The Valkyrie watched closely as to how this handshake action worked, and was correct with it being a greeting. “I believe we may have to look for the master. Although I’m not quite sure what they look like,” She responded, taking several steps so she could get a better look around. Solan looked around with great interest. The inside was that of a tavern, not really what she expected the hall to look like, but it wasn’t like she was disappointed. The vibe to the hall was nice and welcoming. There were a few members around but she was curious why no one wanted to greet them or anything.

Suddenly a rather intimidating man who carried his armor approached them. She wasn’t sure if he were a member, but Solan could feel his staring. She felt a bit self-conscious, and folded her wings a bit tighter across her back. “Yes, we tend to not leave home as often,” she said with a small laugh, “And apologizes on behalf of the previous Valkyrie you met, I promise not to do the same.” Solan suddenly remembered the new greeting she had just learned, and reached for the man’s hand and attempted to shake it, much like Heloise had did.

Arden, who had been on the floor quietly, was immediately clambering onto her shoulder, emitting a hiss from his beak much like his feline half would. Solan looked back at the entrance and noticed a girl with similar white hair approach them. By her side was a rather large canine that was the reason for her griffin’s distress. She rolled her eyes at her companion, remembering the much larger bear he was trying to take on their journey here. She greeted the girl, and apologized once more, this time for the behavior for her creature.

Several more people entered the hall, some, like her, appeared new and looked to join. She definitely wasn’t alone today and she was eager to join right away. Then, there was an outburst close by. A girl with red hair shouted accusingly at a man before picking up the chair she was sitting on and threw it at his face.

Solan wasn’t as concerned for the man as she should have been but leaned towards Heloise, “Is…is that another greeting?” She asked, eying a chair and was ready to do the same.

“Oh good! I’m kinda glad it’s not just my first day here,” Solan laughed, “Yes, greetings! I’m Solan, it’s very nice to meet you, Heloise!” She was thankful people around here were kind, and she felt more at ease.

The girl looked like that of a human, but it appeared from her eyes she was perhaps of elven lineage. Based off the bow she carried, she must be an archer. Solan hoped they would be good friends later on.

Solan eyed the gestured made by the girl, and figured it was a sort of greeting. She mimicked her, although not doing so correctly by not making contact. It was her first day, she’ll hopefully grasp customs sooner or later.

Solan paced back and forth just outside the entrance to Sersia. This would be the first human town she’d ever set foot and, and to be quite frank, she was nervous. Looking down, she realized a few feathers had fallen off, and stopped herself, knowing there wasn’t any reason to worry. She looked to her companion for comfort.
“I mean, it’s not like their ready to tie to a stake a burn me, right? I mean people now are more accepting, I met plenty of people on my way here, and they treated me like their own!”

Arden, her griffin, had simply rolled his eyes, having been ready to go inside the town for about ten minutes now. Solan took this as an agreement, and with a nod, she turned and marched into Sersia.

“This is it, Arden! New opportunities are waiting for us! New friends to make and adventures to go on! Now then,” Solan stopped, looking around for the guild, “If only I knew how to get there.”

After asking for directions, Solan followed them precisely and arrived at her destination. Once she spotted the hall, the Valkyrie was filled to the brim with excitement. It will be here she’ll prove herself worthy of joining such a guild. They just had to accept her, she had so much potential! Solan quickly ran inside, making a rather big entrance.

“Iron Tree! Sign me up!”

Name: Solan Freya

Age: 40

Race: Valkyrie-

They are race that isn’t frequently seen around anymore. They are humanoids, and can even blend in with humans; however, something that differentiates them would be the wings protruding from their backs. It takes a long time for them to learn how to fly, and often need to learn how from winged creatures such as birds. They live long lifetimes, similar to that of elves. Only a handful are able to accompany the dead to the afterlife, and must journey around the world to learn more about before even being considered for this noble of jobs. Valkyries have a peculiar sort of sixth sense that tells them if someone nearby is about to die. They are sometimes known as “Angels of death” and are feared by some who believe they bring death to anyone they meet.

Physical Description: She is an average height of about five foot four, and is on the rather scrawny side. Solan has little feminine curve much to her discomfort. Her skin is a nice dark tan as she enjoys being in the sun. She has lovely snow white hair that is cut in a short bob that reaches a little past her neck. She is young for her kind, and would be equivalent to that of a young adult. Given so, her face still has a youthful roundness to it, and her crimson eyes still have a naïve curious look to them.

Like those of her kind, she has a pair of feathery wings protruding from her back that is a fine white, matching her hair. When extended, her wingspan is a simple ten feet, that being each wing is only about five feet in length. When she matures, her wingspan will grow, which won’t be long, but she cannot fly yet. Given her youth, her wings are covered in soft down feathers with few flight feathers coming in. Much like a bird, when she’s stressed, she sheds feathers. Her wings also sometimes portray her emotions, such as when she’s excited, her wings may flap wildly. As she can’t fly, she can glide sometimes if she’s perched high enough.

Solan wears a button up high collar dark gray top that lacks sleeves. The back extends in twin tails that trail behind her, almost reaching the floor. The back of her shirt cuts off so her wings to the center of her back as to allow her wings freedom. Her pants are dark brown and cut off at her shins, and have a dark blue belt to hold them up and have several pouches to hold things. She wears light grey fingerless gloves that have folded over cuffs. On her feet she has simple brown boots. She has a headband accessory that is metallic silver and on either side of her head over her ears it has small wings

Personality: She is very inquisitive, and after hiding from the world, she wants to learn everything about it. She doesn't understand customs that take place outside of her home very well, and can be a bit awkward at times due to her misunderstandings of situations. She’s innocent, and could be very easily taken advantages of, which would be her downfall, as she is too trusting. She is also very kind and happy to each and every one, which is the opposite most expect for being an “angel of death”. Having little experience in the world previous to her sheltered life, she has little fear as to the possible dangers the world hides. Given so, she can seem rather reckless in risky situations.

History: Her village is known as Erian, and is only home to her people. Her home wasn’t always hidden from those who weren’t Valkyrie, but until recently, so few leave their tribes, in fear of the outside world, and the known discrimination against the Valkyrie. The myth that they brought death to anyone they met had spread, and with fear others held against them came violence. As a result, Solan had lived a sheltered life. For most of her life, she's trained in specializing in her own magic. Magic is a rare talent amongst her people, and she hoped it was her ticket to freedom.

Solan believes the world has changed from those times, so she studied magic under the wing of her teacher, an elder woman who also had the gift of magic and the same hope for the outside. She would be able to protect herself in the outside, so they granted her the ability to leave her home and go on an adventure, and she left as soon as she could.

Having traveled for a few weeks, she had heard of a well-known guild called Iron Tree. She knew of guilds from books, and decided the best way for her to learn more about the outside world as well gain new friends, she’d join this guild.

Class: Novice Mage

Full list of combat skills:

-When her flight feathers come in, she’ll have both stealth and flight

- Her magic revolves mostly around light and air magic.

-With light magic, she can use it to brighten up a room, by which of carrying an orb of light. She can also use it to blind opponents. As she is still new to using magic, the only offensive light magic she can use is that of a small beam. With training, she may learn more light spells for combat as well more supportive spells.

-With air magic, she usually uses it to blow away her foes as she doesn’t do well with close combat. An offensive spell she can use is that of using the air to cut things. It’s not accurate as once again, she’s still a noob, but it can do damage.

-If she is caught up and personal in battle, she has some experience with using a dagger.

Extra Details: As common to Valkyrie having a winged follower, she has the companionship of a male griffin that goes by the name of Arden. He’s young, as given to her upon her departure of home. He’s rather protective of Solan, and has a tough guy sort of vibe to him. He thinks he’s ten feet tall when in reality he’s about the size of a large house cat.

I'll be posting my CS in a bit.

I also vote present tense! Oh gosh, I really enjoy the idea of Makarov as guild master.

I'm rather interested! It reminds me of Fairy Tail!

Question about magic! Are the spells based more around the elements or can we get a bit more creative with them? An example being perhaps supporting magic or whatever, to temporary boost a group member's strength or something like that.

Also would a familiar/follower be acceptable?
I'm also interested!

I may try out a mercenary character or something along those lines.

Also given it's a fantasy based, are there an assortment of races, or just humans?
