Sadon listened to what Elsa was saying very closely. Arendelle was quite a ways from his home and forge, but it could be a great opportunity for him. At first he figured she wanted to hire him, but then she mentioned the word “trade.” What kind of trade was she talking about? What she was asking for seemed more like a job he would be paid for. Unless that was just a different way of her saying she wanted to hire him. He thought for a moment, trying to weigh pros and cons in the back of his mind. It seemed like time stood still as he tried to come up with an answer, and he felt like he was making Elsa wait too long.

“Well your majesty, your offer does sound very interesting. I'm curious as to what you mean by trade however. What exactly would the trade be?” He had to know what he would be getting before he took any sort of job. That's what his father had taught him. He also knew not to just jump on anything that came up. If he did, people may end up cheating him, and he wasn't going to let that happen. Though he was pretty sure that Elsa wouldn't do anything like that to him.
Why was Elsa blushing? Sadon noticed it for a brief moment before she turned away. He didn't think that he did or said anything that would have warranted it. But again, he was dealing with some people that seemed to live an interesting lifestyle in Arendelle. It could just be how she was for all he knew. That's when he question came. He was a bit surprised by this, as nobody really seemed to care what he did besides crafting for them. Kristoff seemed to quickly lead Anna away from the conversation for some reason, and the blacksmith watched as the couple walked over to the buffet.

“Well I mostly craft weapons and armor,” Sadon said as he turned back to Elsa. “But I have done all different types of projects, ranging from making a child's toy to helping to build a house. I've spent my life learning to work with my hands when I'm not at the forge.”

He thought for a moment, thinking back to some of the other projects he's done. Some people in Riverwood asked him to help with extensions on their homes, and he had also built one from start to finish. He also created a new area at his home for the forge and built the stables behind his house for his horse. While his main skill was working with metal, he had spent some time learning to work with wood and stone. It seemed to help a little as people would hire him to work for many different things.
Sadon was a bit surprised to hear that Elsa shared a similar story with him. He watched as she sheathed the sword and placed it back in its case, then looked up at her. There seemed to be something on her mind, and he found himself trying to figure out what she was thinking about. All his thoughts were soon ended by a high pitched voice calling out to the group. He turned, and could have sworn he was just going crazy now. Was he staring at a snowman that could walk and talk? He couldn't blame this on having too much wine – he hadn't gotten anything to drink since he arrived.

He raised his eyebrow as he stared down at the snowman. This sure was a different kingdom from any other had been to. The Queen could form ice from nothing, and now there was a talking snowman. He'd never see anything like this in Riverwood. So far it seemed like these were things you'd make up in a child's bedtime story. But it was real. This was actually happening.

“Well now, this place is just full of surprises isn't it?” Sadon asked as he wondered how this snowman could be alive.

“Olaf here was created by Elsa a few years ago,” Anna said as she stood up. “We're not exactly sure how her powers brought him to life, but he's a part of our family.” A wide smile had formed on Anna's lips as Olaf looked up at Sadon.

“What's a blacksmith?” He asked curiously, not having heard mention of one before. Anna and Kristoff looked at Sadon, expecting him to answer the question.

“I create armor and weapons, mostly for battle,” Sadon answered, feeling a bit funny about who he was answering to.

“But Elsa doesn't battle,” the snowman answered, trying to figure out what Sadon would bring her.

“Sometimes swords are crafted for royalty, usually displayed to show their title. I was asked to forge one for the Queen by Kristoff.”

“Sounds fun!” Olaf exclaimed happily, causing Sadon to raise his eyebrow at this reaction. Then Olaf said “bye” to the group and wandered off into the large crowd of people.

Sadon watched for a moment, noticing that nobody else seemed to be confused by the snowman's presence. All these people seemed to already know about Elsa and her powers, but not much word of Arendelle came up in Riverwood.
Sadon watched Elsa's expression as she examined the sword. So far it all seemed to be going well, and he felt as if a huge weight was lifted off his shoulders. Looking at Kristoff, his friend gave him a small nod and smile, knowing that he had done a good job. All the Queen had said about the sword so far was “wow.” Then a woman's voice rose up and he saw a young girl approaching. She asked Elsa to do the “magic,” which confused Sadon. What magic was she talking about?

Soon he figured it out as he saw Elsa form a rose made of ice for the little girl. He had no idea about her powers, so he was really surprised by it. But everyone else seemed to know about it, so he just decided that he didn't need to be worried about it. Still, it was quite an interesting thing to witness, and it seemed to make the little girl very happy. Then Elsa turned back to him and gave a full comment on the sword, then asked about himself.

“Thank you. I've been working the forge since I was a child, when I helped my father. When he passed the forge became mine, and I've been working every day to get better at it, and keep him proud,” he explained, remembering the first time his father asked him to help at the forge. Now he couldn't think of anything else that he wanted to do in life. People from all over would come ask him for weapons, and then they would tell others to see him in Riverwood. He really had begun to make a name for himself, and it was starting to spread quickly.
Sadon was a bit surprised when Anna suddenly appeared, as if lurking in the crowd like a lion waiting to jump on its pray. By the way she had jumped on Kristoff's back, he could tell who she was. Although he didn't exactly expect the princess to behave like. Then again, she did end up marrying Kristoff. To him, a woman had to be crazy to do that. He smiled softly at the redhead, giving a small bow as he always would to royalty.

"My travels here went very well, thank you. Although I did end up being a little later than I had hoped, but I wanted to make sure I got everything done right," Sadon said as he looked down at the case underneath his arm. That's when someone's voice caught their attention. At first, Sadon looked around to see who it could possibly belong to. With so many people in this room, it seemed impossible to even find Kristoff and Anna standing right in front of him. Then the source of the voice had made their way to the small group. Sadon was amazed at the woman who came to join them. She was beautiful, and the dress she wore made her look even more amazing. That's when he heard Anna introduce her as Elsa, and he was a bit surprised to not hear her title at all.

"Your majesty," Sadon said as he bowed in respect, "thank you." As he stood up straight again, he pulled the case out from under his arm and held it out to her so she could see her name on top. "This was specially crafted for you, thanks to a letter from Kristoff."

The letter Kristoff had sent described Elsa enough for Sadon to think of how to design the sword. As he stood there waiting for her to open the case, he felt as if time had stopped. Was he nervous? Why would he be? He had done this plenty of times to other people of such royal titles, yet Elsa seemed to make him feel different. Whatever he felt, he didn't know what it was. He wasn't one for really exploring his feelings, and whatever this feeling was now was new to him.
The flames of the forge burned extra hot that day. All the blades for battle had been pushed aside for a special order. Sadon had received a letter from an old friend of his, one he hadn't seen in years. It was from Kristoff, explaining that he was now married to the princess of Arendelle and that the Queen's twenty-fifth birthday was coming up. He requested Sadon make her a royal blade, which Sadon had done many times before for other royalty. But this one was the most important order he ever had. It was for his best friend, and being asked to do this over a blacksmith in Arendelle made him feel proud.

Sweat dripped from the blacksmith's forehead as he stood over the flames, hammering at the blade so it would take shape. On his work bench was a black case with a red felt interior. On top he had engraved “Queen Elsa” in gold, cursive writing. He wiped away the sweat with a rag, finally getting the blade to the shape he wanted. Setting it to cool, he got himself some water and took a deep breath. Looking at the rapier he crafted, he realized he had never worked so hard on a sword in his life. Only because Kristoff had requested it did he put more care into it.

Once the blade was finally cooled, Sadon sharpened and shined it, then placed in its scabbard and set it in the case. Looking at the time, he knew he would be arriving late to the party. A sigh escaped his lips as he got himself ready, then walked to the stable behind his house. Not knowing anything else about the Queen of Arendelle, he wondered how she would respond to this stranger presenting her with a blade crafted for royalty.

The ride from Riverwood was quite long, and when he arrived at the kingdom he requested that one of the servants get his horse some water and something to eat. Then he walked up the stairs and into the main ballroom where everyone had gathered. Never before had he seen so many people in one place. He scanned the room, looking for the only person he would know, but saw no sign of his old friend. Then he suddenly felt someone bear hug him from behind, and he could have sworn he was lifted five feet in the air.

“You know one of these times I will turn around and knock you out,” Sadon said as he readjusted his posture, then turned to face Kristoff. If anyone else saw this face, they'd be afraid of the blacksmith. But the icemaster knew better, and only let out a laugh.

“You're slipping! You don't seem as serious as you used to all those years ago!” The large blonde man continued laughing, and Sadon offered a small smile and light chuckle.

“Don't worry, I'll scare you again one of these days.”

“All bark and no bite. I'm glad you made it. It's really good to see you again Sadon.”

“Good to see you too Kristoff. I was really surprised when your letter arrived. It's been years since we last talked and suddenly you write to me saying you've married the princess of Arendelle and want me to craft a blade for the Queen. You've always been full of surprises,” Sadon patted Kristoff on the shoulder, wondering where his wife was among this large crowd.
Long time bump. Returning to the Guild as best I can.
