That deserves an IC reply

Simply being able to welcome in the New Year was more than Harald had expected. The harrowing escape from Rinneheim, the running battles across the countryside and especially last week's siege... Every day had been a close call. It made him appreciate what little he had left and those brave few he had come to call his own. As the last few seconds of the year counted down from a old radio, Harald took a sip of the proffered tea; well matured, but still sweet. As expected of their resident aristocrat. '3… 2… 1…' At the last moment he stood, throwing his hands into the air in celebration and joining in with the squad's cheers. 1936... A good year. A year of strife, of war... but the year when Gallia would cast down the Empire like the dogs they were.

As the cheering subsided, he clinked cups with as many as he could reach, wishing a happy New Year to everyone he could reach. The crowd soon broke up and Harald found himself alone with Krauss and Lilly, her soft voice uncharacteristically relaxed. '... A happy New Year to us all. Hell, and a happy New Year to the poor Imperial bastards out there waiting for us.' A fresh chorus of Auld Lang Syne soon started up and this time Harald joined in, raising his voice to the joy of being alive.

I'll reopen recruitment now.
