Welcome Cas. Happy to have you aboard. BTW, I appologize for the lack of quality of my previous IC post. 1. Just trying to progress the story so we start advancing the store 2. I am drunk. Still, I'll be waiting for the others to post before Koji make a reappearance, unless the mummy speaks to him.

"They will be here..." Koji fell silent shortly after speaking. It was obvious that this man wanted his solitude, and the samurai was to happy to give it to him. Ether it was his demeanor or visage, but nothing seemed right about this one. Yet he was a comrade... For now, so Koji would cause no problem. Yet he paused a moment, eyeing over the man "Amatuers? Are allies. Must watch over." All the while he tried to force the words form his mouth, he understood that some seemed new to combat, but there were some that seemed to be able to carry their own weight.

Shaking his head rather dismissively, Koji would sit down against the walls of the city, drawing his rather large blade form it's sheathe on his back. It was then that Koji began to polish the blade with a cloth from his satchel, shuffling about the potions and other items within. He'd continue this until the others arrived, all the while offering no words to the bandaged man.

“There goes Masahide again! It’s a wonder that walking ghost doesn’t scare people off.”

“I know, he looks so ill… I wonder why security lets him sleep on the benches like that?”

If Masashide had overheard this conversation once, he’d heard it a hundred times. Every day it’s the same thing, people calling him specter or a ghost… At least until they ask him to tutor them. Being one of the top students in the school had earned him attention- mostly from those looking to leech of him- but he didn’t care. All he cared about was passing his classes with the highest marks possible and it’s off to assist the town’s folk. Just the other day he had volunteered to assist cleaning up the amusement park, and had been there hours after he should’ve already gone home… What did he do then? Study for his classes until it was time to leave for school the next day.

Opening his eyes, he’d sit himself up as he stretched and yawned eyeing over the center plaza curiously. Seems he’d drawn a few spectators, mostly kids and classmates that stood and stared, all the while gossiping about his situations. But it wasn’t an illness or depression, just simply fatigue. It had been at least 36 hours since the last time he slept, and these benches certainly didn’t make it seem any shorter. Yet as he stood, he couldn’t help but stagger his stance. Every muscle in his body flexed and ached, the soreness made it hard for him to even walk. You figure after years of this, he’d become more accustomed… That never happened though.

Walking past everyone without making eye contact, Masahide would begin strolling about the place. Though mostly to soothe the aches and pains in his legs, he’d come to enjoy just walking… There was a certain peace to it. Just like all the epic tales he’s heard and read, it felt like just another step in his own saga. It gave him time to reflect on the things he had done and yet to achieve. If he was going to be a symbol of perfection, he had a long way to go. Yet he would never stop trying, someone would recall his name and remember it as something to aspire too… Someday.

It wasn’t long after he started walking that Masa decided upon a change of scenery, after all, the countless eyes staring at him had become rather bothersome. Pausing a moment, he’d take out his phone and dial home. It wasn’t long after he walked through the doors to leave the complex that his mother picked up the phone, “Saji residence.”

“Hey, it’s-“ He wasn’t able to finish a sentence before his mother lashed out him.

“Masahide! Where are you?! I just got a call from the mall that you’ve been sleeping on the benches again! Why didn’t you come home last night?!” Most of this Masa didn’t hear as he held the phone away from his head.

“I just called to tell you I’m heading to the amusement park. I’ll be home later.” Looking about the town around him, he’d attempt to recall the directions on how to get there. Slowly, his memory recalled the way as he began his walk.

“Do you want me to come pick you up? I could take yo-“ The concern in his mother’s voice was all to evident. Odds are if she came to get him, she’d take him to the psychiatrist again. Even his own mother thought this was a phase of some sort of mental illness that had beset him… She didn’t understand

“No. I’ll be fine.”

“… Masa, you know I l-“ halfway through her reply, he stumbled, dropping his phone, causing it to shut as it hung up the call. His body would shudder as the pain coursed through him. First his body was betraying him, now his mother was hounding him, and then those odd dreams of a one hand man in armor. Maybe he was going crazy… Catching his breath, Masa stood up and dusted off his clothes. Pausing a moment with a sigh of relief, he’d retrieve his phone from the ground as he opened it back up. Sure enough, a text message from his mother. ‘I Love U, Masa.”

Tactics has my vote, also, Koji is on top of a sentry tower. He won't hear anything said. Unless this is dm exposition and it's assumed Koji made his way there already.

Personality:
Though coming off as a bit of a loner, and seeming adverse to conversation, Masahide is fairly well known about the social circles. An excellent student- with grades to match, an excellent study under the kendo club, and has been known to volunteer for community work around the area. However, it’s not enough… Or at least to Masahide. Striving for prefection to the point of nearly tearing himself to pieces, the young boy barely has any time to enjoy his own life. It’s for this very reason that he seems to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders, ‘If only I were better,’ a reoccurring thought in his own head. It’s because of this that people have seen him passed out during lunch hours at school, or seeming shaken and ill fed. But what would you expect? The pursuit of perfection is a long and excruciating process… Though less than fruitful. He’ll never achieve perfection, but he’ll never accept it… In the end though, something has to give. And at this point, it’s looking to be the boy.

Equipment/Skills:

Uniform: Masahide takes great pride in his school and studies, wearing his uniform fairly consistently. However, it’s not uncommon for him to dress in a rather dark ensemble on off days or when out with friends… If he had any.

Wakizashi: An heirloom of his family, this masterfully made blade bears a significant importance to his family. It is for this reason that Masahide covets it, training with it hours after school before washing up and heading for whatever activities he has planned.

Deductive Reasoning: Always the analytical one, if the pieces are laid out before him- odds are he’ll solve whatever the puzzle may be. Though it’ll take a couple failures (of which he’ll hold over his own head), it’s only a matter of time before the solution is in place.

Zealous: You get Masa to swear to a purpose, nothing will stop him. Even if it’s simply studying up for a test, or squaring off against someone, he won’t back down. The task will definitely take it’s toll, and will ultimately consume him if not achieved, but he’ll be damned if he doesn’t try.

Background:

Born to a wealthy industrial family, Masahide would want for nothing. Whatever his heart desired, his parents allotted him. However, over time- this became dull. What worth were these things? Merely baubles and trinkets of his vanity and greed. It was shortly after that realization that he began to strive to make a name for himself. First, it was cleaning the house while his father was out, then it became excelling at school, and then a physical training regime. Then suddenly, the house wasn’t enough, he’d seek to assist at shelters and shrines, anything he could do to keep himself busy and making a contribution. However, when his father was diagnosed with heart complications and forced to retire, this merely kicked Masahide into overdrive. Now taking up odd jobs to make up for the lack of income (though it wasn’t needed) and going without on pretty much everything, Masa would become an asset to his family. When his father ultimately passed away, many feared the grief would kill the frantic boy. Instead, it had the opposite effect, it mellowed him out. He saw what the years of strain did to his father, so he dialed back his efforts… However, he still spreads himself much too thin. Though he’s trying to accept the fact there are things beyond his control, to this day, Masahide Saji will never stop striving for perfection. Even if it kills him.

Tyr-

Known as the Norse god of war, Tyr was considered one of the wisest and most courageous sons of the All-father, Odin. No clearer was this evident then the binding of Fenrir. The mighty wolf was the harbinger of the Ragnarok, or so the gods foresaw, and they attempted to bind the massive wolf. Every time, Fenrir broke free and grew wiser to his own strength. In a final act, the gods had dwarves craft a 'ribbon' that was strong enough to bind the wolf, yet would not openly display this prowess. Having grown wise to their schemes, Fenrir offered to wear the ribbon if one of the god's placed their hand in his mouth. Tyr volunteered. Though he lost a hand in exchange, it kept the wolf from being able to fulfill his purpose. Disaster averted- Tyr continued to retain his mantle, even if it costed him one of his hands.
