"I think." Rue said with a curt voice and a baleful stare. "That we're going to have a lot of ground to cover, and you'll have a properly miserable time walking with all those injuries to deter you from doing it again."
"It will take more than a man pulling a weapon on Mr. Knotts for him to die. As for others trying to join in on this absurd melee...well as long as we're fighting the ones trying to interfere, we can hardly be accused of interfering, no?"
Neobullseye said
"Nice to meet you, Morthos," Lily answered. "And yes, Kenneth mentioned you. At least, I'm assuming you're the 'devilsh' one?" It was a bit of a needless question, seeing how the obvious question was quite literally staring her in the face, but still. who's tho say there wasn't an even more devilish devil walking around here somewhere?"As for those reasons... That's stupid," the sprite flatly said. "Why would you fight just for honour and respect? I mean, isn't winning the most important part? Plus, what if your opponent is not planning on playing fair either?" As of on cue, the chef took this moment to break the preset rules. "Hey, that's cheating!," Lily shouted when the chef kicked Gabriel, then revealed that his feet were technically hands. "Cheater! Can't you win this in a fair way?!," she continued, not caring one bit that technicallty speaking the rules weren't broken. In a fit of anger, the Sprite drew her weapon, quite ready to step in if even looked like the evil cheating jerk would break his word just one more time.
Gingerly, Rue plucked Lily with her index finger and thumb. "To interfere now would cause a small riot, which could turn deadly for all involved. Gabe knows what he's doing and has tangled with far worse than this fool. The best we can do is watch, wait and...Cheer." She inhaled and started shouting. "GIVE US THE PUNS!"

She released the sprite a moment later.
Rue blinked, mumbled and followed after Gabriel and the Tavern keep he had taken exception with. Rue herself wasn't precisely comfortable with the way he treated his daughter, but this entire thing was going too far. If she had any sense, she would've stepped in and stopped it before it got any worse.

Nevertheless, she said nothing and followed, wondering idly what the Black Road's policy was in regards to clients dueling locals.
A bucket clattered to the ground next to as Rue walked by, a preoccupied look on her face.
Where is descartes? Did we forum switch again or something?
Billy and James were in the Tavern, so Rue would avoid it for now. Instead she headed towards the Bonfire and began glancing around for signs of intelligent life. As she walked, she idly began sketching the strange towers in her book. What purpose did building them all the way to the ceiling serve? Collecting rainwater? Sunlight for crops? Convenient natural light sources?

She caught herself before this analysis got too deep. Right now was not the time to ruminate on the customs and inventions of the locals, first and foremost, was getting the group to the bottom of this place and back up intact. With that in mind, she surveyed her surroundings.
"Great." Rue replied a bit more quietly as she made her way towards town, taking a quick schluck from her waterskin. While she had told the rest of the group to pair off, she needed to deal with this one issue alone. Her pride as a guide wouldn't allow her to let anyone witness her ask for directions.
"Fair enough." Rue said giving her head covering a quick rub and began walking towards the place. As she left, she looked over her shoulder and shouted to Gabriel "Gabriel, can you leash that thing when we get to town? If it went wild and killed somebody, things would become complicated."
"Well we've plenty of horse meat, but we're going to need fruits and vegetables too, especially citrus. I've seen what happens to sailors and migrants who don't get those and catch mouthrot. It's ugly thing." Rue said. "Maybe some water too, if they've a well. Actually, Rasa, do you need to eat or drink or any particular thing to..be?" Rue asked, unsure of how else to phrase it.
