"Don't worry about it." Gerald shrugged in response to her apology as he followed her off of the ship. "It's not like there's any particular reason to rush."

Stepping off of the ship, Gerald took the moment to look at Beacon in all it's splendour. From all the places he had been to and everything he could remember, compared to them this looked like something that existed right out of fiction. This was a place for the elite; for the brightest of the brightest. It was a new beginning for everyone here; a day he believed each and every single person would remember -

"CLUCK!"

His interior monologue freezing into place, Gerald slowly turned to see Kael being chased by a mass of fluttering white feathers that were apparently chicken. He could barely make out a chicken faunus girl somewhere in this mess, and he actually took a few moments to confirm that this still wasn't a dream.

"Wat."

"...Do all Faunus have the ability to charm the animals they're based off of?" he asked Esther and Coral even as he was unable to take his eyes off of the white feathered spectacle in front of him.
Under a full moon
Right beyond every corner
Danger lies in wait

- Autumn of the East

Toshiro sat in his room, doing one of the only things that seemed to calm him down nowadays: Writing. Poems. Lines upon lines of poems. For some reason, he had a really bad feeling about tonight and he was doing the best he could to distract himself. A paranoia that he could not explain without threatening his image of being sane. A threat from which his protection had long since vanished. Something which could grab him at any moment. The only way he could stop constantly thinking about how he could be dragged into a witch's labyrinth without his sister to save him the very next moment was to write.

Taking a moment to read over his poem and to make sure that he was following the 5/7/5 convention of Haiku, Toshiro posted the poem on his online blog, not sure if anyone would even ever read it. Leaning back, he stretched for a moment, his left hand reaching out and feeling the cutting knife he had with him as a... safety measure, just to make sure it was still there, ready to be grabbed on his instinct.

Slightly comforted by the fact that his less than useless self defence weapon was there, he leaned forward and began typing again.

While I wait for the IC, I'm gonna put up some samples of my OC's poetry...

demons continue to dance
for a mad rose god"
Yes. He shall be the Kamijou of the RP he will be there to provide moral support and... not much else.
Name: Akiyama Toshiro

Nickname: Writes under an online nickname/blogger name 「東の秋」("Higashi no Aki/Autumn of the East")

Age: 15

Biological Sex: Male

Height: 1.7m

Weight: 70kg

Appearance:

Personality: Akiyama is someone who is paranoid for a reason he would never explain. As such, no matter where he is he will always have some sort of weapon. Even in school, he constantly has something he could use as a weapon within reach, always having at least some heavy blunt object he could use as a weapon in case... "they" come.

Constant unexplained paranoia aside, for someone who acts like he is constantly under threat of attack Akiyama is often absent-minded, daydreaming off into space and pondering things beyond the comprehension of others. He is soft spoken but he is willing to listen to people's troubles and offer advice and moral support.

Reason for Pact: N/A

Bio: Her name was Akiyama Kimiko. If she was alive, she would be fourteen right now.

Toshiro was the older brother of a magical girl. Contrary to the belief of many magical girls, not all of their non-magical friends are completely oblivious. For Toshiro, when he was thirteen and his sister twelve, he had noticed that she had begun disappearing from the house during the night. Concerned but not wanting to get her in trouble with her parents, Toshiro began following her out, only to lose her mysteriously. He followed her many nights before he finally managed to see her enter what he would later discover is a witch's labyrinth.

Moments later, that same labyrinth swallowed him up.

Inside the labyrinth, he fearfully cowered in a corner, hiding from the familiar before he finally heard the sounds of fighting. Looking up, he saw his younger sister fighting against the monsters. Together they escaped and she explained herself and the system of magical girls, as well as how her magical ability was mental and emotional manipulation. Too bad she didn't know about soul gems and their true nature.

Through her experiences, Toshiro accompanied her and gave her moral support; easing her burden greatly. For his sister it seemed like things were finally looking up.

Then she died fighting a witch.

Rushing to the site, all he found was another magical girl carrying the remains of the soul gem that used to belong to his sister. The girl could only apologize for being unable to save her in time and disappeared, leaving Toshiro alone. Her family had no idea what had happened and as such Kimiko was forever listed as missing, for it would now be impossible to find a body to prove her death. He alone knew what really happened to his little sister.

Since the night she died, Toshiro began having nightmares. As if she had been some protective charm keeping them at bay, the night Kimiko died Toshiro began being plagued by nightmares of the labyrinth he had once been trapped in. Fearing that another witch could attack him at any time, from that day on Toshiro had always kept a weapon at a grab's reach. He also began a blog in order to write about his dreams as poems as a way to vent.

Magic/Abilities: N/A
Weapons: Depending on the legal status and what he could get away with at the moment, he may carry a five centimeter knife or a baseball bat in general public (sometimes both) and at school he has with him a heavy textbook. They're.. not gonna help much against what he's trying to protect himself against.
Other Gear: Soul Gem Shards (Carried in a pouch with him at all times), a laptop.
Other Details: Is completely non-magical.
"Can't say I'm not." Gerald admitted. "I'm just... well, amazed this is all just happening, you know? Half the time I expect to realize that this is all just a dream." In all his years, falling to the absolute lowest of the low in the eyes of the society and consorting and fraternizing with some of the most disreputable people in existence, Gerald would never have dreamed that he would have been able to start climbing his way back up again. Yet, here he was, attending Beacon of all places. He was amazed that he managed to get in without a transcript - that they accepted people from all walks of life.

Being outside, Gerald did not see any of the displays but he heard all of the announcements - from the news all the way to Glynda's speech. Hearing the hunt for Torchwick, Gerald allowed himself a small chuckle. He would not claim to know the man by any stretch of imagination, but he would confidently say that he knew enough to figure out that that man would not be caught easily.

Feeling the Airship touch down, Gerald felt the air around him calm down and let out a deep breath. "Well then," he said to Coral and Esther, offering the idea of them getting off the ship together, "Shall we get going?"
Name: Gerald Tarius (Real name: Alexander Lexus)

Nickname: None

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Appearance:

Personality: Gerald is a pragmatist who has one simple code: He will do anything to maintain his status quo of freedom and standard of living. Helping anyone or anything takes a back seat to that and he will only go out to help someone if it does not threaten him - or his team - first. He has knowledge of living and making one's way on the streets due to his past, and he is quick to come to suspicion on any new information - naive people didn't last long where he came from.

Normally, Gerald puts on a playful mood to make the best of his situation, but deep inside he has a feeling of discomfort and uneasiness at his surroundings, not used to the clean atmosphere of Beacon,

So her name was Esther, and she was a turtle faunus to boot... why did that large shield on her back just seem so fitting? Gerald wasn't sure if he should enter conversation or just go back to his nap - in all seriousness, he was extremely surprised that there were people here in the first place. He thought they would prefer the relative comfort of being inside, but oh well.

"Esther, huh?" he smiled. "I'm Gerald. Pleased to meet you."
thunk

While the noise of the passing wind would prevent Gerald from hearing the sound of the shield clashing against the ground, the feeling of the vibration coming along the ground was enough to jolt him from his very light sleep. As it was nowhere near the sort of calm awakening he had expected, his first instinct was that logically, he was under attack. Flawless. What a genius.

Immediately springing up from his sleep and rolling to the side to avoid any potential attack, Gerald whipped out Schnellfeur with his left hand and pointed it to the source of the sound, only to see someone fall over with their shield like a turtle.

Staring for a moment, he barely suppressed a chuckle as he headed over there and offered his hand as well, not saying anything and just wanting to help her up, unsure if the other girl was strong enough to get the turtle girl up.
