John sits in his usual spot and leans back in his seat, already dangerously close to falling asleep.
Anthony enters the class and sits next to Ben, who had been there for a few minutes. He leans over and asks quietly, "Ben, have you noticed that over the past month, your canine teeth have grown noticeably more pronounced?"
Ben shakes his head and frowns as he pokes the aforementioned teeth. He jerks his hand away in surprise when he feels the deceitfully sharp teeth, then says, "That's really weird. I guess it happened so slowly that I grew accustomed to it without ever noticing it. Kind of like how a frog won't jump out of water that's slowly brought to a boil. What do you think it means?"
Anthony shrugs, "It's obviously latent mutant physiological changes. If your father indeed has spider DNA fused with his, you might simply be evolving more than he did, and they may be fangs. If you want, after classes, I could see if I can extract any venom from them. If I am able to extract some, I will most likely have to wait until tomorrow to analyze it."
Ben smiles, "That'd be a really awesome power to have. Just sneak up on someone and kill them with one bite. Thanks Luthor."
