"Well that's because translating my thoughts into something you cretins can understand is quite tiresome," Anthony thinks before saying with a smile, "Like I said, I'm just a very curious man. I enjoy my privacy immensely, but I'll answer one question from each of you, if you'd like."

"The only reason they're probably making a fuss about it is because NYC is so close to the Academy. You know how the normals view us. As far as they're concerned, if you're not a famous hero, you're a freak." Ben says.

Anthony lets out a soft chuckle as he answers, "Oh, you shouldn't worry about whether or not you're progressing at the rate I thought you would." Then, with one eyebrow raised, he asks, "Why do you think that I always have a hidden motive?"

Ben looks Jack in the eye as he asks, "What exactly did the news say? Did they say who he was going after?"

Ben frowns as Flood appears suddenly and asks to speak with him. "Um, do I know you?" Ben asks the peculiar student just as Jack arrives. When Jack mentions Thanatos, Ben glares at him for a fraction of a second before shrugging nonchalantly. "Eh, who knows. Might turn out to just be some punk that's hopped up on PCP. Besides, I'm sure no one's stupid enough to attack a building with hundreds of superpowered students and a staff made up of some of the most powerful beings on Earth." He turns to Kalinda and says, "I'm not sure if you've met him, but this is Jack, my little brother." He glances at Flood as he continues, "I don't have any clue who the other guy is, though."

Anthony briefly looks up from his lunch and replies, "I like to keep track of my contemporaries' progress. It's interesting to see whether or not they meet my expectations."

Mimicking Kalinda, Ben shrugs as he replies, "You haven't had a successful hunt unless your prey is dead." He opens the door to the cafeteria for her and asks, "What do you usually eat here?"

Instead of answering Ryan's question, Anthony asks his own, "Tell me speedster, what have you learned thus far at the Academy? I've noticed your speed has increased slightly, but other than that, I haven't been paying much attention to your studies."

On a small TV in the corner of the cafeteria, a news reporter speaks, "Lately the Big Apple has seen a rash of particularly gruesome night-time murders. Our sources claim that the suspect leaves this signature written in blood at the scene of each crime:
