However, there are too many.

To those saying there are quite a few original rp's out: Yeah, but a lot of them are also painfully cliche.

I'm just frustrated because as a seasoned roleplayer who shies away from fandom-based rp's it's near impossible to find anything good.

I don't think you really listened to what I said.

There are "too many" because, for the reasons stated above, fandom RP's are more likely to be successful than original ones.

A lot of the original RP's out are "too painfully cliche" because they also aren't really "original", but, because of that, are still more likely to succeed for the same reasons.

And that last quote pretty much just translates to "fandom RP's are trash and I'm too good for them". If they're not to your tastes, that's one thing, but many do have real effort put into them and are arguably more "original" than many so-called original RP's. I'd hardly label all of them as unquestionably inferior to non-fandom roleplays.

And... if there are no RP's out there that you enjoy, and you don't want to create your own, well, there's nothing you or I can do about it.

and lastly to all: I wasn't meaning to offend anyone

Oh, I wasn't offended when I wrote my initial response. I just wanted to help you understand why fandom RP's tend to be so much more common.

Now I'm somewhat offended.

Edit: Oh, and if I might suggest something - Advanced is easier than most stereotypes make it out to be. Half of Casual already qualifies for Advanced standards, so it's not too much of a step up. If you want to get away from fandom RP's, Advanced does have less of them.
I see nothing wrong with things as they are.
“Sorry Ebil,” Muse replied. “But, I really can’t teach you how to sense the other roleplayers.” He told him. “Mostly because, I don’t even know how I’m doing it.” For some reason, the ability had just come to him once the roleplayers started to appear. He thought that perhaps he always had the ability, and it just didn’t become relevant until there were any roleplayers to sense, but even so, that would still raise the question of how that power got there in the first place. Another theory was that Godmodder gave him the power. But if that was true, then the thought of why he would do such a thing, or the thought of what else he could possibly do to him or the other roleplayers… were rather terrifying. He tried not to think about it.

Instead, he focused on the RPers’ efforts to get inside the building, and couldn’t help but feel a little proud of them. Surely, Muse had a plethora of skills in his arsenal that he could’ve used to either open the lock or force the door open, but no one had asked him to. Instead, they all used their own skill and wit to find a way in. They didn’t feel dependent on him. And at the rate they were learning, they’d be a formidable force in no time. He couldn’t help but put on a slight smile, just watching them work… that is, until Ebil pointed out why it was locked in the first place. “Hah! That explains it!” he laughed. “Come on, let’s find another entrance…”
Godmodder raised his eyebrow at Rose’s cheerful introduction, legitimately unsure as to whether the girl was feigning kindness out of fear of him or if she really was just that bizarrely nice, considering how badly his words seemed to shake her. The answer became clearer, though, when Leon pulled her into the kitchen and hastily shut the door. GM pursed his lips. He knew they were talking about him – probably figuring out what to do next – that much was obvious. The question was what exactly they planned to do. Would they confront him? Would they try to fight? Would they try to escape? Oooh he hoped they’d run! His visit to Kalmaysia had been mildly disappointing thus far, but watching the rats run would make it all worth it. Quietly, he pressed his ear against the door. He couldn’t hear complete sentences, only muffled words, but he got the gist. A grin spread across his face; they were planning an escape!

That raised the question, then – just how would he conduct this chase? Would he run after them himself? Perhaps take on another form? No, his favorite avatar would be much too large to follow them into cramped quarters. Send one of his pets after them? Yes!! Brilliant idea!

“Rin!” he called, stomping his foot on the floor. A scrawny brown wolf materialized in the room, stumbling on its clumsy legs as it appeared to be slightly disoriented. The poor thing seemed half-starved and abused, its powerful image stolen from it as it could only manage to tremble like a chihuahua in Godmodder’s presence. He crouched down next to the creature as it pressed itself against the wall, before grabbing onto its face by the jaw. “You smell the humans that were just in here, girl?” She snarled and struggled to pull her head away. “You’ll hunt them for me, riiiiight?” His eye glowed more intensely as Rin howled weakly, seemingly in pain. “Wait for the signal, though.” He ordered, eyes on the door. “Wait for the signal…”

Yeah, your right. Now before I forget. Does anyone remember watching the Avatar premiere? I remember it vaguely...

Mmmm yup. I remember being real excited to see the show when I first saw the trailers for it on Nickelodeon, so yeah, I watched the premiere. ^^

The tidbits right now are more of a set-up. In fact, that last one is to involve the Godmodder in some way. Once Bellua is freed, that's when everyone else becomes involved, as he will pose a very large threat to the entire group as a whole, as for the silhouette, the group will have influence in that as well, but it's more so to Euclid's benefit so that he can stand a rough chance against the Godmodder and be better able to help the group once that battle comes into play. If you want more details as to what's really going, feel free to PM me - I can explain everything in its entirety without giving anything else away to the others.

A PM would be helpful, thank you. Best we discuss our ideas in order to avoid having them clash with each other.

I can't wait to put the full force behind my plot. I have some very neat things for my character planned.

Yeah, see, I've been meaning to ask you about that...

Will this side-plot of yours involve ANY other characters? At all? I believe it was you who first asked about whether I'd allow player-based side-plots, and I said ok because I assumed it would be one that other players could get involved with, but so far every tidbit of that you've added, there's been absolutely no way for any other players to get involved. I don't think anyone else even knows what's going on, there. I know I don't. And, well, side-plots are one thing, but just writing a story about your own character that no one else can add to, resulting in you basically roleplaying with yourself, really isn't ok. I'm all for thickening the plot, but that's really only beneficial if it thickens the plot for everyone.

Bottom line is, if you want to continue the idea, please find a way to get other players involved. :/
“Heyyy you’re pretty good at this!” Muse told Nautilus once he’d returned to his human form, watching the roleplayer practice telekinesis. “Thankfully this looks like a school-for-the-gifted-type RP, so you can still practice without freaking people out.” He told him, before approaching one of the windows on the building. “That is if anyone’s around…” he hummed, peering into the empty hallway. “Academy RP’s and the like are usually a lot emptier than real academies.” He explained. “Rule of existence, you know? Nothing exists until stated to exist, and since NPC’s usually fade away almost immediately after they’re done being used, we’ll probably only encounter player characters.” He told them, before turning around with a grin on his face. “…Or other roleplayers, if my senses aren’t lying to me!”

Muse then scurried over to the door as the roleplayers pointed out to him that the door was locked, much to his confusion. “You’re right, that really doesn’t make a ton of sense.” He told Ebil, before listening to Orb’s… interesting ideas. He raised his eyebrow skeptically. “Yeeaaah… climbing through pipes ain’t as fun as it looks in Super Mario Bros.” he told him. “Why don’t we just look for another entrance? Ebil seems to have the right idea.” He continued. “Plus, didn’t you say you were a part of this RP?” Muse asked Ebil. “I’m sure you know your way around this place. Why don’t you lead?”

Sorry, I was watching Attack on Titan. I have left off just prior the forest of giant trees or what have you.

Ooooh so you're almost to the end of season 1?

Fantastic stuff, huh? :D
Actually, turns out reading political threads in OT full of long, drawn-out responses makes one pretty drowsy rather quickly...

I will have to make note of this.
