Season one was good, compared to the second though it was fragmented between Korra's lack of training and her bonding with pro bending and doing a horrible job at making friends. Her choices were horrible and I can't see why Asami or Bolin would have stuck around during season two.I know LOK was meant to be one season, depending on reception, but season two should have tightened up the development and kept it contained. While I enjoyed some episodes during the second season, it still feel horribly managed. Not to mention, it felt rushed at the end. (I still need to finish the finale but fearing it's cliche, I've avoided it) The romance was horrible in both seasons. While Bolin's was meant to be funny, it was painful to watch. Tenzin's history was a nice touch though. Being a shipper of Mako/Asami and Bolin/Korra, it's been a tough season because the writers weren't sure how to handle Asami who wasn't supposedly, meant to be a main character or was meant to be a villain at some point. I've heard good things about the third season and I hear they go out of RC which good news, but I'm still not very eager to watch it, which saddens me because the music and animation have often been wonderful.Speaking of things I'm not overly excited about, I still have Into the Dalek to get around to...>___> Overall, Korra's crappy development and poor choices have been hard to watch and have brought down great side characters. Hopefully she's redeeming herself and owning up to her mistakes. Personally? I would have liked Korra to contemplate suicide at the end of season one. Supposedly it wasn't meant to be implied but her not getting her bending back right away and having to slow down, would have made her more relateable for me but then again she's the Avatar...she's got tons of responsibility...doesn't need to be human or anything. XD

o.o Well like I said, season 2 had some excuses for being horribly rushed. In season 3, the writers actually know what they're doing - which is why it's a lot nicer. It also avoids terrible love triangles, and provides more backstory info for existing characters (particularly Lin). Additionally, Korra's behavior is no longer painfully stupid to watch, and Bolin's jokes have improved... slightly. Not gonna try to oversell that one.

But yeah, I know season 2 sucked for a lot of reasons, but season 3 fixed virtually all those things because they weren't rushing as much. Also there's at least some continuity between seasons 2 and 3, unlike 1 and 2 where the latter seems to have mostly pretended the former never happened.

Also if you want enjoyable animations, there's plenty of that in the fight scenes. o.o They got really creative with the bending this time, too, since we have a lavabender, a waterbender who has no arms but uses bending to create water-arms, and the return of whatever-the-hell Combustion Man was doing in the original series. :D As well as another massive change that pretty much shakes the very foundations of the bending world... but I won't spoil that here. But yeah, overall season 3 is a billion times better than season 2. A massive improvement. They really took into consideration all the flaws with season 2 and even season 1. In fact, it almost feels like a massive apology.

Speaking of season 2, though, you never watched the finale? o.o The last handful of episodes are just about the only really good part of the whole season, though! They almost make up for the rest of it.

But enough about Korra... why so apprehensive about Into the Dalek? O.o I thought it was a pretty intense and emotional episode. But... I will admit, that's just me. The fandom seems kind of split on it, as a lot of people are saying it seems like a re-hash of Dalek from season 1, but if you ask me there are a lot of key differences that make the emotional impact of everything in Into the Dalek (including a certain line admittedly kind of similar to one from Dalek which I will not spoil here...) a lot heavier. Also, this one got awfully creative in expanding more on how Daleks work. Never would've guessed that the metal parts of them are practically just as "living" as the flesh part, for one...

I had to put LoK on pause myself but that's because the second season was a bit "eh" which made me less thrilled about its return.

If it helps you any, the 3rd season is much better than the 2nd.

The 2nd season was a mess because the Korra writers originally only planned on having one season (hence why Korra Book 1 was so self-contained and really didn't transition into the start of another story at the end). So then all of a sudden Nickelodeon said "hey, write three more seasons" and they were like "fuuuuuck what do we do now?" which led to the 2nd season coming out really rushed and messy - hence why the only really good parts were the beginning and the end, with the middle being filled with sloppy filler.

As of this season, it looks like they finally know what they're doing and they can put together a cohesive story again. I haven't finished it yet (only have, like, 2-3 chapters left, though, depending on whether or not you count the finale as one or two chapters) but from what I've seen, the story is held together much better than the 2nd or even the 1st season. Also the bending matches look gorgeous, and so do all the spirits. (And unlike in the 2nd season, we get said gorgeous bending and spirits all throughout the story rather than only at the beginning and end.)

It's kind of funny because the first chapter of book 3 is titled "A Breath of Fresh Air" or something similar to that. I feel like that title refers more to the writers' situation than anything else. XD
I actually haven't noticed any issues today. Impressively enough.

Good to know, there really should be more variety with companions in new who, I'm quite bored of females from the UK at this point. Or "special" plot point characters...heh.If I'd recommend anything right now, it would be Orphan Black. It's a great series on BBC America and I'm sure you could stream it online somewhere. Tatiana is a very talented actress and if you're not too nit picky and enjoy science fiction meets clones in a modern time with crazy religious folk, it would be a fun a ride. It's got two seasons out and was definitely the best show I watched/discovered in 2013.

Yeah, I've heard a lot of good things about Orphan Black. I just haven't gotten around to watching it yet (or starting many new series at all recently) since I've been devoting much of my free time to getting through a certain 26-season show as quickly as possible. I've only recently started slowing down on that just to catch up on Korra and Welcome to Night Vale...
First year of college is off to a good start, thanks for asking. ^^
