Pairs, hm? Well, Elsa and I planned to pair up Mei and Alexis. Who the other two in the team will be though, I have no idea.
A barrier of Ice? That was something new - Mei had seen such dust manipulation before, but not to the extent and skill that she had seen just now. "That looks like a really useful semblance." Mei commented, wondering if her aura skills would be able to shatter the shield of ice.

It certainly seemed a lot more useful than her own semblance, something which she wondered about frequently - it couldn't be used to defeat grimm, for they had no aura, but instead it could only be used to subjugate other humans. What did this mean for her? Her parents and teachers always said that it didn't matter, but she could not help but wonder if she was never meant to be a huntress in the first place.

Looking up, she noticed that they were at the building they were directed to head to. "Oh hey, we're here." she said to Alexis.
Mei chuckled. "It's alright, Alexis, and that sounds like a really cool semblance." Mei commented. "Although my invisibility isn't a semblance - it's a skill that anyone can learn with enough aura control. My actual semblance is something else, although I would rather not talk about it." She admitted. Her semblance didn't help her fight grimm, not at all - in fact, it made her better suited for fighting her fellow humans instead of grimm, and that was a concern some had brought up before. She also examined the blue dust and realized that Alexis would definitely be a weapon's user.

Mei had her fair share of those that thought that she would be useless due to the fact that they had a gun and she did not. Those people usually ended up realizing just how wrong they were when they tried to fight an opponent they could not see and got their auras crippled for a good half and hour from a spar. Although she usually abhorred violence, particularly against fellow man, she felt like they had deserved it due to their arrogant and dependant nature. Good times.

"But even then, I would love to see your semblance Alexis." she continued. "Maybe I'll also show you mine sometime."
Heh...

Is it bad that Mei is pretty much specifically designed to counter humans instead of the grimm they were supposed to be fighting? The first time I used her she was an assassin, not a huntress.
Mei smiled and nodded. "It's alright - that was my fault." Mei apologized. "It's an aura technique - by focus, I can make myself indiscernable from the world, so I guess it's kind of like an invisibility spell." she explained before looking around.

"As for where we head, well, I think we head this way." she said, continuing on her path. "I'm Li Mei. What's your name?" she asked.
Mei heard someone shout "Hey!" as she disengaged her ability and was startled for a moment before remembering that she had, quite literally, just appeared out of nowhere. "Oh, I'm sorry!" She apologized to Alexis, a bit flustered that she had made such a mistake. "Did I scare you?"
Seeing that the airship had arrived, Mei collected her belongings and disembarked alone, disengaging her presence concealment as she did so and reappearing out of thin air. She would admit that it felt a little lonely to be all by herself while everyone around her seemed to know people. She supposed that's what happened when you come a long way to attend a school.

Oh well. She was here to train, not to fraternize and make friends.
"You are among the a privileged few who have received the honour of being selected to attend this prestigious academy. Our world, vast and rich in its beauty have lived well and long in both time and peace. Both Hunters and Huntresses alike have been born, raised and trained-- Sacrificing their efforts to uphold the peace and liberty for as long as we know it.

You, new recruits among countless others in this academy have shown the courage and strength. We've chosen you as future Hunters and Huntresses to take on an oath as we train and assist you to becoming a true Hunter and Huntress. We wish you luck."

Mei sat in a quiet corner having heard the announcement and let out a deep breath, preferring to meditate. Sure, she was headed to Beacon now and she was excited, but she preferred to keep her emotions under control. That was the key around her fighting style, after all, and she'll be damned if she let her emotions wreck her fighting ability before she even arrived.

Still, however, she could not help but be curious about the possibilities. Deciding that she needed a better way to maintain focus instead of simply deciding to be focused for the hell of it, she closed her eyes and practised her presence concealment. Tuning her aura to the world around her - a strange, foreign atmosphere of vibration and height that Mei was not accustomed to, which provided extra challenges - Mei activated her skill and her presence disappeared from the physical world.
Before I post in the IC, I have posted Mei's buff, the Aura Skill Presence Concealment and will wait for your approval before posting again.
Hmm...

Looking at these apps, I have a feeling Mei might be a bit outgunned. Do you mind if I add something to her character?
