONS of Pokemon from the earlier generations (as opposed to, say, Black/White which were almost entirely new Pokemon, at least in the earlier game) so yeah that's a plus.

Sometimes, you have the best responses.I got all 151 with Red, realized it was an empty accomplishment (seriously, you get nothing other that a half-assed word of recognition), so I deliberately caught Missingno, fucked my game to see what happens, and restart, only catching the ones I wanted.

It's not like I was expecting an award for filling my dex. I really don't expect an award most times when I do something like that in a game. I just do it for the satisfying feeling of having done something like catch 718 different species of monsters. Anything extra is just a fun little bonus.

Assuming you're even standing on a planet and not just some realm where spacial relations don't always make a ton of sense.

I know you asked me to do it ten years ago, Professor Oak... and they added a couple hundred new species since then... but that's fine - I still finished it. I finally completed the Pokedex 100%.

I feel so accomplished.
