Listening to Iwa, Arl jumped out of the carriage and check the hole. He took nearby rock and threw it into the hole. It broke the cover and reveal the inside. It's not too deep, but still a hassle to push their way through. Meanwhile, the wire itself pose no threat. It's weak and probably the poor one used for fishing. Cutting it with a knife would be enough. Well then... "Oi! You brats come here!" Arl shouted towards the suspicious bushes. "Kyaa!" "They notice!?" "Idiot, run!" "Arrgh!!" group of children start popping out one by one, running away from their target. "Aian, now!" shouted one of the children. The moment that was shouted, the earth start shaking. "Wait... what!?" The source of all commission is coming from the opposite side of the road, right above them... a big boulder is rolling down! Arl quickly return to the carriage and command the horses to go back to the opposite way.
A corpse on the road. Sure it's unused route, but it's too much to think that there will be corpses lying around untouched. All of the member of the party speak what they had in mind, but Arl remain silent. However, that did not stop him from commanding the horses to march forth. They've gone this far and they won't stop so easily. There are food waiting for him, that's all he could think of. "....What is that?" Arl couldn't help but to ask. A thin string, plainly in sight, tied on trees on both side of the road. And right before it are poorly hidden hole. There road they're on have no grass on them, but somehow the hole cover itself using grass and leafs. Arl stopped the carriage, commanding the horse to stop. He looked at surrounding it sees some bushes making noises. "Did they notice?" "No way" "So, when will this start?" "Psst, quite, they're gonna notice!" Group of youth voices, probably around 7-12 years old. They're the bandits? No, that can't be it. Arl recall back the corpse they encounter a bit ago. Is that even a corpse to begin with? "So... what are we going to do with this?" Arl completely clueless. Arl then glanced at other member, asking for respond.
@Horrid Accepted, and yay, female character! Now, anyone want to control the robber clan? I won't mind doing it, but better done by person who want to.
Totally.
Work to be done for collage turned out took longer than what I expected, but the IC is starting now. Go ahead and post.
The party made their journey across the western continent of Erln. They have passed the borderline of the last town they've visited. It will take quite a while before they able to reach their next destination. They might will have to camp a night or two. There are village nearby and they're planning to take refreshment there. Currently they're on the road flanked by two mountains. This is the road people rarely use. This actually a shortcut to their destination but often avoided by merchants and common folks because of story about some kind of bandit clan nesting on the area. Adventurer they may be, they're still group of amateur adventurer who had just recently received their adventurer license from the guild. Why would they go so far on such dangerous area? It all because one member of the group, Albirth, known as Arl, had a concern. "Wait, don't eat too much you say? Don't speak nonsense!" after endless struggle, Arl finally manage to persuade others to chose a shorter road so they able to resupply food faster, resulting less need for fasting. However, an unused road it be, it filled with obstacles such as rocks and unfavorable terrain, making the carriage to be constantly shaking like mad. One would not be surprised of any of them would puke any moment by now.
Name: Albirth Age: 21 Role: Fighter Background: Albirth, or Arl, was born in the middle of capital city of Liberta kingdom. His father was known as one of the most skilled and strongest knight in the kingdom. His unmatched skill is no other than the enemy's greatest fear and comrade's most reliable ally in the battlefield. But after his one and only son, Arl, was born, he retired and moved to a rather unnamed place far from large cities. No one knew why he did that, neither does his family. As far as he remember, his father had always train him to be the strongest. As far as he knows, becoming the strongest was his only option, that’s what his father taught him. Everyday his father gave him the hardest humanly possible tasks for him to accomplish, such as pushing a giant boulder, destroying a tick wall with bare hand, basically anything. Every once awhile Arl was feed food with poison out of whim, believing that he’ll slowly be immune to it. That harsh “training” continues for years. By the time he notices, he had become the man his father wanted him to be. In age of 18, Arl was kicked out of the house. His father told him nothing and locked the door of the house. In the end, Arl never understand what is on his father's mind and started his own journey for living. Personality: Arl was raised without interaction of other children of his age. He always had hard time to get his feeling across since he spent most of his time training his father rather than hang out with friends. His parents never really taught him manner, so he always ends up being frank when talking to others. Deep down he's a kind young man who couldn't ignore someone in need. He is very innocent by heart and somewhat childish. He always believes in whatever he sees and hears, hardly question them. Just like any other boy, Arl loves being the center of attention and very noisy when being left out. He won't miss any opportunity to show his superiority to others. He's quite a sore loser and very stubborn. He won't accept defeat and will continue to fight as long as it takes for him to win. Likes: Being feed, being the center of attention, food, and cheers. Dislikes: Cute creatures, he claims that they stole his spotlights. Hobby: Eating. Arl loves to eat, more than any giant beast. His stomach said to be bottomless as he never seen satisfied with just five share of food. Basically he's a glutton. Habits: Sleep eating and biting his nail when thinking hard. Skills: Inhuman physical strength, nearly immune to any common poison, and decent swordsmanship. Extra: Arl brought along the sword his father given him prior to his journey, but he rarely use it.
I have vague image of how it will turn out, I guess we just have to try and find out.
Attacking our character or the village/town they're going?
Before starting, what "theme" should we start with? Our character starter transportation will be a common wooden carriage with two horses. Adventurer they may be, I doubt anyone will be sane enough to travel across the vast land by walking (although it's fun on its on way).
