Did I become invisible?? -_-

I haven't seen you post in a while, so that could be it.

I can look back at the IC for a closer look at where the disconnect happened but for now my advice is that if you want to stay relevant, you have to keep posting.

It's hard to give a response to every action of each individual person in a group like this - sometimes your actions won't always get a specific response. You should still respond to the actions of the group at large, though - then you won't fade into oblivion (and I mean that kind of literally in the context of this RP).

Edit: I apologize, that sounded snarky.

I feel like the contrast between my current avatar and signature (my avatar isn't changing for some reason) gives off a real douche-y vibe.

Eh, It technically could of hit anyone, since I think the group is rather close together, and you would just have to take a step or something/The ball could just hit you anyway..At least that what I think...

GM's still on Basilix, so I can see where Neo's coming from.

Oh well.

I'll get a post up soon, by the way.

That's cute.I get sad these days when I meet kids (not even that much younger than me) who have never even heard of Star Wars. And they say I'm the sheltered one.

How do people not know about Star Wars?

Their parents don't love them.

See, I just don't know how it's possible for someone to not know what Star Wars is. Like, it's not even a parenting issue, because even if the kid's never seen the actual movies, Star Wars is still EVERYWHERE in media. There are Star Wars products, references and parodies EVERYWHERE YOU GO. If this kid has any access to TV or the internet (and all kids of this generation have an iPhone now so I'd expect them to have internet access) then they can't go very far without running into any Star Wars material.
Roleplay.

Or, find a series you really like to binge.

That's what I've been spending a lot of my time doing.

Yes, yes it is. Even better is the fact that Vash wouldn't know what a porcupine is either. And then assuming it is some kind of giant mutant monster or something. XD

Hah, potentially.

It is not as good as Vash's own fake name.

Yeah, I guess you're right about that. XD
Blonde Porcupine

This is the best nickname anyone has ever given Vash.

I wouldn't worry about Gameboys not working 20 years down the road, I've read stories and seen pictures of one that was more or less melted in a mortar attack work flawlessly after the screen was replaced. I also think my GameCube will outlive me and the next 3 generations. Say what you will about Nintendo; they build stuff that makes military spec look like Walmart brand.I want to do something similar, where my potential spermspawn grow up with everything videogame related that I did plus the new stuff. I'd like them to know of a simpler time where you don't have to buy DLC to escape the first level, preorder to get half the game's content, uploads their every move to Facebook, and games that aren't sequel numbered to the point it dwarves the Super Bowl.

I'd imagine that growing up with the old and the new should make them more appreciative of it all as well.

"Kids these days" thread #549681In all seriousness though, I'm not planning on having any kids myself, but if my brother or my friends ever have any kids, I want to be their eccentric uncle that introduces them to all these cool things from days long past. Even stuff from years and decades beyond my time.

Yeah, I'm also kind of iffy on the idea of having kids, but I would definitely fulfill this role rather well. Especially since I too tend to enjoy old technology that even I didn't grow up with.
Awesome! Any estimate as to when the IC will be up?

I fear the day I have kids and they think the shit I loved growing up is intolerable because it's not rendered in 5790p at 800 frames per second and they can't tell that a character with fewer than 100,000 polygons is a human, let alone a character you can get emotionally attached to.I still have my Gameboy. I'll probably give it to one of my kids before they're contaminated with this graphics wankfest of the present and beyond.

As for me, I just find the way that kids react to "old" (from their perspective) technology hilarious.

If I ever have kids, though, I'm totally educating them on this stuff and potentially even trusting them with a Gameboy (if I still have some working ones then) and they can be the envy of their friends, bringing in what they'd consider a museum piece to school and making all the other kids be like "wooooaaaah what is that?"

...Actually now that I think about it. Gameboys are technically museum pieces.

...There is so much potential to blow kids minds today with technology that's a mere 10-or-so years old.
