Apparently Thundercat had to drop.

He wasn't really holding anyone up, though, so things should still move along pretty much the same for now.

Most torrent sites have porn ads.

Which my brain also associates with "crawling with viruses".

torrent the game instead

I've never been able to make torrents work well for me.

Not to mention I feel dirty going through those kinds of sites. I don't know where those files have been, man. I don't know what they've picked up. D:

So yeah, if I have the choice of screwing around with one of two programs that's gonna give me a headache, I'd choose the one that at least looks clean.

It is official - Bellua has touched down on Academy grounds.Sorry, Callum, but you're still sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeping~.

Yeah, he hasn't posted anywhere in over three weeks.

Good news is, if we never hear from him again, then we really don't need to worry much about writing him off.

I know how to fix it. Delete Origin and never touch it ever again for as long as you live because it is the shittiest program EA ever released.

I know it's shitty.

I just wanna take advantage of this free game offer goddammit.
I feel like I should start out by saying that, at least on oldGuild, "two paragraphs minimum" was the Advanced standard, not Casual. Casual was "one paragraph minimum", and the member base sort of turned it into something different when people who didn't want to play in Advanced but still wrote at Advanced standards stayed in Casual. The site has no specific "requirements" for the sections now (not that they meant much on oldGuild, anyway), so the three sections really only represent what people collectively want them to represent.

In general, though, I've noticed people from Free and Advanced tend to cling more to Casual even when they would better fit in said other sections, and this is probably due to activity levels. Casual is by far the most active, and so people whose RPing preferences are sort of borderline will generally gravitate towards Casual so they can run and participate in RP's with higher activity levels. Even I'm sort of guilty of this. Personally I care little about the lengths of people's posts and will join a thread in any section so long as I like the idea. So, when I GM, I almost always place my RP's in Casual, just because they'll get the most attention there. *shrugs*

Though, following this logic, I'm sure there are a lot of other Casual RP's with standards closer to what you'd expect to find in Advanced. Due to this phenomenon, Casual has always been the section with the most variety. In Free, people generally expect very short posts, and they'll find a lot of those. In Advanced, people generally expect longer posts, and they'll get a lot of those, too. in Casual, who knows? You have some threads where standards are a bit lower, some threads where the standards are a bit higher, and some that really do reach the "middle ground" you're looking for. But, since there's so much going on in Casual, I'm sure you'll find a thread with standards to your liking before long.

Or, failing that, you could always make an RP and set your own standards about post lengths. The Free/Casual/Advanced division only really exists to group like-minded RPers together; there's nothing stopping you from setting your own standards that don't perfectly conform to the expectations in any one section, especially since said expectations are even more meaningless now than they ever were.
Warning: I am not a gamer. I have no idea what I'm doing. Please bear with me.

Anywho, my friend emailed me a link to a place on Origin's site where I could download Plants vs Zombies for free, since she knew I liked the trial version when I had it on my computer. Anyway, I've never used Origin before and I had no idea how it worked, but I followed all their instructions and signed up for the site, downloaded and installed Origin, then downloaded and installed the game.

Problem is, due to issues which are not even consistent, I haven't been able to play this game even once since installing it yesterday. (And after a few Google searches, I realized I am not alone, and also this program is apparently a piece of shit, but since nothing else ever offered PVZ for free...)

At any rate, I was hoping some people in Spam might be able to help me out. As for what the actual problem is, well it seems there are several. Firstly, Origin rarely opens when I click it. Yesterday the program wouldn't launch at all unless I clicked the "launch" button straight from my browser where I downloaded PVZ, and today I got it to open once, but I've since closed out of it for reasons I will elaborate on in a moment. Secondly, even when I am lucky enough to get Origin to open, I can't play the game. Clicking "play" causes... nothing to happen. I see the little loading wheel next to my cursor for about a second like it's trying to do something, but then it all stops and it's as if I never clicked it at all. No acknowledgement; not even an error message. I tried looking up help to get the game to play in such a situation, and EA's help site told me to exit Origin, run as administrator, and try again. Not only did that not work, but now I've closed out of Origin and can't open it again at all - whether running as an administrator or otherwise.

I just wanna play a dumb little game about growing a garden to battle the undead that my friend was nice enough to share with me. D: Help?

A description or at the very least the title of your RP, if you're trying to advertise it.
If you like dystopian societies then I think you'd like Uglies. It's part of a series of four; I only just finished the first book and am currently working on the second.

Basically it's about this world where everyone is taught from a young age that all people are "ugly", until they turn sixteen and they have an operation that makes them "pretty", when they're given a perfect body with no flaws whatsoever and they're allowed to spend their days doing nothing but partying and having fun with their pretty friends. It's one of those amusing premises about a future where they fixed one problem (in this case, unfair distribution of good looks) but created a weird world with a whole bunch of other problems in the process. From there comes a whole lot of betrayal and interesting predicaments, but I don't want to give away too much of how it all fits together.

I admit that there is some romance in it, though, but it remains far from the focus of the story.

Edit: Unwind is another good one along that same vein of weird and kind of unsettling futures. I read it years ago, though, and don't remember it too well. I only recently found out that it's part of a trilogy, and so I plan on re-reading it once I'm done with the Uglies series and then reading the others.
