When Sue tells Anthony that the others hate him, he replies, "There was a man named Martin Luthor King Jr., and he said this:
'We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love. There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us. When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies'.
The reason I don't react in anger is because I recognize that one day I may encounter them again, and they might have the ability to help or hinder me. With this in mind, it simply isn't wise to hold grudges."
When he sees what Sue is signing to Connor, he reaches out and takes her hands in his, interrupting her. Once he has her attention, his eyes turn violet as he whispers soothingly, "Don't worry about them, just do your best when it's your turn. After all, they love you, they won't judge you." As he speaks, he wipes the tears away from her eyes and smiles warmly.
