Margaret was stuck in the empty void that was the state of things enveloped by Kaguya. Unable free herself or even grasp her Zanpakuto, Margaret firmly believed she was finally completely dead when all of a sudden a young girl came up to her and hugged her, crying in joy about how she was "really here".

Had it been another, less serious time Margaret would definitely have questioned, been embarrassed by and reacted to the fact that both of them were stark naked, but considering she was under the impression she was dead there was no thought in her mind. "Where... am I?" she asked "What did you do?"
...question
what ingredients are there? Because I am at a loss as to what to write.
Mei sighed in relief when she saw the Ursa heading the other way and was just about to answer Rielle's question, explaining that this fighting style was a family tradition and as such it was hereditary when she saw Rielle trip.

Thinking it was just a burst of bad luck for her, Mei was about to ask Rielle if she was alright when she saw her trip backwards again, this time sliding down a steep hill and out of reach for Mei to help.

"Elly!" Concerned, Mei followed Rielle down the best she could but still at a considerably slower pace considering that she had to actually control her descent. Finally managing to catch up when Rielle's slide stopped, Mei caught up to see Rielle shakily standing up. "Are you alright?" Mei asked out of concern.
before I start working on my post, I just want to ask:

Would it be possible to make a character that's not affiliated with beacon nor a team? My image for this character is that he would be somewhat of a Wukong kind of character who would be a sort of half-ally maybe half-enemy outside of Beacon itself.
"Faunus... huh..." Mei fell silent for a bit, recalling how Faunus discrimination was well and alive in the moment. As much as she wanted to comfort Rielle and try and convince her not to pay any mind, she knew she had no right to claim she understood how she felt. When Rielle stated she didn't know much about the direction they were headed in, Mei was about to suggest that she fly up and scout the area, but that was rendered meaningless by the good news of finding something that looked like ruines - and the not-so-good news of three ursas.

"...let's circle around." Mei suggested. "I don't know how many arrows you have, but we should try and conserve as much ammunition and resources as possible." she suggested.
Mei lowered her head. "It wasn't that amazing, really - it's no different from using any other weapon. I can't use a bow and arrow or a boomerang like you can..." she pointed out. Sure, there were still a few tricks here or there that Mei had yet to show Rielle, but those were not for use here. "And besides, you can fly and use a bow and arrow. I bet that's a really useful combination."

Following Rielle deeper into the forest, Mei suddenly became concerned - she had lost her orientation when she crashed into Rielle and as such she had no idea which direction was which at the moment. "Elly, do you know which way we're supposed to head?" she asked.
Instead of a risky "fight as they come strategy" that Mei had they would resort to, it seemed like Elly's weapon had more tricks than she realized. Waiting for her friend's command to jump, Mei jumped onto the branch as her partner unleashed the arrows and the boomerang that her weapon could transform into.

As she saw the beasts going down, Mei decided that she would finish each on one blow. Focusing the correct amount of aura into her body as she descended from the swing, she landed right in the middle of the downed Beowolves and exploded the first one's soft belly with a punch. Then, turning her body she unleashed an elbow strike with her opposite arm on a second, finishing it off from the head before finally bringing her fist down in a downwards motion to crush the last beowolf from it's spine.

Entering one last martial arts stance, Mei did not drop her guard. "...is that the last of them?" she asked Rielle, knowing that her partner, with her aerial coverage and heightened faunus senses would probably be able to answer better than she could.
Mei noticed the presence of several wolves surrounding the area, as well as that of Rielle readying the arrows. Comforted by her presence and the fact that she had her back, even if she didn't actually hear Rielle proclaim that, Mei's attention was once again solely focused on the one beowolf that had challenged her. Having been knocked back by the weaponless human, the wolf snarled before charging her again. This time, however, Mei had concentrated an accurate amount of Aura into her fists and she once again intercepted the beast mid-lunge.

Instead of being forcefully knocked back, the force of her punch exploded the beast's head. Had it been in slow motion, then one would have been able to see the energy actually go through the wolf's head and expand it like a balloon before bursting it's head.

With the first one dealt with, Mei turned her attention the encircling group at large and prepared her stance again. With Rielle holding a bow, it would be bad if they started to focus her due to the fact that Mei had no idea how well Rielle would be able to fight up close. As such, this was optimal. Mei would draw their attention and take them out as they came, and Rielle would be able to safely snipe. Hopefully, there wouldn't be another mishap and Mei won't accidentally catch on fire or something.
Mei was about to tell Rielle that her battle needed no weapon when the two beowolves came at them.

So those were grimm. Terrible beasts said to have no soul within them; monsters which nearly drove humanity to extinction. Seeing that Rielle had her bow and was engaging one of the wolves, Mei entered a martial stance and gathered her aura, waiting for the right moment when the beast lunged at her. Focusing her aura in her right hand, seeing as this was her first Grimm battle she decided to test the waters and intercepted it mid-lunge with a palm strike right on it's mask, the force of the aura blowing the beowolf back.

Letting out a deep breath and entering another combat stance, Mei considered her results. That did less damage then I expected. I'll probably need to add more force to my next strike. she decided.

"Elly, how are you holding up?" Mei asked as she waited to see if her opponent to get back up and come at her again.
Hearing the words of the girl who had apparently become her partner, Mei finally mustered up the determination to stand up. Considering that things could have turned out a lot worse and yet she had still hoped for things to turn out a lot better, Mei let out a sigh. Not bad, not good, just a neutral sigh. Examining her body for any wounds, Mei finally got her mind back in the game as she turned to her new partner.

"Elly it is then." she smiled. "I'm Mei - Li Mei, nice to meet you. And... I'm the one who should be apologizing." she admitted. "I was behind you, after all - and I was invisible. It shouldn't be any surprise that you couldn't see me. I'm the one who lost focus and crashed into you, so... I'm sorry!" she said, bowing her head in apology.
