Oh, well if sequels count as survivors of Guildfall, then I suppose I might as well toss Welcome Back to the Guild out there.

Because if you had a roleplay about the subconscious of the Guild itself, why not turn Guildfall into a plot point?

Went back to edit the word Tera and Teravaes. I misspelled them with two r's which could confuse those who know Terra is associated with earth. Tera not Terra, means demon in Echlai and it's understood in reverse, whereas Vaes in short of Vaeslae means sky. Draconites is a mythical stone, but I guess that could work. You could call em Draconides or something to change it up, but do as you wish. As far as having seperate kingdoms, I think there should be more than one kingdom or else the world would look pretty flat and limiting whereas multiple kingdoms and diverse cultures makes the world dynamic and more believable.

Well yes, I figured there would be multiple kingdoms in existence, but I originally didn't plan for the RP to focus on more than one - for sake of activity flow. If we all start out in different kingdoms, establishing interaction between players is nearly impossible.

So, to address my previous concern, your character would at least start the RP in/near the main kingdom? I don't mean to limit your creativity; I just need to give the RP a good setup regarding activity flow to be successful.
Also, a pretty scary thought came to mind;

Natural evolution made the dinosaurs terrifying enough... think of what selective breeding could do to them. o.o

About CS's. Will there be any guideline for the CS, or do we just put the essentials?

There'll be a CS skeleton on the OOC, once I put it together.

Also, historically, how will this work? A feudal system, something like old Europe?

Yeah, along those lines.

I like the idea of letting the cultures of each kingdom have their own names for the dinos. For example the culture that I created have their own language and so the dialect would be a lot different than what your kingdom's culture might call them. I do have an idea for a universal name for pterodactyls and that is "Terras" which is short for Terravaes which means "Sky Demons" in Echlai, the language that I'm developing for my character's people in this role play. It'd be an interesting foreshadowing since the people of this time don't know the real names of the dinosaurs.I also like the idea of using Titan, but I think that carnivores and herbivore dinos should be called two seperate things. Rogue Titan could be the large carnivores and just Titan or Gentle Giants for the large herbivores. I think the most interesting thing as you stated (and I'm still thinking of) is what we could call all dinos in general. Should be something unique just like TWD came up with the name Walkers for zombies. Maybe something like Demon Beasts or Devil Monsters. Those are just some I threw out of my brain real fast.

Oooh I really like the name "Terras". I do have some concerns about there being multiple kingdoms present in the RP, though. I had only planned to focus on one because it'll be hard to establish and maintain interactions if all our characters are so far apart - so I'm assuming your character is either visiting or lives in the kingdom where the rest of the RP will take place? It'll be hard for them to start there.

While I agree that carnivores and herbivores should have different names, I figured referring to both tyrannosaurs and sauropods as "Titans", even different kinds, would get a bit confusing. Just doesn't seem like the proper classification of things... Besides, "rogue" makes more sense to refer to wild dinosaurs as opposed to domesticated ones, since I planned there would be some in captivity.

As for a general name for dinos, the term "draconites" came to mind, since it makes sense the people of the time would associate them with dragons.

I know, thought I'd add a little more detail to the idea. The origin of conflict should be a little more elaborated than just stating that it was a simple magic mistake.

Mm, well yes, if the plot's leading in that direction then I suppose it can be fleshed out for further reveal. I didn't spend much time on it in the OP since the specifics weren't as important - currently I'm focusing more on fleshing out the kingdom and world and such. Speaking of which, names. I'm having a hard time coming up with alternate names for the dinosaurs, considering the fact that dinosaurs weren't discovered until long after medieval times and so the people of our RP world would logically come up with completely different names for these unknown beasts.

Firstly, I'm going to need a new word to replace "dinosaur"... I have no idea where to even start, here.

Secondly, I was thinking that, given the fact that information on these creatures would not be too easily accessible or even recordable, it makes sense that the dinosaurs would mostly be divided into a handful of basic groups to identify them by, which would also need names. "Raptors" is the obvious choice for, well, raptors - and then I was thinking "Titans" for the larger, tyrannosaur-esque ones due to their size and predatory nature. Currently I'm stuck on a good alternate name for sauropods, though...

Thoughts?
Also, I should point out that I may be a bit less focused on GMing this thread within the next few days, mostly due to a new RP I'm trying to get off the ground. However, just because I won't regularly be keeping close tabs on activity flow and the like, that doesn't mean I'm not still willing to manage any issues that may arise. If you're worried things are getting slow or you think I should do anything GM-ly at all, don't hesitate to contact me.

A Spell caster or Conjurer could have brought the dinosaurs into existence during the medieval period. It could just be an experimental time spell that went wrong and brought all prehistoric creatures from the past into the present. I'd prefer it if the role play started out with the dinos already being there and the truth to how it happened and who was responsible is discovered later.

Ah yes, I'd already planned for the RP to start a while after the dinos had been summoned, and yeah, it was implied that all of it was caused by an experimental spell that went haywire.

I do like the idea of uncovering the truth of it all being worked into the plot, though. I'll add it to the list of plot-starters and we can see where everyone wants to lead the story from there. ^^

Yes. You all have permission to move Rose. It's the least I can do for how infrequently I'm on, which I apologize for again. I get here when I can. One of my RPs have kind of dropped so unless that picks up again, I should be able to keep up with this one a bit better. I'll have a weekend free of most homework so I should be here provided my friends don't pull me away. What sucks is that when I do have the time to RP, no one's on when I am. Like, when I have a breaks. I have a break and am completely free to RP and ALL of my RPs slow down. So yeah. I just kind of have to suck it up and deal with it. Which, I will. I'll see if I can read and catch up and make a post.I'm also experiencing a bit of a rut again, call me predictable, but I'll get out. Even if it is crap. I don't want anyone to be stuck because of me and my inabilities. :\

People don't have to be online at the same time as you to keep things going smoothly. All I ask is you post when you're online and have the opportunity to do so. *shrugs*

cool nice to see some interests. I think if you guys have any ideas for a more in dept plot we should throw them around while we wait.

Indeed! I'll work on the OOC this weekend, although it may take a bit longer than originally planned. In the meantime, though, I'm always open to suggestions!

Is it just me, or is the voting period shorter than 'normal'?

Ten days is about where we landed last time, I think. Used to be two weeks to write, two weeks to vote, but that was stifling a lot of the post-contest conversation, so they shifted things around. Things may shift again, depending on how NewGuild responds. Anyway it's not much shorter, if any. Idunno, maybe we used to have more than one complete weekend? I don't remember if that was a thing or not.

Yeah, the Voting period was ten days for the latter half of old WOTM's run, though the scheduling for everything might be a bit quirky for the first couple months while we work out some scheduling issues. Bear with us, though, and things should be back to "normal" in no time.
