An announcement from the mods, Weiss Schnee and I

As we now have a good number of characters we will now announce we are planning on three teams of four. Weiss and I will be planning the team formations, but before we do that we must ask each and every one of you to PM Weiss or I any requests you have in terms of your character's position.

Request topics include:

Partnerships: Who you want your OC's four year partner to be
Team: Who you want your OC to be in a team with. May or may not end up as partners as well if there are no contradicting requests.
Team Leader: Think your OC has what it takes to lead? You can request a leadership role, but we might completely toss out your request if your character's first name makes it hard for us to come up with a cool sounding team name.

Again, please PRIVATE MESSAGE these requests to either Weiss or I. We thank you for your co-operation.

Please get in your request by Friday. Weiss and I will be working on team creation and hopefully get the RP started up by the weekend. If you do not message a request by then we will assume you are fine with being wherever and will make you the team slave.

Name: Gerald Tarius

Nickname: N/A

Color: Grey

Appearance:

Personality: Gerald is a pragmatist who has one simple code: He will do anything to maintain his status quo of freedom and standard of living. Helping anyone or anything takes a back seat to that and he will only go out to help someone if it does not threaten him - or his team - first. He has knowledge of living and making one's way on the streets due to his past, and he is quick to come to suspicion on any new information - naive people didn't last long where he came from. Normally, Gerald will express discomfort and uneasiness at his surroundings, not used to the clean atmosphere of Beacon, but despite his discomfort he still puts on a playful mood to make the best of his situation.

History: Gerald didn't have that smooth of a start to his life - he was born in the slums, raised by a working girl who only saved him out of the goodness of her heart. She tried to save up what meager money she could to send Gerald away from the slums and enrol him into Signal, but she died when Gerald was 10. Investigating her death, Gerald finally fell to the low of involving himself in the criminal underground, associating with the likes of Roman Torchwick. At this point, Gerald considered the possibility of becoming a hunter nothing more than a childish dream, and he immersed himself in the day-to-day needs. The criminal bosses soon granted him Anwarter and Schnellfeur, two weapons which he dislikes using. Although his weapons are lethal, he only used them to intimidate - the only person he ever killed was the man who killed his surrogate mother.

At the age of 16, he was captured and arrested during a raid by the authorities. Taken to the law to be tried, Gerald's juvenile status and his criminal upbringing prompted the judge to hand Gerald down a sentence: Because of the prowess he had demonstrated during his criminal activities, Gerald was to be sent to Beacon to train as a hunter and hopefully turn his life around - and after all, Beacon was home to some of the best hunters and huntresses in the land. It was much more secure a place to hold him than any normal prison.

Weapons:

Anwarter: a handheld gun that looks abnormally large, it utilizes two types of ammunition: Red dust, which causes an explosion at the target, and Blue dust, which when fired forms a bayonet of ice and serves as his close range weapon. The bullets are stored in a revolver-style chamber that holds 6 rounds, and Gerald utilizes a Russian Roulette style of combat with his weapon, always mixing up the order of bullets he loads Anwarter in so that only he knows whether or not the next shot will fire an explosion or a close range weapon for him to use. Blue dust bayonets are dispelled with his next shot.

SchnellFeur: A smaller handheld gun which, unlike Anwarter is rapid firing. ShnellFeur only uses a single type of dust as ammunition and serves as Gerald's general weapon, used to suppress and/or eliminate lightly armoured enemies.

Semblance: His semblance is a form of instinct - when his semblance is activated, he can see two different worlds - one is the normal world, and the other is the world 0.5 seconds to the future. This is a combat semblance he uses to predict his enemy's movements and counter with his own. It should be noted that this semblance does not help Gerald gain any special edge but is a "catch-up" semblance to make him capable of fighting on par with hunters despite his own lack of formal training.

Team: (once this is figured out)

Other: None.
Hmm... a rwby RP?
I'm interested xD
Name: Leonard Hansen (Mr. Hansen to his students)

Appearance: Leonard is tall, even for an adult, with short black hair and a pair of glasses that are purely cosmetic. During school days he will often come dressed in a professional suit and tie.

Ranger suit: None. As far as Zordon is concerned he is a normal human.

Age: 24

Weapons:

Inherent magic: Just like Zordon and Rita, Leonard has inherent magic - he is a rare earthborn sorcerer. However, his downside comes from the fact that due to the fact he was born in modern day earth, he has no knowledge of magic and can only vaguely sense that a form of "energy" exists within him. Unlike Zordon and Rita who can perform extreme feats with their magic (like making monsters grow) Leonard is only capable of utilizing magic as energy to power his body strikes.

Martial arts: Leonard utilizes a form of martial arts techniques known as Baji quan ("rake fist"). The school Leonard learned makes the use of fist and elbow strikes to force an opponent's guard to open before moving in to deal a solid blow. Being Leonard's main utilization of magical power, Leonard empowers his strikes with magic: while they are nowhere near the strength and power granted by the ranger powers, he is still capable of eliminating putties with ease.

Bajiquan - A Second Strike is Unnecessary: the ultimate realization of Leonard's martial arts utilization, this method of fighting is derived from Baji Quan Master Li Shuwen's fighting style in which he would always, without fail, defeat the opponent with a single landed strike. Li Shuwen is said to have uttered the famous quote "I do not know what it's like to hit a man twice" and Leonard follows the same principle, focusing on defeating each opponent with a single magical enhanced strike. A single strike from Leonard will be sufficient to shatter bones in a normal human and/or defeat a putty.

It is important to note that Rita's actual monsters, however, will absolutely destroy him with various degrees of pain depending on their similarity to human biology: monsters with bodies, biology - and therefore weaknesses - similar to humans will be able to defeat Leonard with half an effort, but Leonard should still be able to stall long enough to protect innocent bystanders long enough for the rangers to get over there, morph and fight. Those caught off guard under the belief they are dealing with a "mere human" may even be damaged by Leonard's strike if caught off guard. Monsters that bear no resemblance to humans at all or are made of different material entirely (say, a monster made of rock or plants) however will nullify Leonard's entire combat capability and will whack Leonard aside with ease.

When fighting a ranger, a ranger has several inherent advantages against him: namely, their blasters. If they take out their blasters, then Leonard is as good as helpless for he is essentially a man who came to a gunfight empty handed. If a ranger underestimates him to be a normal human and goes at him with close range, however, Leonard has the distinct advantage of both experience and surprise. Should he land a hit on a power ranger, with his magically enhanced strike any strike would be able to deal severe pain to the ranger. However, with his philosophy of "a second strike is unnecessary" a ranger that is dealt a direct hit - namely, centre of the chest - they will be protected from the bone-shattering near-fatal effects of the strike but they will still be de-morphed with a single strike. However, this combat style drops exponentially in subsequent encounters for any ranger who is intelligent enough to be a ranger should know enough not to treat him as a normal person and go at him from a distance.

Personality: Leonard is a stern but understanding teacher who does not expect anything from his students which he would not expect from himself. He maintains a standard of honesty in his classroom and is willing to hear out any student who could not complete assigned homework due to special circumstance - a monster attack, for instance. Leonard is also willing to give advice and share wisdom he has gained from his own experiences.

Bio: Leonard never really understood his inherent magic, simply believing he was just a tad stronger than other people his age. After an incident in which he accidentally knocked out a boy during a playground fistfight, however, he enrolled into martial arts to better control his strength. Since then, he was a lifelong student of Baji Quan. Moving to Angel Grove as an adult, he found a teaching post as a local school and has lived a relatively peaceful life since.

Other: Homeroom and History teacher to the power rangers

(If this is rejected I'll simply go with an evil ranger idea)
Well, my guy was intended to be an antagonist and not fit on any team, so there shouldn't be any team placement issues for him, but alright. Please let me know if there is an opening
I figured xD

I think it's a bit too obvious who my inspiration for Gerald is. (understatement of the year). As for his semblance, yeah, I won't abuse it. It's mainly just so that I can justify him being able to last in a 1 v 1 against a trained hunter despite the fact his bio says he has no training whatsoever. To be honest, when writing his semblance I considered giving him two, with the second being a stealth/invisibility semblance to make up for the fact he would probably be outnumbered.

As for how to get him into Beacon, well, I originally intended for him to be an anti-villain/antagonist for a little while, seeing how there's two perfectly fit teams so far. In that case, I would say he would be stealing something from Beacon and/or be working there as a janitor of sorts to pull off a heist. If we just decide to skip the antagonist part and get him to beacon though, then I guess we can say he got in the same way as Ruby did xD
Seeing how there are two main teams already and there's probably little chance of a third team to fit an odd one out into, I think I'm gonna make a nice, rougish antagonist >:3

Name: Gerald Cygnus

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Weight: 60 kg

Height: 170 cm

Appearance: Gerald has medium length blue hair which he refuses to groom. He keeps switching between an uneasy form and an easy going smile, putting up a front of happy go lucky as a defence against the uneasiness of his profession. He wears a white dress shirt with a red bowtie and a red with gold trimmed vest. Over that, he either wears a normal suit or a long black coat.

When on a heist, he also wears a fedora with a single card ace of spades attached to it.

Personality: Gerald is, above all, a pragmatist. When he sets his sights on a goal, he will do everything necessary to achieve the said goal. Although he has never killed anyone so far, he has sent many people to the hospital during his little heists, some of them with serious injuries. In his words, "I don't ever plan on hurting people. I'm prepared to do so if I have to though."

As a person, Gerald really just wants one thing: To get out of the slums that he had been trapped in for so long. Being locked away in misery and poverty, Gerald is rather bitter against the rest of Vale and will either laugh in the face or be greatly insulted by anyone who believes that "the world is enjoying a time of peace and prosperity". There were people fighting for scraps of food on the streets. What Prosperity? he would think. In a long term goal, once he crawls out of the slums Gerald has a desire to take the newfound wealth he will oneday surely acquire and use it to help the rest of the people still stricken in poverty, with a large portion of his heist gains already going to food purchases for his neighbours.

Normally, Gerald will be casual, seemingly never taking any situation seriously. He will almost always have a reason to have a smile on his face except in the most dire situations. Those dire situations are almost always on the very rare occasions he actually contemplates murder and will consider it justified.

Likes: Naivetrusting people (easy money), unsuspecting nobility (easier money), lightly guarded Schnee dust corporation warehouses (easy weapons), closed banks with sleeping guards (free money), energy drinks (helps him stay awake long enough to get easy money).

DIslikes: murderers, people who steal for their own gain ("They make people like me look absolutely selfish"), coffee.

Strengths: Gerald is, above all, a combat pragmatist - unlike most warriors, Gerald will do ANYTHING to win in combat. Even if said "anything" includes throwing dirt, deceit, master ruses, feints and traps. As for natural advantages, he is a great tactician, having pulled off many near impossible heists with improvised plans, but is a poor strategist.

Weaknesses: He has no formal training. And, worst, comes to worst, he is one. Beacon teams work in four. The advantage here should be obvious.

History: Unlike most students who would grow up, go to signal, train and get accepted to Beacon, Gerald never had a chance.

Born on the streets of the city with his biological parents disappearing soon after his birth, Gerald would have died without even having had a chance to do anything for himself had it not been for the kindness of a young woman who was already struggling to make ends meet. The woman, a working girl, raised him in secret from her employers and Gerald learned the ways of survival by any means from her. Seeing that he was male and his surrogate mother's line of work was closed to him, Gerald instead turned to thievery to support the household income, stealing since he was seven. It began with small pickpocketing, eventually rising to breaking and entering. With both of them earning money, the situation was getting just a bit better. Gerald had once dreamed of going to Signal and training to become a hunter just like all kids his age dreamed at one point, much like dreaming to be a policeman, firefighter or pilot, but he knew that with his current situation such a thing was completely out of the question. What Gerald didn't know was that his surrogate mother was also saving money in hopes of sending Gerald to Signal and having him leave the slums.

When he was ten, however, his surrogate mother was killed on the job. There was apparently some argument about payment and her client simply murdered her. She was just another working woman on the streets with no family to care if she died or not. The police did not open any serious investigation.

Gerald, however, did.

Having acquired the name of his late surrogate mother's murderer from her former co-workers, Gerald broke into a dust warehouse and store a suitcase of dust. Turning to the criminal underworld which he previously had brushes with, the ten year old boy made a deal with a criminal with a cane and a bowler hat - he would indebt himself to the criminal underworld, and in return, they would take any dust he stole and turned it into powers he could use. The criminal underground pulled strings, and a few days later Gerald got his power. This was the first time he held Laughing Robin in his hands.

Taking the dust cards and with his aura and semblance awakening, Gerald immediately confronted the man who murdered his surrogate mother. With the man pleading and begging for his life at the feet of a ten year old boy, Gerald demanded to know why the man murdered his surrogate mother. The man claimed money.

Gerald didn't spare him.

Since then, Gerald had gone on to work his way out of his debt with the underworld. Committing many heists and evading police several times, Gerald soon became a wanted criminal under the alias "Ace of Diamonds".

Weapon: Laughing Robin

Gerald does not use a conventional weapon, instead having a deck of dust infused cards. There are three types of dust infused into the cards, with each card and their colour having a different effect.

Red Cards: Infused with red dust, these cards create an explosion upon impact. Gerald can throw them outright or he can also heat them long enough to serve as haphazard timed bombs.

Blue Cards: Infused with blue dust, these cards are razor sharp. Gerald can throw these cards and they will have the lethality of extremely sharp throwing knives, being able to pierce normal armour.

Yellow Cards: Infused with yellow dust, these cards contain a paralysis agent. Anyone who is struck by these cards will be paralysed . This is Gerald's normal main offensive weapon, seeing as how he considers murder an outright last resort and something he wishes to avoid at all costs.

Semblance: His semblance is a form of instinct - when his semblance is activated, he can see two different worlds - one is the normal world, and the other is the world 0.5 seconds to the future. This is a combat semblance he uses to predict his enemy's movements and counter with his own. It should be noted that this semblance does not help Gerald gain any special edge but is a "catch-up" semblance to make him capable of fighting on par with trained hunters despite his own lack of training.
I'm here as well.
