"Yes, this asshole." James glared a bit at Kiri before breaking into a bit of a grin. Hopefully, this class won't be too bad; it would probably depend on just how many attempts on his lives people would make. Of course, that would depend on whether anyone in the class had soul perception, but if one person had it and raised the alarm they just might bumrush him.

Maybe he should have asked for an evening class.

"I'm Mr. Heinson, your homeroom teacher for this year. Before I begin, I would like to list a few ground rules. Those being: I decide when the class ends, not the bell, you are to treat me just as you would treat any of your other teachers such as Sid or Professor Stein, if you have any problems with me being your teacher pick it up with Shinigama-sama himself and, above all, there is to be no battling in my classroom."

James glanced around the aisles to make sure everyone was paying attention. "Do I make myself clear?" he asked, wondering if he was intimidating enough. No, probably not.
James stepped to the side as a boy carrying his partner ran past him into the classroom before yelling "SAFE", probably either believing the teacher wasn't there yet or just simply didn't care. If it was the latter, the oh boy, James was sure off to a lucky start, having such attentive and willing students, wasn't he?

"Yes, you're quite safe." James muttered to Arc as he himself walked into the classroom, probably surprising no less than a few people by the fact that he was heading for the teacher's podium instead of a seat due to the fact that he was, well, simply young. Arriving in the podium, he looked up and around to look at the class he was apparently in charge of. It was also here that he noticed that Kiri was in his class.

Oh dear. This might be a tad awkward.
Well, since James is apparently the teacher now I guess I can get the class started.
The Tower. Sixteenth of the Major Arcana. It symbolized crisis, a sudden change and a sudden upheaval. It was often considered an ill moment.

...and it was also the most common answer the Arcana gave to James lately. And by lately, it meant ever since he first came to Death City.

Any other witch would loudly question why he was here. Why he was in the halls of the DWMA, heading to class surrounded by hundreds of slayers of his own kind. Worse, unlike those witches, he didn't even have any power to take comfort in nor any sense of superiority he could bring up to downplay the danger. Instead, he had to admit, he felt like sheep in the middle of a pack of wolves. Even after Shinigami-sama and the authority of the school said they would protect his safety, even if he was a witch, he was still unsure. Accidents did happen, after all. Kiri was here, though, so that could be said to be some small degree of comfort.

Oh well. Then again, the Tower wasn't completely bad, although most of the omens were ill. Hearing the bell ring, James looked up from the tarot card he was staring at and headed to his classroom.

He had a class to teach.

Lancer smiled. "Yes, master.' he nodded. "As a servant of the lancer class, my stats are... non-consequential, seeing as I am the only servant and thus this scale is not comparable anywhere." he mused.

"As a servant, I have decent resistance to magic, with a rank of B in Magic resistance, and my personal skill is the one I have just told you: Demonic Defender of the State. By marking an area, I am able to form a "territory" around a hotspot of power - power like the one that resonates from your underground cavern." he smirked. "My noble phantasm, Kazikli Bey: The Lord of Impalement is the ability for me to create spikes within the territory marked by my personal skill."

Of course, he had one more, but he would never tell her, and even if she found out if she tried to get him to use it he would kill her, master or not.

Disguised as a teacher then yea but not as a student.

Got it
...
hang on, he's not THEIR teacher, is he?
Question: Since James is technically also Kiri's partner, would he be going to DWMA too?

Arcana: The Tower - James is able to establish a territory of a 100 meter radius. Within this territory, the defensive properties of Arcana: The Star is doubled and James is able to sense danger to him, although he will be unable to figure out the danger in detail. James can only cast this spell after ten seconds of concentration.

Arcana: The Hermit - another spell to avoid detection; this spell grants James invisibility on an optical and auditory scale instead of the soul scale that meisters are trained to look for. This spell has no casting conditions.

Dusk and Dawn: Due to the transitional properties of these times, the sunrise and sunset hours of a day can be considered the times when James is at his most powerful. During these times, James is able to ignore any and all casting restrictions of Arcana: The Sun, Arcana: The Moon and Arcana: The Star. Dusk is defined as the hour before the sun sets, and dawn is considered to be the hour following the moment the sun rises.

Added two spells and an utility to make James less useless.

Lancer simply shook his head at the offer of tea. "I thank you for your offer, but I shall decline. And as for your question, I have been establishing my domain under my personal skill defender of the state-"

Lancer then paused and thought for a moment. "Ah," he remembered, "I apologize, I had forgotten you are new to this system. If I may, shall I take the time to explain my abilities?"
