It's exam season, boys and girls, so postage should be up over the weekend. If you don't hear from me by Monday, honour my memory.

Bio

Well then. I'm exceedingly British, rather sarcastic and I love a good shipfest in my RPs. Also male. Funny, that. Fair warning, I will treat you like an adult. That means I will mock you, point out your mistakes and most likely /cringe when you do something really autistic. Being an adult means accepting criticism and working to improve yourself, not ignoring it. And if I need calling out on my bullshit, just do it. Please. Nothing is worse than not realising that you've said or done something stupid til a week after the fact.

I currently live in Japan, so my posting hours are... weird. Please bear with me.

Sergeant Harald, Gallian Militia

'Village of La Haye Sainte. Nothing spectacular there, just a few shops, a crossroads... and a few Imp squads guarding the route to Vasel.' The Sergeant grimaced. 'Our orders are to clear a path to Vasel ahead of a major offensive; I assumed that Squad 9 was doing the same?' Come to think of it, he hadn't heard anything in the brief about the other squad's objectives. Operational security perhaps, in case someone got captured? Or was the old coot just going senile.

Captain Meulemann, Gallian Militia

The Captain sneezed suddenly. 'Are you alright sir?', asked a worried looking aid. 'Yes, yes... I just have the feeling that someone, somewhere is mocking me...' He glared northward, irritated for some reason, before turning back to his paperwork.

'Pull up over here, Carn.' Finally the APC trundled to a stop at the edge of the woods and the squad fanned out to secure the area. 'Fina, Jatmoore and, say... Hunt. Go scout out the route into town; keep an eye out for potential MG nests and a good avenue to approach. Good luck and try to avoid being seen.' As the scouts left to carry out their orders, Harald began to unload his kit and provisions from the APC. 'We may be here a while guys, so settle down. Bons and Kyo, watch the perimeter. Everyone else, get something to eat.' Harald sat down heavily against a tree and opened up his first steak sandwich as he began thinking about how best to deploy his men. With a few new additions, their teamwork might be lacking, so pairing them up would probably be a good idea.

Private Bons, Gallian Militia

Despite Evan's coarseness, Alonso found himself feeling slightly better. He didn't answer though, still unsure of how to deal with... Hell, any of his squad mates. The Corp was nice, if a bit distant, and some of the girls had been kind enough. He still had his doubts about Glaive, but as time wore on and he thought about it logically, the reasoning behind his spy theory seemed more and more flimsy. Maybe she was just a bitch? He shook his head violently to clear away the thought; whatever she was, Glaive was a soldier like himself. She deserved his respect. Probably. He bundled out of the APC along with the rest of the squad, nodded glumly at his orders and set himself up some distance away from the others where he had a good view of the surrounding forest. Alonso didn't hate being on stag duty. It was a chance to centre himself, be away from the others and perhaps relax a bit. After all, the chances of the Imps actually finding them were stupidly low, right?
As the SeeDs discussed their plans, the rest of the meeting broke up into a handful of hushed discussions. Field Marshall Lerwick leaned in close to one of his soldiers, whispering what sounded like detailed orders while the two PSA agents tapped away at PDAs. Duncan assumed that the Faction was adapting their own post-Deling plans to suit the team's decision, but his trust of the rebel's sincerity didn't go far enough for him to leave them unobserved. The bug he had planted on his father earlier relayed the details of the orders and to his relief, they pertained mainly to ensuring that the soldiers on duty at the parade were issued with non-lethal weapons. Constantine may have been a ruthless bastard, but at least he cared about his own people enough to try minimizing casualties among the soon-to-be rioters. Duncan only wished he had had the time to set up cameras to keep an eye on what the spooks were doing, but it was water under the bridge at this point. Even if the PSA made their own rogue move at the eleventh hour, they wouldn't be able to derail the assassination with a whole team of SeeDs on hand. Still, he made a mental note to assign one or two of the more experienced team members to keep an eye on them. 'While I appreciate where you're coming from Hector, Jericho is right. These men and women have more than proven themselves since Dollet and their teamwork is coming along nicely. Besides, I may have a special task for you.' Not that I'd blurt out all the details in present company.

He sipped from the wine set before him, listening intently as the others made their points. So far the majority seemed to support the riot and despite the dangers of setting a mob loose on the city, he was inclined to agree. The firebombing plan was by far more reliable, but it could cause a violent backlash among Deling's supporters. At least with the riot, the Faction would be able to pretend that it was the people who removed the President from power and not an outside force. 'Sabotaging the float will be difficult since it's kept locked away securely on the presidential palace grounds, but if a small team could infiltrate the site without setting off any alarms, it would be a great help.' Xerox was the obvious choice on that note, if only because he could deactivate the palace security and sabotage the float without it being too obvious. Duncan turned to him with a raised eyebrow. 'What do you think, Xerox? Can you whip up a way to shut down those generators without the guards realising? Maybe something with a time-delay on it?' Someone raised a hand nervously and to his surprise, Duncan found himself nodding to Kein to speak. 'Uh, I think I could help. These paramagic drives use a biological core, like a... a genetically engineered computer. If you guys can get me in and past the security cams, I could poison them, stop 'em working properly.' Kein swallowed nervously, his eyes flicking between Jericho's and Xerox's.
Slight hiccough. Pc fucked up and needs formatting. Tomorrow then.
I think it's safe to say that no-one else is planning to post. All going well, I'll be able to post tonight to move us on.
If there is any sure-fire way to accept the truth of one's own mortality, it can probably be found at the bottom of a bottle. Maybe Kayaba Akihiko had predicted this or experienced it first-hand, but for whatever reason he had programmed Sword Art Online with the most realistic inebriation simulation known to mankind and the first night had seen thousands partake in excess. Pyotr had been one of those drunken few, spending far too much of her hard-earned Col on ales and whiskey in a small tavern. On the plus side, she had almost made a profit by buying and selling drinks to wasted players, on the minus... well, let's just say that the hangover simulation was pretty good too. Staggering around outside of town, she barely knew where she was at this point, let alone the time. Between a crushing headache and a craving for munchies, she had not had a great morning thus far; fortunately the pain was fading as the <<Drunk>> status ailment counted down. Collapsing under a tree some way from town, she took the time to survey the area with a bleary eye before judging it safe for the moment.

As the pain and grogginess slowly passed, she was finally able to take stock of the last 24 hours and the crazy shit that had happened. It had been a bit uneventful, aside from watching a few players die before the announcement (and later realising it with fridge horror) and that inane episode with Cam... Can? Can-Can? She could barely remember the boy's face, let alone his odd name. Unfortunately his creepily cheerful personality had carved out a space in her memory and Pyotr doubted she would ever be able to forget. Ditching him had been easy though, making use of his short attention span and the kindness of some unfortunate good Samaritan... and running like fuck, of course. The route to the town of... something-or-other had been fairly full of boars, so she had been able to grind up a level and collect a few trade goods, although they had all been used to pay for the night-long bender shortly after. And the tavern... She thrust the thought aside, not wanting to think about all the stupid things she said and did with dozens of strangers. In real life she hadn't gotten out much, so last night had been a real education; it's amazing how many Queen songs are sung by the Japanese and can be played on a lute.

When she felt a little better, Pyotr started off in a random direction, reasoning that she would eventually find civilisation of some sort. Be it a town or party, she could ask around to find a good spot to solo grind or maybe party up. Her spirits began to lift as she trekked across the rolling green hills and a old folk song came naturally to her lips. 'Rastsvetali iabloni i grushi, poplyli tumany nad rekoj...' Off in the distance she spied a group of figures facing off with some kind of mob, probably boars. Finding a safe place to observe, she watched with interest as the party fought. Going it alone was her normal modus operandi, but maybe a little help would be useful in this world...
Venetian plague, ouch. Took me a fortnight to get over my last trip to Belgium and only part of that was alcohol related.
I'll try to post tonight then.
Good postage.
Y'know, it's just occurred to me to check, but akirashadow and obitokizuke have been away from RPG for over 20 days... I'll move their characters to the inactive list.
/sigh... I'll need to advertise for more players then, though I'll probably wait for disk 2.
Must get around to posting, dammit...
Is there a good place to rethread Pyotr back in? Any characters alone or in a town?
I might get a short post up soon, but I'm waiting on anyone who's out scouting to come back and report before I move us on. Other than Lilly and James, was anyone else planning to have their characters join in?
So uh... anyone gonna post?
