Bio

Well then. I'm exceedingly British, rather sarcastic and I love a good shipfest in my RPs. Also male. Funny, that. Fair warning, I will treat you like an adult. That means I will mock you, point out your mistakes and most likely /cringe when you do something really autistic. Being an adult means accepting criticism and working to improve yourself, not ignoring it. And if I need calling out on my bullshit, just do it. Please. Nothing is worse than not realising that you've said or done something stupid til a week after the fact.

I currently live in Japan, so my posting hours are... weird. Please bear with me.

I am both terrified and intrigued.
Brandenburg

After a long pause, someone finally emerged from the brush. A girl this time, huh. At least she wasn't openly aggressive like the last one... She shrugged mentally as the tension drained away. 'Yeah, Elder Tale. How the fuck, who the fuck, what the fuck... Who knows.' The girl seemed a little too cheerful, but Brandenburg was willing to chalk that up to nerves; most gamers weren't the sort of people to keep calm in a real emergency and if anything counted, this did. Hell, she herself wasn't in the best of states, having passed through the shock and confusion to arrive at good old fashioned apathy. Even real vivid dreams ended eventually, right?

'New Apple it is then. I think it's that way..?' She waved vaguely east. 'Probably. Haven't worked out if we get menus or something. Not like we have a minimap...', she grumbled. As the others milled around for a bit, she decided to get the group moving. Answers hopefully awaited, or failing that, some grub. 'Come on then, sorry what's your name? I'm Brandenburg by the way. I swash buckles. You're an... assassin, I think?' It was a guess, but judging by the girl's equipment, there wasn't a whole lot else she could be. Maybe a zerging bard.
Eventually might work too.
I was gonna say. Always might be a slight overstatement... but thanks for the vote of confidence.
By the power vested in me as co-Gm, I accept your CS Chrono. Just post himher into the Character tab and we can think about how to get everyone together.
I think everyone going into town would be the logical next step; I know nothing about New York/New Apple though, so does anyone have a good idea of where the central area would be? Central Park maybe, or is that in DC..?
Don't jinx it. pls.

Also, I know it's stupidly late, but Happy Being-Single Day folks.

It took me days to find that damn gif.
Bit of a bolt out of the blue? Not sure really. Probably through to completion, which at this rate could take several years.
Sergeant Harald, Gallian Militia

At least a few of them had paid attention, Harald thought as he threw away another cigarette butt. 'No, Carn I do not. I do trust you can find someone to be a gunner; steal one of Hoek's men if you have to. You've got a talent for shanghaiing.' Ignoring the mechanic's response, the Sergeant turned to Jatmoore and gave her a flat nod. 'As much as I'd like for us to act as one group, there's too much ground to cover. We'll split three ways; Jatmoore, Bons and Fairglaive'll come with me to act as fire support. We'll hang back and pour fire on the windows as the other groups advance.' He nodded for the three of them to move over to one side before turning to the Corporal. 'Stichler, you'll take Muller and Durandal. Since you're all lancers, you'll have a harder time keeping up with us, so instead I want you hang back. Move up slowly after we have and keep to cover. Get to a good position to fire on the windows, then we'll radio you if we need it.' Finally he turned to the assembled shocktroopers, frowning slightly. 'Ideally the rest of you would be split into two groups, but we don't really have that option. Sykora, Rousseau and Skye, you'll be under Hunt's command. Hunt, your job is to get in close, then breach the building. Once the bottom floor is cleared, radio me and I'll bring the rest of us up in support. All good?' Truth be told, it was hard to entrust anyone with a field promotion with such a vital role, but Hunt had earned the right to prove himself. Didn't make Harald feel any better about it though. 'Remember, not everyone has a sidearm.' He patted his service revolver pointedly. 'We weren't all issued them after all. Still, if you have 'em, use 'em. Otherwise, you've all got bayonets.'

'Anything else?' Just when he thought everyone had said their piece, Durandal chimed in. Harald watched her closely, wondering if something was wrong. She looked... off somehow, but he couldn't put his finger on it... Then again he had only known her a matter of hours, so he wasn't in a position to judge. 'Tempting, but in all likelihood Carn will have to retreat. We'll need you three ready to move in once we're in position. Hoek's men will draw the majority of the Imp's fire anyway, so we should be fairly clear to advance.' Finally he turned his attention to Rousseau, frowning thoughtfully. 'Honestly, I don't know. It's not a point I'd thought of. Vasel was taken...' He wracked his mind, thinking back to the first weeks of the war, when Gallia felt like it was falling apart around them. '... I want to say, three weeks ago? So they could conceivably have modified the building, but it seems a bit of a waste to fortify a little outpost that highly. I'd expect more in the way of sandbags and barricaded doors. Still, it's a fair point; we'll need to keep Stichler's team up to date on which walls might be reinforced. They won't stop a lance at least.' With that point addressed, no-one else volunteered any more opinions. 'Alright then, mount up people. Let's go kill some Imps.'
I'll post for the briefing ending and the squad moving out tomorrow, all going well.
Finishing the run with an epic leap, Duncan just about reached the outcropping in time. The sand churned scant feet behind him as a sandworm broke off in disappointment. For whatever reason, the others had lagged behind a bit (possibly because he had run like the knackers), so Duncan swung his stolen machinegun around to provide covering fire. There wasn't a whole lot that a small calibre gun could do to something that fucking big, but it should help distract them. He unloaded into the sand between the others, aiming further back from where they were running; a few of the smaller worms seemed to fall for it, but the older ones were too canny for that. Fortunately the others had their own solutions and before long the team had regrouped on the outcropping. 'Y'know mate...', he replied to Jericho through heavily fits of panting. 'I might be with you on that...'

Duncan paused for a moment to gain an overview of the situation; most of the team were scattered between a handful of rocky outcroppings halfway between the prison and the outer fence. The Galbadians must have had some method of controlling the worm's movements or else the gate checkpoints would never have been manned; it was a bit of a gamble but if they could reach the main gate, they might be safe. Eika hadn't shown herself either and that concerned him rather more than he wanted to admit. There was still one of the team out on the dunes, but Rachel had picked what was in hindsight the only intelligent thing to do in the situation. Problem was that she was now stranded out there with the prisoners and no way to lug them over... 'Xerox, rope Rachel over. We'll work out a route from here.' If nothing else, they had a brief reprieve before the next rush. 'Jake, you still got support teams left?'
