Welp, the Eternal Union and the Septonian Concordant got into quite a disagreement.

Perhaps the exhalted and wise empress of the Alarai can help mediate? ;w;

Indeed, but not yet. It'll be thought about since the Etherals used hordes of Sisters and all them. Shields will come later, maybe after a skirmish with Duck or something.

And he completely missed the part where I implicate him in metagaming

Also, the Alarai have currently made contact with the Eternal Union and the Septonian Concordant, who are currently about to be engaged in what looks like a long and dirty war. Things are gonna get real awkward for them real fast.

Time for shield-point-defense clusters for all ships...

Mmm... dat changing of your factions tech specifically to counter others...

Apollo, will you be posting in response to the Alarai?
*Alarai fly peaceful first contact flags alone ;w;*

Alarian strengths:

Excellent space fighter craft. They have a focus on spacecraft in warfare, with extremely advanced fighters and bombers, some stealthed, some heavy, some light, for any and all tactical occasions.

Tactics: Since they were in caves, the Alarai have always been engaged in three dimensional warfare. As such, despite their lack of experience in space they still have a lot more military experiences planetside that are much more applicable to space warfare.

Mass mobilization and Superior Logistics: The Alarai ships last a lot longer in space because they can harvest water from asteroid systems they pass. Also, the each Flag Fleet is a full standing fleet in its own right and can provide for its own, allowing the Alarai space force to be easily divided and much more wieldy. Also, through the Lunar Gates they can aid a beseiged system extremely quickly.

Detection: Alarian warfare is all about detection and fighters. As such, they have extremely powerful long and short range scanners to find enemies, stealthed

Weaknesses:

Capital Ships: Alarian Capital ships consist entirely of extremely lightly armed carriers. The Alarai military school of thought is "If our fleet is engaged in fleet to fleet action, then something has already gone wrong."

Ship to ship weapons: The Alarai lack any of them fancy cannons and lasers. Alarian ship to ship weapons consist mostly of rockets and torpedoes.
> Automatically assumes one's fighters would be simply of superior quality to the Septonian fighters

> Automatically assumes he gets to do massive damage

This is why I don't engage in the naval firing line school of warfare and instead go for the WWII carrier doctrines in space.
Carrier Li Wen, Pearl Fleet Vanguard Squadron Flagship, in docking alongside STC Acheron

Captain Hign and Admiral Hei had been among the Alarai who found themselves suddenly flopping on the deck, struggling to upright themselves in an environment without the buoyancy provided by water. However, Captain Hign's forsight had proven immensely valuable as the aquagills, small, miniture water packs to be worn on the gills, comparable to breathing apparatuses land walkers wore when going underwater, made sure that even as they were disoriented, confused and a bit silly, none of them were dying from a lack of oxygen.

As the Septonians raced in to aid the Alarai, the Alarai quickly managed to right themselves, sitting on their tales and embracing the sensation of not having the water of the ocean on their skin and scales. Captain Hign, the Alarai that Commander Zilicin had raced towards and helped, looked up at him and waved his hand in a declining fashion, with the crew after all having been trained in the possibility of sudden drainage. "It's alright, It's alright," Captain Hign said to Commander Zilicin, not sure if he was guessing his intention to help correctly but assuming so anyways. "We're fine. We're fine." he said, his voice artificially replicated in the speakers of his aqualung to sound the same as if it was spoken underwater to prevent the sudden change in sound from causing confusion with the language.

Sitting up straight on their tails (which made the Alarai look a lot shorter than the Septonians), the Alarai looked at the species they had encountered. They had legs, which was perhaps the most surreal concept to them. They had no shortage of such creatures on Atlantis, but they were primarily unevolved apes who lived in the forests of the planet. Did they live on the surface of their planets? Where there no Alarian-like creatures on their planets?

Admiral Hei managed to make his way to the front and faced Commander Zilicin, looking at his uniform and the accumulation of awards and badges to decide that he seemed like the alien in charge. As such, in the half flooded passageway with the Alarai sitting awkwardly, much of the Septonian food completely ruined and their uniforms completely drenched, Admiral Hei extended his hand to Commander Zilicin.

"I am Admiral Hei of the Alarai," he said, unsure if the aliens had managed to translate their language - their own officers were still hard at work on translating Septonian - "and on behalf of all Alarai, we come in peace."

Yea, ill edit my post, one sec@duck: And you cant just assume you would do massive amounts of damage to a force, in all of my posts I attempt to do damage, or I hope to do damage. These are two trained military forces going at it, you dont know who is superior to who yet. Read over sheets and asses strengths and weaknesses, mine are clearly on display in my sheet.

^^^This.
alright!

Should I wait for you to edit your previous post?
Apollo, the Septonian dress uniforms are probably gonna be drenched in sea water and the Alari will be flopping on the deck like surfaced fish xD
Fair points, Assallya. I've switched his cosplay to something a little less transcending.
