Satele Shan

“He is still in there, buried deep. The ritual that brought him back from the brink of death, though well intended, was incorrectly done. Rather than revive your father, you channeled the concentrated darkness of Freedon Nadd’s tomb into him. Now, he is submerged beyond recognition in his need for vengeance.”

Gavin Greshh

“But there IS a way to fix that, right? He isn’t totally lost?”

Satele Shan

I give him another pleasant smile. “I don’t believe anyone is ever totally lost. There is a way to bring him back to his senses, but it will take time. Unfortunately, it may also extract a heavy toll from you and to sister. Are you prepared for that.”

Gavin Greshh

“Yes, of course.” I say without hesitation. “We nearly died to bring him back last time. We’ll do it again to make it right.”

Satele Shan

“You won’t nearly die this time, I promise. But your senses will be dulled. You may find it difficult to call on the Force as easily as before. But that is only temporary. With time and meditation, you will be good as new.”

Satele Shan

“Was it the vision that was truly life threatening, or the dangerous nature of your job that set the events of the vision in motion?”

Gavin Greshh

“Philosophy aside, these visions always come true? What exactly did you see?”

Satele Shan

“Oh, that I would rather not say. The details are not as crystal clear was you might hope, as is usual with all Voss visions. Hundreds of lightsaber spread across a barren field, A lighting storm in space, thousands of voices speaking from one mouth... That is only a few examples of what my time with the mystics has allowed me to see. None of it should be taken at face value. Some of it may be metaphorical. The only detail that matters is that I saw Salazar Greshh in one of those vision, and that the role he has yet to play is a crucial one.”

Against the medical droids wishes, I am not in bed. Instead, I sit cross legged on the window sill. My eyes are closed, and my back is to Jerus and Gavin. "A Jedi Grand Master must always up for questions." Looking over my shoulder, I smile at Gavin. " I had a feeling I'd be seeing you again soon."

Gavin Greshh

"Right." I say awkwardly, shuffling my feet. For some reason, I felt incredibly vulnerable standing before this woman. I'd heard many stories about her, mostly skewed to reflect a Sith's opinion of the Grand Master. But standing ehre now, it was impossible to ignore the power that radiated off of her. If she's as weakened as Jerus said, I couldn't imagine how powerful she was at full strength.

Stepping forward, I clear my throat and ask the question that has been bouncing around my head; "Why did you save my father?"

Satele Shan

"Because he needed to live." I say simply. "It is the only way to restore balance to the Force."

Gavin Greshh

I'm surprised by her casual tone. "You... you really think that?"

Satele Shan

"I know it." Rising to my feet, I turn fully to face the two. "I saw it in a vision. During my exile on Voss."
Gavin Greshh

"I... I must know why she saved my father. Cosen believes that there is still a chance he can be brought back to his sense. Despite the injuries he gave her, how he nearly killed her, she latches onto a moment where he hesitated, and things that he somehow recognized her briefly before losing himself again. Perhaps Satele knows more... or at least I hope she does."

Becca Twilight

"Agreed. Hopefully we'll all have fresh minds in the morning, especially Ava. All the responsibility of leadership is weighing so heavily on her these days. She deserves to take a break... though I don't think she's going to get it any time soon."

Gavin Greshh

Downstairs, the doors to the medical bay open and I step out to speak with Jerus. "Where is Satele Shan's room? I must speak with her."
HJ Twilight

“It was all her idea! The battle had barely ended when she came and found me, demanding I come with her. I locked Huntress up in the ship and followed her here, then... well, I don’t know exactly what happened next.”

Becca Twilight

“I think it’s pretty obvious what happened, HJ. It’s okay.”

HJ Twilight

“No, I mean... well, I could tell she was ticked off at me for the way I spoke to her in front of her men. I didn’t know if she wanted to beat me up or make out with me. In the end... she kinda did both.” I point to the hand shaped welt on my cheek, and I lift my shirt to show the bruises and bloody scratches. “At the same time.”

Mandalore the Risen

I laugh wearily. “I should probably get some rest anyways. This battle has taken a lot out of me and... I need to be fresh what what is to come tomorrow. Any free hotel room is up for grabs to any of you who need a place to sleep.”

HJ Twilight

As Becca and Grandpa motion me to follow them out, I hastily try to come up with something to say to Ava. “Wait... hang on... we can just...” The door closes behind me and I shake my fists at the sky. “Damn it!”

Mandalore the Risen

“So he definitely needs to be tracked down and stopped. And without his army, he is vulnerable... or at least more vulnerable then he was. What did you have in mind? You want me to send some units to scout the Galaxy for signs of him?” Even as I ask this, it is obvious that I am at wits end. Whatever energy I was hoping to use for HJ has gone into screaming at Zar’kun, and now I’m about ready to collapse onto the bed and fall asleep.
HJ Twilight

I jump up from my seat at the edge of the bed. “Hayden was taken?! I didn’t know that! Why does nobody tell me these things?”

Becca Twilight

I hold up a hand to calm him. “Easy, HJ. It’s alright. We’ll find her and finish this once and for all. But we need to keep our heads.”

Mandalore the Risen

“Hayden?” I take a moment to let the emotion drain away as I realize I’m not being forced to leave. “I like that girl... but how do we stop Sucal now? What’s his plan?”
Mandalore the Risen

I pale at hearing my name spoken. For a moment, I am caught between my instinct and rational thought. I take a deep breath, and in a very forced calm voice, I say, “I just won a major battle on your behalf. I lost hundreds of men for a battle YOU asked me to fight. I am running completely on raw emotion. All I want to do is take some time to enjoy my victory with the person I care about, but you can’t even wait until morning to give me the eviction notice!?” I ball my fists. “Because that’s what this is, isn’t it? Now that my people have served their purpose, you want us gone! Can’t even give us a day to mourn our dead and celebrate those who survived. It’s ‘So long! Get lost! Thanks for everything!’.” My voice begins to quiver with emotion, and it is obvious I am on the verge of some sort of breakdown.
