A really nice post. What would be a nice addition, however, that Seth would have some kind of knowledge about the 6 Great Houses of Veiron and their relic weapons. Maybe something along the lines of "Those fools with their fancy weapons did nothing!"

Well, in Nianxi's case, it's not a demon inside thing, not much really. The demon attack damaged her soul itself, taking away her ability to use magic, and creating a schism in her personality. Xiandra is the demonic version of Nianxi's repressed personality. Since they share the same body, neither of them is stronger than one another, they do, however, have different fighting styles.

Once a beautiful mansion, now just charred ruins, burning eternally from the demonic fire. Nianxi wasn't even sure why she came back here. The remains of Serilya mansion didn't really do much for her morale, and a chance that any books survived were slim, and the books that she needed - even slimmer. She had a few other mercs escort her, promising them anything else they find valuable in the mansion. It pained her to let lowlifes loot her former home, but it was too dangerous for her to go alone. Even though it was the outskirs of the city, some demons roamed here too, and at her current state she could barely take on an imp, the most pitiful and weak of the demons. Nianxi knew that she was missing something - she knew of the swords feat, and yet, it is as if it was hiding it's power from her. She saw her father cutting through thick sheets of steel with ease using Serilya, as well as amazing healing abilities. Her Serilya wasn't much better than a regular sword, with pathetic healing capabilities. That's why she came, to find something about Serilya, some kind of information about it, to unleash it's true potential.

Fortunately, the mansion wasn't looted, however it was barely holding apart, and a lot of rooms were destroyed. Fortunately, library was not, seeing as it was in the basement. While the mercenary escorts shouted with glee, looting all the expensive things they saw, rummaging through the rubble. She was never a fan of reading, so navigating the library which spanned nearly through all the underground space below her mansion was an issue. The mercs were too busy stuffing their bags with all they can find to interrupt Nianxi. "Nothing more than savages. Where will they even use all that gold and silver.." she thought to herself. Eventually, after hours of search, she found several books, though they were written in an unknown language, seemingly ancient. Their titles were written in the common language however: "The Legend of the Six" and "The Crimson Blade". Hopefully, out of all the rabble in the mercenary camp, there were a few "exotic" people who haven't left yet. As she started to head out, she heard screams of the mercs above. Moments after, incomprehensible pain came over all of her body, forcing her to the ground. But then, something curious, and quite frightening happened.

Nianxi felt as if all her senses were dampened, control of her body slowly fading away. The agony also slowly fading away. And then, her body started moving on it's own, as she has lost all control. From above, she could hear a voice that can only be described as demonic, it was a simple "WHAT?!. Her body, still carrying those books in hand, left the basement library. Above, Nianxi saw the mercs lying near a humanoid figure, reeling in pain. In front of her stood a pale, humanoid figure.

"Now, what are you? At first I sensed four humans her, but as soon as I gave your mind a few love taps, you turned into a demon. Well, aside from the looks. Is this some kind of new infiltration trick? the demon asked. To Nianxi's horror, her body started talking on it's own: "Indeed, what's a better way to gain their trust and infiltrate them from within? I can get all information I need, and end them all if it's required. And as such, it would be nice if left them more or less sane and alive, it would draw a little bit less suspicion. The demon approached her, walked around her, observing her features: "You could fool even me, you look, and smell like a true human, and even can disguise your own soul as human! Though you should show some manners, I am a Demon Lord after all. But since I am not that well known, you're forgiven. Let us introduce ourselves - I am Demon Lord Menos. "I am.... Xiandra." Nianxi was horrified. She was in no control of her body, and whatever was in control, was a demon, which called itself Xiandra. Nice to meet you, Xiandra. Now, since it seems you even deceived me, I'll leave you to your business. And here I thought I'll get to play with a few humans. Oh well. After taking one last look around. Menos snapped his fingers and disappeared. Moreover, the mercs were released of the torture spell, though still unconscious. "You will thank me later, Nianxi. We will have time for questions later. For now, tell those broken sods on the ground that you hid from the demon, and that he left when he didn't find what he wanted after they wake up. And don't worry, I lied to Menos. Was that Xiandra talking to Nianxi? Either way, Nianxi felt her senses return, as well as control, though in the back of her head, the voice of Xiandra persisted. "Don't you worry, you and I, are one, so are our goals. You may be scared of me now, but I am sure we will become the best of friends. After all, I am your repressed, demonified side of personality! Hahaha.

After the mercs woke up, they surprisingly believed the story, after all, for a demon lord, regular humans are mere insects, and it couldn't be bothered with squashing a few lowly mercs. After picking up all their bags, and Nianxi taking her books, they head back to the camp. Now more than ever, Nianxi needed answers, about her sword, about her family, and about her "other self".

Glad you like them. As I said before, these weapons, as their original owners are literal legends - there are no mortals that know the truth about their creation, or the original owners. And the bonding criteria to unlock more power from the weapon, as well as the method in which the weapons gain the required energy to unleash their powers (like blood for Serilya) will up to you to create.

What DO you see? Anyway, as promised.

While I will leave the main revelation about the Relic Weapons of the Great Houses for IC when needed, here's the basic idea. Long long ago there were 6 great heroes on some heroic quest. Nobody knows WHAT that quest was, except it was serious. As all heroic adventurers do, they sure loot the corpses of the enemies they've slain for various stuff. It is said that those weapons were made with the greatest materials and most powerful magics ever known, and no one was able to replicate those weapons, not even close. Eventually, the heroes were given the highest titles of nobility by the kingdom they've saved, and their families were named after them, as well as their weapons.

(I will describe their properties and their peak power, the rest is up to you to create.) The relic weapons all share a few things in common. One, is that their literal power, such as sharpness starts normal (compared to regular weapons of the same type), and increases as the wielder "bonds" with it. The criteria of "bonding" is different for each weapon, and it is only (will be) known for Serilya at the moment. Second, they are all enchanted so only their respective bloodlines would be able to pick it up, though such protections aren't very complex, and could be removed, especially by demonic magic. Third, all relic weapons need some kind of external energy to power their features, such as blood for Serilya. For others, it's up to you to decide (I'm out of ideas).

The Relic Weapons of the Great Houses:

1.Serilya, the Crimson Blade - a sword made of what appears to be some kind of crimson crystal. The sword drains blood from the wounds it inflicts, absorbing and storing it somewhere inside. That blood is used to active the special powers the sword can unleash, the most basic being healing. If it has no blood within it's reserves, it will draw it from it's wielder. Powers unleashed with own blood are dramatically bolstered in power, as well as increasing the "bond" with the sword. However, careless use of own blood can lead to a quick and stupid death. It is said that the original owner of Serilya was able to unleash, what was called, a Blood Storm.

2.Sigaros, the Shimmering Bow

- A bow made of what seems like glimmering steel, it launches arrows with unprecedented precision. With a bit of bonding, one can summon arrows of pure light to fire. It's power is just that, various tricks including searing light and arrows. It said the great hero wielding this bow shot a single arrow into the sky, only for thousand bolts of light to land.

3.Grax, the Obsidion Greathammer

- A rather mundane looking Greathammer, it has no bloodline lock on it, as it requires massive strength to pick it up, let alone to use it as a weapon. With it's brute power, it can and was used a siege weapon, shattering walls with ease. It's dominion is over earth (shocking, I know). It is said that the great hero who first wielded this weapon was able to send an earth-shattering shockwave towards the approaching undead army, scattering them and burying them within the ravaged ground.

4.Erina, the Fiery Scythe

- a staff which can become a scythe, with a "tail" at it's back that can be used as a whip. Extremely versatile and unpredictable weapon, it has dominion over fire, death and disease. The scythe the most complex of all the relic weapons, requiring both a lot of practice to master it and learn all it's tricks and powers, and lot's of "bonding". Though it may lack the sheer power of the other relic weapons, one can adapt to nearly any situation with it. The grand wizard who first wielded this weapon was known for his ability to create a tornado of flame, which reanimated all it slain as his servants.

5.Malus, the Azure Spear

- an extremely light spear which is capable of extending at the will of it's wielder, without gaining any weight in the process. It contains powers of wind and thunder, allowing the wielder move at extremely high speeds, delivering lightning-fast strikes, literally. It is said that the original owner of Malus was able to strike about a hundred opponents in a blink of an eye, at the same time.

6.Renele, the Glacial Shield

- At first glance, it looks just like a random formation of ice, extremely brittle. It is, however, extremely durable, as well as able to absorb the kinetic energy of the blows it stops, allowing the wielder to block attacks from creatures far bigger or stronger. The spikes are extremely sharp, and are the weapon part of this shield. It can also be thrown with ease as well, making into a deadly projectile weapon, which can be recalled at any time, provided the wielder has bonded with it enough. The shield has dominion over cold and water, and the great hero using it was able to protect his friends from harm by raising massive pillars of impenetrable ice around his friends to protect them from harm.

Since this is a develop-as-you-go type of RP (at least I think it still is), I would really like to make the remaining 5 (Nianxi has one after all) relic weapons of the Great Houses a major plot point. Though Serilya can only be wielded by Nianxi, who knows what happened to the other 5 and their protective seals. Maybe some powerful demon nabbed one (aka a boss fight), maybe other lies in an armory in the ruins of a mansion, etc. If approved, I'll start working on the features (and backstory) of the relic weapons.

The Anti-Matter Particle Cannon (AMP Cannon for short) - an experimental weapon York stole from a top-secret weapon research facilty. It fires streams of anti-matter, annihilating all matter it comes in contact with. The annihilation effect causes a powerful energy burst - an explosion. It can only be fire once every 10 minutes, during which it actives it's venting mode. The vents release bright white smoke, which can give away York's position. The weapon is extremely precise over long distances, thanks to being an energy weapon. The stream emits a high-pitched sound, similar to screeching, as well as bright white beam coming from York's location. It cannot be concealed, though York has a suitcase designed for it, to make it at least a bit concealed while he moves through public areas.

Spectre Stealth System - A suit capable of making York nearly invisible for short periods of time. It is solar powered, and it takes a few hours of being in direct sunlight for it to recharge fully. A fully charged SSS lasts for about an hour, indefinitely in direct sunlight. Movement, especially sudden, interferes with cloaking, and lessens the intensity of cloaking. It can also activated to create an illusion of clothing, hiding the fact that he's wearing armor. It takes a lot less energy in "Incognito" mode.

Personality: The best way to describe him would be "batshit insane". All he cares about is his reputation, or more likely - his notoriety. He likes danger, he craves it. Most of the things he has done in life, including the theft of AMP Cannon, were so he just because "he could". Though reckless, York is not stupid, and will not attempt which he has not planned down to perfection. Due to the lack of social interactions during his life, he isn't very good at socialising, becomes nervous, etc. York also isn't trustworthy, and will even compromise people close to him, as long as he gains something from that.

Bio: York's talent to be sneaky has been noticed since he was a teen. First, he went to join the militia, though his talents in stealth and infiltration were underappreciated. So he started out as a mercenary thief, and the Spectre Stealth System was one of his first purchases in the black market with the money he earned, a sort of investment for the future. He made sure to take the toughest jobs, until he learned of of "impenetrable" research and weapons development facility, said to house an experimental bleeding - edge weapon. Developed by a crew of multi-racial scientists and engineers, it was supposed to change warfare, once it is complete. Against all odds, he managed to steal the weapon, and destroy the facility while testing it out. Years of work, as well as trillions of funds gone, along with the great minds that developed the weapon.... That set the entire galaxy on the AMP Cannon, and it's current "owner" - York.
