I've surprisingly seen a small amount of these RPs, but that's only natural considering this particular RPG is only a few days old! Now, I know that there are other superhero RPs out there already, but I've noticed that they sometimes require extensive writing (in the advanced section), for players to use an already existing character from a series, or for them to choose an ability for their characters from an already established list. Not saying that these ideas are bad or anything, but I think a bit of more freedom would be nice, especially in something like this.

Elements from both Marvel and DC Universe can be included here, so people can feel free to use ideas from there to make their own Lantern Corps member or antiheroic symbiote (like I have already), or pretty much anything else you can think of so long as it's had some thought and effort put into it and not capable of beating the shit out of somehting like Galactus with little to no effort at all. Players would also be free to begin their own arcs and grand schemes of evil to add in some more interesting things to the RP, but by and by I myself will be including plotlines for everyone to follow.

So... the question now is would anyone be interested?

Good to see you to man! How's everything?

"Ah..." Kijani wasn't sure what to say to that. She'd known about her powers young, and had it impressed upon her mind that she was wrong, a freak, not to be discussed. She half remembered showing her parents what she could do, around 6 years old. It wasn't much, but it was something. They'd reacted like their child had stood in front of them and wet herself. "Well, I haven't been to school in a while." She bit into her sandwich, taking the time to chew and formulate her next statement. "I dropped out. I'd learned everything required of me for the diploma- the rest of it was just... nonsense." She'd wanted to use a somewhat stronger word, but vulgarity didn't come easy to her.

"Hm, interesting. I've heard of gifted students being able to get out of school way before their time, so it must have been something to be proud of. I could probably easily do the same you did, but then... I'd probably have nothing to do other than maybe use my powers for the good of all and all that typical superhero talk. Keeping an aspect of 'normal life' can be a good distraction now and then too, if that makes any sense."

Gabriel began to wonder what he'd actually do with his abilities. So far the most he'd done with them is replicate a scene from Alien with his stepdad's visage and burn a hole through an obstacle course. He had done some other things with them in between, but nothing too extraordinary or noticeable. Taking up the role of a superhero seemed interesting, but their methods and philosophies were... inefficient in Gabriel's opinion. He was more for the philosophy of a vigilante going by the name of Abaddon. A symbiote-super, like Venom and Carnage, but with a plethora of other abilities at his disposal. This guy didn't screw around, he would actually make disturbing massacres of gangs, criminal organizations, and pretty much anything that decided to prey on "innocent" people. If his targets didn't wind up looking like something like a real life SAW victim, they'd wind up missing without a trace.
Now that was effective vigilantism right there. No "give them a chance", no stupid Superman ideal of "they are good at heart and have the potential to show this". Swift, brutal justice.

"Sorry, got a bit lost in thought. Sad thing to hear that your parents branded you as abnormal. I never got why 'humans' view our kind as a disease. If anything, we're an improvement to human condition..."
Name: Seth Halver

Age: 17

Image:

Years at Camp: 6-7 years.

Godly Parent: Hecate

Abilities

1. Magic- A broad, inclusive power which all children of Hecate share. Seth's abilities are more attuned to the darker path of magic, allowing him to create a variety of curses, mystical runes (used for traps and conjurings), and powerful offensive spells. His spells typically take on the forms of a malicious black energy or sturdy, jagged crystalline structures through which he can use as conduits or "batteries" for his magical powers. The crystals are solidified magic energy, and can be converted back to their natural state at Seth's command. If damaged or completely destroyed, they can repair themselves over time.

2. Resilience against things originating from the realms of the Big Three- Since Hecate was given authority over the three major realms, Seth has a passive yet notable ability of being tougher towards the creatures and powers drawn from these realms.

Weapon: Seth typically fashions himself a red crystal sword infused with mystical, black fire. Like his other crystal constructs, the sword is solidified magic and is therefore harder to even scratch than it looks.

Fatal Flaw(s): Ambition, Audacity, and Pride.

Other: Personality and backstory will be developed throughout RP.

You know I'm up for this anytime!
Gabriel shook Kijani's hand.

"My name's Gabriel," he said simply as he retracted his arm and took another bite of his sandwich. "I've usually gone to normal schools before this whole power discovery thing. It was... rather surprising to say the least..."

He left out enjoyable on purpose. It was bad enough that he had scarred a man beyond recognition, but actually enjoying it? That shouted out psycho. Not that Gabriel cared if he was secretly crazy or not, he always did feel yearnings for making people who've wronged him or done something bad suffer, so he wouldn't be surprised if he had some sadistic condition in his head.

I like that color! Dude it stands out against the dark greens and blues.

But it's soooo girly....

Which is ironic considering I admittedly watch MLP when I get bored. Screw logic.

Kijani showed him the cover while keeping her place in the book with her finger. "Real Murders. Charlaine Harris. It's a murder mystery with an amatuer sleuth librarian. Not exactly high literature. But sometimes I like to take it easy, and read something I don't have to analyze, you know?" She wasn't sure if he did know, or if she was just prattling on without making sense.

"Hm... actually yes. I typically read old Greek and Medieval stuff when I get bored and am feeling philosophical. Most people would just take the stories as typical legends, but what they fail to get is that they're often written to convey a message or an important question. Falls from glory, a loss of everything, catharsis is intriguing in general."

Gabriel looked at the title once again, and then back to Kijani. He hadn't gotten her name yet, but he was surprised that she had been willing to keep up a conversation with him. Most people wouldn't even bother, kind of like that Phoebe and Ryan couple he met earlier.

"I'm Gabriel by the way. You are?"

Something like this was a first, Gabriel rarely went out of his way to do these things.
I have that fricking pink square to indicate myself -_-...

Kijani raised her eyebrows and lowered her book, flashing a quick unbidden smile at Gabriel. This wasn't the first time she'd forgotten food. "I.. ah... was going to eat later." In truth she'd tucked away a wrapped sandwich in her inner suit pocket, planning to eat it later in peace. "But I appreciate the gesture." She took what he'd offered her, unwrapped a corner and took a bite. "...and to answer your question, yes. I read a good book, and the rest of the world sort of... leaves." Which is why she never realized she'd accidentally snubbed Ben. She literally had not heard him.

"I've had that happen a few times," Gabriel said before taking a sip of his soda. "It's easy to get drawn into something you enjoy anyway, so there's no question as to why. What book are you reading by the way?"

Gabriel did actually enjoy reading now and then, though he mostly stuck to a few particular authors and only read new books when he was sure he'd actually like the ideas the book claimed to have.
Yeah, we kind of do need something solid other than a "slice of life" styled RP. Those things get stale really fast which is why I never bother to join them.

A powerful villain appearing is something I thought of too, but this can get pretty old too if its just your typical "time to save the day scenario". Something I thought of to tie in nicely with my idea for the appearance of Red Rings (and other recruiting Corps.) was that there was something big about to go down. Maybe we can start by increasing criminal activity around the school and home of the students, and then gradually build things up to where there are even rogue supers attempting to assassinate them. What does all this lead up to? Don't know yet, but probably something like that asshole Braniac wanting to take over the world again, or something of that level.
