Ming-hua really was just minding her own business. She had heard of the zombie threat, yes, but she had believed it to be of little importance to her; something only for laowai. Her? All she really wanted to do was to go to school like normal and then spend her afternoon training like she usually did. Why did the world have to be so cruel as to change her comfortable life? What kind of deity did she anger?

It was because she tried to head to school like normal that she found herself right in the middle of a riot, one of the many that had sprung up in fear of the zombie horde. Unfortunately for her, she was also an outsider apparently - the mob had a great "with us or against us" mentality, and seeing as she wasn't panicking and crying that the world was going to end in a zombie apocalypse she found herself being seen as "against" the mob. Great.

As such, it was in this situation she found herself cornered on the street, holding her favoured weapon - a staff - with at least fifteen unconscious rioters with a large lump on their heads lying on a heap on the ground around her while the mob continued their yelling, chanting and mayhem.
With the blackjack game having gone in her favour, Alice stood from her table. Smiling, she watched the smirking Yakuza trade her chips in for Japanese yen - something completely worthless to her as a demon but still good to have to blend in with the living when she wanted to. Taking her newly "earned" Yen, Alice strode out of the Yakuza building - disguised as a simple office building near the scramble crossing. Ducking into an alley, Alice closed her eyes and counted to ten.

When she opened her eyes, she found herself near cat street. Nobody had seen her arrival - a good thing, for if they did she would have to kill them. Her human weapon still in her purse, Alice glanced around at the street before finding what - or who - she was looking for. Heading to one of the outside seating areas of a cafe, Alice boldly entered and approached the fifth most powerful demon in the underworld, Death Keeper Rank V: Micah Vertes.

"Good evening Micah." she smiled as if this was a meeting between two rather distant friends or business associates instead of two of the most powerful demons in a world the mortals around them didn't even know existed. "Do you mind of I join you?"
I am interested in joining, but possibly not as a ranger. May ask for the 6th ranger slot, although I may also ask for the mentor/civilian role.
Name: Liou Ming-huá

Gender: Female

Age: 19

Appearance:

Personality: Ming-hua (commonly just referred to as Ming) is a person who likes to learn as much as she could. Although that drive is focused mainly on the martial arts she is also known to dabble in other form of information - whenever she is not training or participating in a tournament she will be found reading a book on one of the many random subjects she might find in her mind.

As a result of her martial upbringing, Ming is a disciplined girl who refuses to back down from a promise, oath or a challenge. However, she does take any measures necessary to ensure that the fight will not harm any innocents. She will also avoid fighting for stupid reasons such as looking at a person wrongly or being high on something. She will respectfully answer challenges but she will refuse to fight anyone who resorts to taunting her.

History: Ming-hua was simply a child whose parents had a long history in martial arts, both unarmed and armed. When she was young, she began attending various after school activities related to various martial arts. Amazingly, she seemed to master each form and each weapon with ease, although at the base it really just came down to being able to mentally understand the form of combat and being able to add that to an already powerful and fit body. Eventually, her parents and instructors stated that there was no weapon she could not master and she began participating in various tournaments. Her high success in every single one, either attaining victory or a high ranking gave her the nickname "Ming of the Unlimited Armoury".

God They Serve: Changmu

Abilities: Ming is able to quickly master any weapon given to her. She also has a wide variety of random trivia stored in her head which may or may not reveal itself at the most random times.

Equipment: Although Ming is a master of many weapons and unarmed martial arts, her most favourite weapon is the simple staff - effective, simple, easy to find, easy to carry and non lethal.
The Yakuza actually have a pretty good since of honour that they abide by and values justice (or their idea of it) highly.

Fun fact: Did you know that the Yakuza in Kobe actually managed to create and coordinate a rescue and relief effort in the wake of the Kobe earthquake that was much more efficient and saved a lot more lives than the actual government response?
The girl known as "Alice" sat at a table in Shibuya Japan. in front of her lay several cards, and four others were sitting at the same table around her. Across the table, the dealer stood, dealing his cards and answering to the signals to either hit or fold from the contestants at his table. Death Dealer Rank IV, Seras Akira was doing what she always enjoyed - gambling. For her, the world and duty of demons was of no concern to her at the moment - all she needed - and wanted - to do was to have fun.

In Japan, a casino such as this one was illegal by law - and of course that meant there would be one here, under the control of the Yakuza - Japan's organized crime syndicates. Alice bore no concern that she was in a den of criminals - she was a customer and they were doing a business. Nobody got hurt. She paid no attention; especially not to the Yakuza guard holding a katana ready to deal with cheaters in the old fashioned way.

"...Oh my," another guest exclaimed as he looked out the window, "That's a pretty meteor shower."

'Alice' spared the window a glance, knowing full well what that meteor shower was. She knew it would eventually come, however, and she saw no reason to react nor prepare anything in advance. Turning back to the table, she glanced at her cards again - a three of hearts and a seven of spades. Smiling, she made the hand motion and announced: "hit".

The dealer obliged. Alice smiled.

An ace of spades. Blackjack.
So long as they're sentient enough to gamble, I'm fine xD (otherwise, I might change Akira's backstory to owning a casino in the living world)
Question: Are the ranking demons the ONLY sentient demons?
[Kotomine Kirei, Group A, Second Floor East Hall, Group A]

Kotomine heard other people. And shouting too. He hard them from down the hall, around a corner. He had been about to head towards the source when he stopped. In the corner of his eye, he caught what looked like a corpse - mangled beyond recognition from mere edible flesh and bone, the same flesh and bone any marketgoer would be willing to eat, had it not been for the presence of blood soaked clothes over that mass of flesh and bone.

Stopping in his tracks, Kirei paused for a moment before kneeling in front of the body and tracing the cross with his right hand in a prayer to the deceased whose body was now in front of him.

In the name of the father, and the son, and the holy spirit, amen.
Hmm... setting the RP in a real city...

How about Tokyo?
