The part with Matt Smith phoning from Trenzalore to the modern day Clara was a bit confusing, but I liked it.

You know, shortly after the last Christmas special, I actually remember a lot of rumors floating around saying that Eleven would phone in from right before his regeneration. Thing is, though, all the rumors I heard said that he would be calling his own future self which looking back on it really doesn't make a ton of sense, but at the time I sort of assumed it would be like a secondary "final scene" for Eleven, which I wasn't exactly ok with at the time since I was still getting over his initial departure.

I had kind of forgotten about all this when I went to watch the episode, but remembered again when Clara's phone ring and I was like "oooooh I know who it is...", but I didn't expect his call to be directed at Clara, convincing her to stay since he figured he'd still be lonely in the future (some things never change I suppose) and that he'd want someone by his side. I actually liked the way they did that a lot better than what the rumors implied would happen.

Yes the David Tennant Tardis was a lot better wasn't it?

Actually I really liked the season 7.5 TARDIS interior. I don't see why they had to change it so quickly.

And his Theme Music...And that swirling vortex thingy-ma-bob... Speaking of which how do you guys like the new one?

I looooove the new theme music and intro, though. I got really excited when I heard how much it sounded like the Classics (particularly McCoy's era), and I also love the visuals. Nice to see them try something other than the time vortex, for once.

I started a week ago also. I've been having fun dealing with my I-pad and getting it to work.

Just got through my first day of classes. Feeling surprisingly giddy despite my last class having gotten out at 8 earlier tonight. :D

God I am such a workaholic.

She looks fine to me! Just specify what "addictions" she fears? Is it losing something she craves or is that she fears developing one...?

Yeah, she fears developing addictions, of any kind, which I kind of hinted at in the "a glimpse" section - she's not a huge caffeine drinker but she doesn't want to develop a regular routine of consuming it because she classifies that as an addiction, and therefore "too much caffeine". It's not limited to chemical things, though. She also tries not to get too into certain habits or activities for this reason - anything that one could claim they have an addiction to, even jokingly. (Hence why it was kind of hard to fill in the "hobbies" section - she tries not to do too much of one thing so developing hobbies would be difficult. XD)

Muse is the only way to travel.

Hah, indeed.
“Oh, yeah, I’m fine.” Muse told Rae. “I can apply some gradual healing powers when I need to. I’m all healed up now, see?” he smiled. “And uh… as for the glasses…” he looked around a bit, before grabbing the edge of his shirt, and looking towards Rae for her glasses. “May I?” he asked, before taking hold of her lenses, and wiping off as much grime and gore as he could with his shirt. Once the bulk of it was taken care of, he lifted the glasses to his mouth. “Hope you don’t mind.” he spoke quickly, before applying a little spit-shine, rubbing it in and wiping it off with his shirt as well. “They look clean now.” he told Rae, them back to her.

“As for the ride,” Muse stepped to the side a bit to distance himself somewhat from the other two, before taking a moment to casually stretch. “Lizard-thing it is.” In only a second or two, Muse transformed himself into the reptilian beast he’d just described — an eight-legged, sandy-colored serpent with a gecko-like head, at least twenty feet across without counting the tail. With a belly so low to the ground and legs so short, he did indeed almost look like a snake, ready to slither across the desert. “Well, hop on.” he told the girls, before quickly adding, “Wait, hold on a second,” and adding some horizontal ridges onto his back. “There. Should be easier to hold onto, now.” he told them. “Hang on tight!”

Once the girls had climbed on-board, he dashed off on his surprisingly speedy legs, scurrying across the desert sand in an S pattern, moving quickly enough to kick off dust into the air as he ran.

I'll get my post up later tonight. How is everybody today?

First day of college is going well, now that I've finally gotten my laptop connected to internet after a half-hour of figuring it out with tech help*. :D

*Which wasn't as painful of a process as it sounds. At least I got to talk to people in-person. I mean I wasn't being sarcastic or anything it really is great to finally be online.

A Glimpse of…

Linda glowered down at her coffee, standing outside Starbucks early in the morning. “I drink too much caffeine.” she said to herself, having only taken a few sips and already feeling guilty about buying it. If one were to ask anyone else, though, she wouldn’t look like a caffeine addict; she’d only just recently gotten into the habit of drinking it regularly each morning — and that was her problem. I don’t wanna be dependent on this stuff. she thought to herself. I shouldn’t need it to wake up each morning. she told herself as she guiltily sipped her beverage on her way to work, trying to limit how much she consumed.

She worked at Subway — didn’t want to go to college right after high school, not if she didn’t know what career she would go there for. After all her mom was still paying off loans and she’s working retail! What an investment. Kind of hard for her mother to convince her to go when she was such a shining example of the college system’s success. Linda wanted to take a year off and figure out what it was she would do with her life. Unfortunately, nothing had come to her yet. Every morning on her walk to work she thought about how ironic it was that Subway was all about being able to decide what you want and yet she couldn’t decide at all. If that was even irony. She really didn’t know anymore.

She thought about a lot of the same things on her way to work each morning. Like every time she walked past that fortune teller, a small part of her wondered if it were possible to make a living doing the same thing, but she had only recently discovered tarot cards and she still had a lot to learn about fortune-telling techniques, not to mention getting the atmosphere down — something she wasn’t sure she could do since her only experience with it consisted of casually giving readings to her friends and being all, “Woooow isn’t it crazy how well it applies to your life? The cards know, girl”. Plus, how would she even get a business like this started? These doubts shot down the idea just about every morning.

This morning, however, was one that wasn’t exactly like the rest, because of a very peculiar flier that caught her attention as she walked by. “…What the hell. Is this for real?” she asked out loud, giving the extremely casual offer for a journey across the universe from a supposed alien life form a second read, laughing as she tore the poster off the telephone pole it clung to and gave it a closer look. “What even is this?” she asked, now looking at both the front and the back of the strange offer. “Man, I gotta look into this later.” she decided as she folded it up and slipped it into her pocket, continuing her usual route to work.
If I may comment on your signature - I don't see why you're complaining about waiting for the next episode. It's only a week away. At least the 8-month hiatus is over. Plus, I recall Moffat saying that one of the reasons he put season 8 off for so long was so that the whole season could run without any breaks in the middle, unlike the last two.

Anywho, to comment on the subject of the thread: re-watching The End of Time after seeing The Time of the Doctor actually made me kind of angry. Made me realize that Ten was kind of a whiny bitch at the end. :/ I mean he's still one of my favorite Doctors but that one moment just doesn't sit well with me anymore...

Also, why are people still mourning Ten? If anything, I can imagine people still getting a little feels-y over the loss of Eleven, but it seems most people are already excited to see more of Twelve (in fact, it seems the past month or two I've sensed nothing but excitement for the new Doctor from the fandom; everyone's already had time to get over the previous one). So yeah this strikes me as a really odd time in the show's history for everyone to be talking about Ten's death. :/

No so much the new Tardis though.

Yeah, kind of made me wonder why the TARDIS interior even needed to be changed. When I saw the new design it got for the second half of season 7, I had assumed that TARDIS would stick around into Capaldi's run - and I even thought it was nice that they made the change a little early so that everything wouldn't change all at once like it did during the 10-11 transition.

But then... they changed it. Again. After only half a season. Seems a little early, don't you think? Besides, I did enjoy the other one more. I would've liked being able to look at it a while longer.

But I mean, that's a small detail. I do like most of what the Capaldi era has brought so far - and I think his first episode was probably one of the best first episodes, comparing it to some of the other Doctors' debuts.
MK purred as Callum pet him, eyes closing contently as he inched around on his back a bit. At the sound of Callum’s question, the cat stopped purring for a moment and looked up at the roleplayer, before going back to what he was doing before — as if shrugging and saying “gee, I dunno man”.
