Could be interesting
As I said, most of that is speculation, because I didn't pay a great amount of attention to dates in the Mass Effect games. I'm not really sure if there is much detail in to them, anyway.

There's a bunch of detail, it's just most of it is pushed to the Codex.

Posted up Ardent.

You know what the team needs? A hanar. :)
*ARDENT KROSS*

GENERAL INFORMATION

Full Name
Ardent Kross

Species
Turian

Age
27

Gender
Male

PERSONAL DETAILS

Personal Profile
Kross is what you might term a 'blunt instrument' rather than a scalpel. He's a slovenly, brutish and direct. He's the sort of big guy who knows he's a big guy and uses that to get his way pretty often, throwing his weight around (often literally) to get his way. He likes the simple things in life - good food, good drink, lots of partying. Plenty of it and as loud and intense as he can get it; he'll never take one beer with dinner when he can go on an all-night bender. He takes the same approach to combat, going in loud and angry to inflict maximum damage.

A psychiatrist might have a field day interviewing and diagnosing Ardent's small constellation of personality disorders and psychoses. Suffice it to say that Ardent is a tool not used lightly by the Circle, never deployed in the proximity of anything or anyone the Circle likes and would prefer remains intact. He doesn't particularly care about collateral damage and if there's a level of ultra-violence that he's not willing to cross, it's not one he's encountered yet. And yet, for all his monstrosity he is a shockingly loyal individual. He considers the Circle his family and has the classical Turian loyalty and bond to the Circle instead of a homeworld or regiment.

Sexuality
Bisexual

APPEARANCE DETAILS

Physical Appearance
Kross has a lot of scars across his chest, arms and face from fist-fights, close calls with blades and the odd bullet wound. He has a story for each scar; some of them might even be true.

Kross is extremely large for a turian, standing at nearly eight feet tall and weighing in at two hundred and eighty pounds. He's also extremely strong and conditioned, bound in dense, cable-like musculature. His hide is brownish and he tends to wear reddish facepaint with the Omega symbol, to denote that Omega is his place of birth.

Clothing and Armour
Kross doesn't often go without at least light body armour on, from what would be paranoia on anywhere but Omega. He favours dark colours and reds, to keep in the theme of his face markings. One of his few accessories or adornments is a necklace of shell casings from obsolete automatic weapons. True to his normal style, in a fight he wears heavy armour with simple, powerful shields.

Equipment
Kross favours big, noisy weapons such as shotguns, heavy machine guns and hand cannons. His trademark are a pair of highly-customized Carnifex hand cannons, wielding akimbo.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

You'd be forgiven for thinking Ardent Kross was a krogan if all you had to go on was his description. He's big and strong, nasty in a brawl and despite being severely injured multiple times, no-one's quite figured out whatever blessed silver bullet is required to finally put the stubborn drokker down for good. Hurting him just seems to make him angrier and Ardent Kross becoming angry is often the prologue to a room full of people magically transforming into a room full of corpses. He's something of a local fixture on Omega and knows the station well, it's people and it's many little hidey holes. He's also been a criminal for his entire life without getting himself killed, so he's good at various forms of the graft; con schemes, sleight-of-hand. But brute force remains his favourite tactic.

BIOGRAPHY

Most people think of Omega station as a place of last resort, somewhere you come only when all your other options have run out, to hide from the authorities or some other escape. It's a place of endings. But what most people don't like to talk or think about are Omega's children, the people who are born there. Ardent Kross was one such child, born to Turian mercenaries who settled on the station full-time after being injured on a mission. He was raised on stories of the First Encounter War and read weapon specs to get to sleep.

Stable family lives don't really happen on Omega. Rival mercs from the Iron Teeth company had been chasing the Kross couple and stormed the apartment. What should have been in-and-out wetwork turned into a bloody two-day siege as the Kross family defended their homestead with guerrilla tactics, advanced technology and sheer spite. Unwilling to simply give up the fight and lose face, the Iron Teeth escalated and soon one small wetwork team became multiple squadrons, including at one point the deployment of light artillery. It was during this siege that Ardent got his first and tenth kills. The Iron Teeth got what they wanted, at a bloodier price than they had expected to pay. The Kross mercenary duo had fallen.

With his home in rubble, Ardent took to the street full-time, making a living plying the skills his parents had given him; violence and the application thereof. Sometimes he was shaking medical clinics down for drugs to sell, other times he was extorting protection money from businesses. He joined up with some minor street punks and this eventually lead to him becoming headhunted by a larger organization, the Circle of Absolution. The price of admission was a test, a hit on Garran H'ttar, a Batarian slaver in one of the lower levels. H'ttar's one weakness was that the only time he left his stronghold - a fortified mechanics shop - was to visit his favourite noodle shop. Given that he only did so with ten armed guards, most people would have taken the subtle approach - poisoned the noodles, sniped H'ttar from across the way, left an explosive for him.

Ardent Kross does not take the subtle approach.

Ardent walked in the front door of the noodle shop with two hand cannons, a shotgun and an industrial buzzsaw. He left with three bullet wounds, a whole heap of bruises and H'ttar's severed head to serve as proof that the hit was complete. Now, Ticus Rakaelum is not a fool; he knew that Kross could be a timebomb if handled incorrectly. But he also knew that it was a timebomb he'd rather have control over whose detonation he could set the time, date and, most importantly, target. So he took Kross on board, kept him placated and at arm's length but has not called on his talents often. This means that though Kross has been a member of the syndicate for about six months, he's still functionally entry-level and lacks many of the proper protections the syndicate can offer. And that's something Kross is going to need soon; H'ttar's people are going to be looking for the blood and the Iron Teeth have realized that someone survived their hit on the Kross household..
Working on a Turian
Yeah, I was thinking more a decently skilled legbreaker more than a crime-lord. Maybe he's ambitious and this job is is way up in the organization.
So are we people who already work for the crime lord or are about to be approached? Just thinking up character concepts and one I'd had was a semi-established criminal type who might already work for him.
Maybe that's his helper VI.

Name - Davo'Sallar Nar Forrym Vas Nedas, "Query 31"
Age - 28
Species - Quarian
Gender - Male
Appearance - Davo is tall and burly for a Quarian, though this still makes him a little short and slender by human standards; he stands at about 6" tall and weighing a little under 200 lbs. Outside of a clean room he's never seen without his black exo-suit, which acts as armour and keeps him safe from the various pathogens in the world, especially with Omega's poor environmental scrubbing systems. Under the suit he keeps his black hair trimmed short and his skin is pockmarked with visible cybernetic implants. His eyes are milky white and there is a burn scar on his right cheek.
Occupation - Drug cook/dealer
Class - Sentinel
Powers - Neural Shock, Sabotage, AI Hacking, Throw, Lift, First Aid
Weapons - M4 Shuriken SMG, M5 Carnifex Heavy Pistol w/Sabot Jacketing mod
Armor/Apparel - Colossus VII Light Armour
Equipment - Logic Arrest VI Omni-tool, Gemini VI Bio-Amp, Medi-gel
Personality - Davo is used to spending long periods of time alone and is generally very self-sufficient. He's picked up a lot of skills along the way, making him quite a jack of all trades. He tolerates other people for about as long as it takes for him to get what he needs from them and rarely any longer. He's quite a misanthrope, which might be a natural consequence of having spent so long working in the Omega underworld and seeing the very worst the diverse and varied species of the galaxy have to offer. Like many Quarians, he much prefers the company on machines.

He is probably somewhere on the Asperger's spectrum, or at least the Quarian equivalent of it, due to his unusual neurology. He has a hard time reading facial expressions or picking up on social niceties. His voice is flat, almost monotonous and his emotions rarely come across quite properly. He also has some problems with impulse control and obsessive compulsions, leading him to "fix" things that don't need it or break things when he gets upset. On the other hand it also means that when he's on something, it gets done and he's very unlikely to get distracted.
Bio - Quarian biotics are rare, due largely to their social practice of keeping their suits on even aboard their ships. Davo's birth ship, the Forrym, experienced a problem with it's eezo core that spread the hazardous element throughout the ventilation system and forcing the ship to be evacuated until it could be contained. During this time, his parents were in the ship's clean room - without their protective suits on - and were exposed, causing the young Davo to be conceived with eezo clusters in his nervous system. As he grew, it became increasingly apparent that he was different from other children, not just because of his biotic talents but because of mental and social problems. He was smart but had a hard time learning in traditional educational systems; he would often get into fights by mis-reading social cues. Soon he learned to just keep away from the other children and pursue whatever interested him - a hazardous decision in a culture like the Quarians, where all things must be done for The Fleet. His parents began to talk him around to working in biochemical or healthcare research, something of benefit to the Fleet but that wouldn't necessarily force him to face-to-face encounters too much.

During his Pilgrimage, when he was supposed to bring back something of benefit to the Quarian Fleet, Davo arrived at Omega and began looking for things to bring home. Salvage, business, data or anything that work. This was when he came to the attention of Larrak, a Batarian gangster, who saw a rare talent and decided to take advantage. Davo enjoyed chemistry and Larrak had clients who also enjoyed chemistry, or at least injecting it. This began a prosperous relationship for both parties, with Davo producing high-quality street narcotics for a fraction of the traditional cost. Larrak flooded Omega with cheap, readily available drugs which earned him a lot of money and even more enemies. When Larrak was killed, Davo decided to take his recipes and his lab back to the Forrym. He was met with disgrace and honestly couldn't understand why the Admiralty had an issue with the economic boost he was saying the drug trade would bring to the Fleet. He was exiled, the ultimate punishment for a Quarian. He was named "nar Forrym vas Nedas" - "born on Forrym, crew of no ship" - to show his exile status and ordered never to return to the Fleet.

Davo felt lost and rootless, eventually deciding to return to Omega and his life in the underworld there. Under the "pen name" of Query 31, he worked to restore a small but sturdy crime network distributing his chemical creations, most notably a drug called Free Will. It works to promote neurotransmitters, promoting reflex speed, dulling pain and creating an artificial feeling of confidence; they feel like they have ultimate control, that they can accomplish anything. This has earned Free Will a small recreational user base but a larger and more loyal user base among mercenaries, street thugs and other combat types - especially nervous first-timers. It's not a party drug and it won't make him rich, but it's also not going to earn him any hate from the other vice operators in the area either. Through one of his dealers, word reached Davo that someone was looking to employ Query 31; he accepted the job offer.
Well, he did; that's why Larrak died. The idea I had is that Davo's still pretty small-time, not realy a criminal mastermind and doing it more as like a hobby than a full-time business because he just enjoys the chemistry (a little like Walter White in the early seasons) Even then he's mostly the guy in the back room cooking more than the "face" of the operation. Previously the face was Larrak, but he died a year or so ago when a larger organization moved in on his vice market. Free Will is a new drug which will never sell super-well - it's not got a strong enough to be a good "party drug", it's not very addictive and it's main selling point is the "I can do anything" feeling that mean mostly it's taken to get over fear or anxiety. Kind of a niche market. Like, it's closer to Ritalin than cocaine. And anyway, I figured this job offer would be him getting attention from one of the bigger fish.

@AdvancedJ3lly: Davo's a sentinel, not an adept. And Wrex could use biotics, that's what Krogan battlemasters are. As for the Asari who can't use biotics, all asari can, it's just not all of them are skilled or power enough for it to be combat-relevant.
