James, having recognized the witch as someone on his "immediately run from" list, had made his way to her location. Deciding he should act like the instructor he was, he stopped Neku from his charge by yanking him by the sleeve by his clothes. "Idiot." he hissed. "You're nowhere near her level. Don't go getting yourself killed."

Stepping in front of Neku, James put on a diplomatic smile, although he had no idea whether it would work at all or whether she was just going to whack him aside.

"Hello, Ms. Schweinborg - or would you prefer I called you Erika? I'm James Heinson, and although we may have crossed paths before I don't believe I've ever had the pleasure of talking to you in person."

He stopped there, wanting to see if the powerful witch who outclassed him by so far - he considered her one of the most powerful beings he had ever known simply because he had never been able to comprehend her powers - would respond positively, preferably by telling him which of the two choices she wanted him to call her by, and, more importantly, if she recognized him as a witch from the assembly.
Oh.
Oh great.
It was her.

James put his face to his hand and let out a deep, deep sigh. Here he was, thinking Death City would be dangerous to him. Well, it turned out dangerous, all right. From what he had learned at the witches assembly, this girl here was absolutely insane. Maybe it was time to talk to Kiri and consider picking up travelling again.
"Ah..." Kanako looked downwards, not sure what she could have said to make Ash think she was annoying.

Caster, however, stuck her tongue out at Ash before turning back to Kanako. "There there, master," she said as she continued to lead Kanako towards the TARDIS, deciding that she would absolutely refuse to talk to Kotoha for the time being, "Let's ignore the brat too."
"I do not want to fight, I assure you." Kanako said to the doctor before turning to Kotoha again. "You keep saying that, this 'Gedoshu'. What on earth are you talking about?"

Caster, however, had another reaction. "Humph, how rude!" she pouted. "To think that you would compare me to those wrinkling sags from the Sanzu River! I will have you know that I am a pure and demure fox spirit! Come, master," she said, turning to Kanako with a smile on her face again, "Let's forget that ignorant old lady here and head over to where the handsome young man and the kid is." she said, referring to the Doctor and Natsu respectively, turning her back on Kotoha although she was ready to react the moment Kotoha made a move.
Kanako smiled. "You will see soon."

And with that, she turned back to the circle to complete the ritual she was interrupted from. Taking a deep breath again, she began.

"Silver and iron to the origin. Gem and the archduke of contracts to the cornerstone. The ancestor is my great master Schweinorg.
The alighted wind becomes a wall. The gates in the four directions close, coming from the crown, the three-forked road that leads to the kingdom circulate.
Shut (fill). Shut (fill). Shut (fill). Shut (fill). Shut (fill).
Repeat every five times.
Simply, shatter once filled.
――――I announce.
Your self is under me, my fate(doom) is in your sword.
In accordance with the approach of the Holy Grail, if you abide by this feeling, this reason, then answer.
Here is my oath. I am the one who becomes all the good of the world of the dead, I am the one who lays out all the evil of the world of the dead.
You, seven heavens clad in three words of power, arrive from the ring of deterrence, O keeper of the balance ―――!"

The circle of blood glowed before an explosion occurred at the centre. From it's centre, a pink haired girl with fox ears and a tail appeared, striking a pose.

"I have heard your call, and with Uka-no-Mitama as my witness, I have brought a vulpine wife from the imperial tomb to serve you!" she proclaimed loudly.

There was a pause of several seconds, with Kanako honestly confused for a moment. She had honestly expected to summon the berserker Dido of Carthage, as she had done in Istanbul, but... this? A Caster, no less?

"...ah, you seem a bit apprehensive." the pink haired fox girl said after that silence. "You are my master, right?"

Kanako smiled and nodded. "Yes. I am."

"Great!" The servant replied, vigour back in her again. "Contract established~! I, the mighty Ta- er, I, Caster, will serve you to the best of my abilities!"
Kanako was about to begin the servant summoning ritual when she stopped and turned to Kotoha. "Gedoshu? What are you talking about?" she asked in earnest confusion. As she did, Kuro got in between Kanako and Kotoha and began growling at Kotoha, willing to protect it's master.
"I am fine as well." Kanako said to the doctor even as her three shikigami continued to draw the circle she would use for the ritual. And with that, Kiiro finished emptying the bottle and returned to Kanako. Heading over to the circle, she took a deep breath.
James chuckled. "Well, best of luck to you. I'm just an instructor and I don't have a weapon at the moment, so I'll have to sit this one out. I will see what I can do if something goes terribly wrong, however." he promised.

He was still a pacifist at heart and preferred not to fight. And besides, sometimes, when he fought, small whispers in his mind urged him to go a little overboard... to punish the opponent before he defeated them, to kill, to make them regret opposing him...
Kanako started slowly standing up, checking the areas around her. Her three shikigami gathered around her in concern.

"It's alright... we'll find out what's going on soon." she comforted her three shikigami. Kuro barked loudly in confidence and Kanako smiled before standing up. Surveying the area, she decided that she would probably need more help.

As such, she took out a vial of liquid that looked suspiciously like blood and began preparing for her ritual.
James sighed, "Well, seeing as we're in a city full of Meisters who are probably better trained to deal with this than I am, I think we can just let someone else take care of it." James offered. "However, if things do start going out of hand we should step in - unless you want to intervene, that is, in which case we could get going now."

In better days, James wouldn't have stepped in even if there was no meister there. Those were the days when he could still afford to be pacifist.
