The sun was already high in the sky and her room was flooded with light when she began stirring but she was long past being woken by it now. Rolling over to look at the time she saw it was nearing midday, meaning it would be... almost seven in New York. With a sigh she got out of bed and padded into the bathroom, stretching as she walked.

A short while later she sat in her kitchen eating breakfast though her main attention was directed to the book before her. The only sound that could be heard was the turning of pages and the purring of the black cat curled on her lap, who she occasionally fed a bite of bacon to. But the peace could not last and she was forced to scoop up the cat and place her on the floor before heading upstairs to dress, bearing in mind what Mimic had said. Messy; how joyous.
Yay, finished my essay! Irrelevant but everyone at home is asleep so why not. Now to see if I can think of something to post or if I'll crawl into bed..

Anyone get to a point where they just don't want to post at all yet you still like and are interested in the roleplay? Because I've hit that spot.

Yeah, I know what you mean, a lot of it is my own fault because I'm always worried I'm going to bother people but that's my issue I need to get over :P

I think the valentines dance has lead to so many dates and it'll be easier to post when the next day starts :)
As she sent back the finer shards he jumped up, satisfied with what he had seen. With a few pulses of his wings he cleared the attack and ensured none would hit him before landing near her. "Not bad at all, you don't favour one element over the others, keeps you unpredictable. Now you've just got to start thinking bigger. Ok, you can go, class is practically over now." He said with a dismissive gesture.
The wasn't much satisfaction in the attack sticking, he was obviously superior after having so much more experience, however whatever resemblance to smugness he had quickly disappeared as the ground swallowed his feet, holding on to him securely. Trying to shift his weight he felt it give a little, meaning he just needed to further loosen the ground. Firing lasers at the ground around his feet the floor fractured allowing him to pull his feet free. But not quick enough, he managed to begin to turn but did not escape the attack as the slab hit his side, sending him to the floor with a groan. Firing a laser at the arching slab, causing it to shatter, he picked up large shards and threw them, beating his wings to power them even further. Could she still control her powers under higher pressure?

Holding her ground she twisted the gale around herself and pushed it back against the wall of fire. The flames scattered which obstructed their view. Moving to the left she didn't want to get caught standing in the same place. Likely to give herself away in the process she tried to find Mimic with her telepathy.

After years of teaching and a fair number of encounters with telepaths he recognised the sensation and knew what she was doing. He'd attacked back with elements, now it was time to really push her out of her comfort zone. Kicking up he quickly flew up and over, landing behind her. "So, you've shown me fire and air, am I going to get the full show before we're finished?" He gave away his location but he didn't give her much time to react as he gave a low, sweeping kick to try and knock her feet out from under her.
Her attention was naturally caught by the fire, as she watched the fight on the screen. Obviously it was too be expected, out of all the students it would be foolish to think that none would have any control over fire, or heat at all for that matter. Not knowing who, however, was not a situation she was comfortable with so it was always something she made sure to notice. So she went from half-hearted glances at the screen to watching intently: the stronger she was the more of a threat she was and the more Kat needed to know her weaknesses.
I haven't been against him yet, but I always seem to be asleep when PD happens so it's understandable :P
Kat spent the class as usual, half watching the screen but also watching the students in the room. Fighting was predictable and repititive, people were never so disappointing. The amount who didn't see through Mimic was though, why do people have this ingrained blind respect for authority? Maybe she 'd have to make good on that 'mindless drone' promise one day.
As Kat walked into the room she took a final bite of the apple and threw the core in the bin at a distance just far enough to be considered impressive. She was feeling significantly better after the night before - gods bless this weak Midgardian drink - however the prospect of this class did help to drag her mood back down to scrape the floor. She slumped into one of the chairs, running a hand through her hair and pulling it over her shoulder, examining the ends as if it were far more entertaining than this class could ever be.
