Speaking from experience, ignorance can be a real pain sometimes. I mean, it's nice to not have to deal with some things, but for a lot of other things that one might not know, other people still do and it just gets frustrating not being able to understand what they go on about. That's why I used to have trouble understanding the concept of 'ignorance is bliss', because a lot of the time in my past, it just frustrated me more than it kept me happy. It might also be one of the reasons why I can't trust my own judgement.
You surround your self with those who were intelligent but let's not forget that everyone is ignorant, it's just to the degree that really matters.

Not always and even then they can't tell what's true or false.
You would be ruining there life they would no longer be happy with what they previously had.

I doubt that. With a education you get better job, with better job, you get more money, with more money you are able to satisfy your happiness in todays Materialistic society.
Ha but only a ignorant would take joy in materialistic things someone who isn't ignorant would no longer be happy.
