Marc didn't realize Avery was back when he finished talking and felt embarrassed. Even thought they weren't actually super powered, his senses were of the highest human caliber. She just doesn't have much of a presence because of how timid she is, he thought.
"Oh hey! Well, I don't know about you but I'm starving, as I'm sure my stomach let on, so if you don't mind, I'd like to head over to the cafeteria and grab a quick bite, then we can head over to the gymnastics facility and goof off there for a bit. It's been a while since I've done any gymnastics so I need to get back into things!"
What Marc said was true he hadn't done gymnastics since he was 14, but all he needed to see were a few opening moves and his muscle memory would come flooding back, like a well being re filled by the rain. As he walked he slowly turned his neck and legs and arms, working the tension out of each of them in preparing for any moves that didn't come with the general martial arts agenda.
Marc smiled, he had no plans of joining either club. He wasn't very good at either thing.
"Sorry, but those things I'm not too good at, I heard you say that you were in gymnastics, and I'm good at that. If you're willing we can join that!" His stomach growled again, less loudley this time. Avery made a comment of how she needed to stop in the ladies room and Marc certainly was in no position to stop her, nor did he want to. "Ya sure, go right ahead, I'll go sign up for the gymnastics club since that's the only other thing I can think is want to do." Marc lightly jogged off to the gymnastics counter and signed in. Behind the counter was a sophomore girl. Light, fit, clearly a gymnast.
"So I've gotta ask, what's a really built guy like yourself doing in the gymnastics clubs why not something like football, or basketball?" She asked.
"Thanks! But those sports bore me, they're not enough fun, things like martial arts, parkour, and gymnastics are where the real excitement is at. Constantly perfecting the smallest things until you're the best you can be!"
The girl nodded her head. "So you're in to martial arts huh? Are you like a black belt?"
Marc responded, " More like a worldwide master of five different martial arts, hopefully going in six. Hey I have to run, I'll talk to you at practice...what's your name?"
"Janice." She said.
"I'll remember that name!" He spoke as he walked away.
So wait someone said a teacher position was open, I'm confused
I imagine it is, but is it to late to join?
Marc looked at Avery, he felt a bit awkward. He wasn't sure why, she seemed as if she was trying to keep away from him. It may have just been her small stature, but it felt like something else, too. His stomach grumbled, loudly. He imagined that Avery probably heard it, too. He didn't really mind to much, he'd just gone running and it was only natural for a growing young man to be hungry after working out. He thought about anymore clubs to do. He couldn't think of any, but he wasn't sure.
"Hey, Avery what clubs are you doing? I'm still thinking of signing up for one more and I'd like to at least have one acquaintance in a club. After I sign up I'm going to go and grab some food in the cafeteria, care to join me?"
Marc was trying his absolute best not to treat the girl like a child, she was his age and deserved to be treated so. The only problem was that she looked remarkably like his youngest cousin Janice. It was very awkward. Marc steeled himself and tried to focus on things other than her size.
Sorry about not posting for a while, I'm having a ridiculous writers block and can't even get out a decent post. I'll do my beet to get one up today.
Marc turned and faced the small young lady. What kind I martial arts did he do? He couldn't remember them all, 6 main martial arts were what he did, but the names he always forgot. Pride swelled in his throat, but he kept it calm and said, "Well I do six, five ive mastered, one I'm learning. The five I'm not learning I'm considered the world wide master of, but I hate telling people that, this is strictly for informative purposes. If either of you want, if be happy to help you with any training you'd like. I'm really good at gymnastics, martial arts, anything along those sort of lines. I'm always learning though, so I can keep teaching."
He hoped that was an adequate explanation, it'd come to him either way. He looked at her, she was cute, but not his type, it wasn't the shortness, he didn't care about that, timidness wasn't big to him, but she seemed nice, he'd try to be a friend.
"Anyway, I hope we can be friends... I'm sorry, but I'm not familiar with your name, what is it?"
Marc chuckled at the instantaneous reaction that spring from Matt's nervous system. It was a good reaction, perhaps a tad over played, but it would've been the proper thing to do on a dark night in a sketchy alleyway. Marc had never done that because his reaction speed had always been fast enough to block a punch or kick when it came at him without putting his hands up. Clearly Matt knew about martial arts, and did them because he recognized Marc by sight. He called him master too, Marc thought it was funny, knowing it was a joke he laughed.
"Just Marc will do!" He boomed, then got into a conversational tone. " I just came from te sign up station for martial arts, looks like a lot of competition. Haven't heard any of the names though, was yours on there?"
I'm goin to play a guy too so that evens it out!
I'll bite, CS will be up in a day or so.
