Still alive, kind of. The wifi hasn't been great to where I wanted it. Either this laptop is connecting and I make my posts tomorrow, or I'm going to the library to make some RP posts.

Again, sorry if I've been running slow...a whole other, months long RP was just shut down, nd that was kind of depressing.

Yes, although i think i'll switch to crossbow if it fits the RP better. O_O I for one am not afraid to admit my lack of knowledge of this era, well the super detailed stuff i suppose ^^. *rolls eyes, snuggles Ursa-chan* if anyone has problems with what i type, message me : D

This is why you're my waifu.
Everyone in this thread is a waifu of mine.
I love Malkavians, but some of the madness is hard to RP. I never got into RPing till the past two years, basically me joining the oldguild, but the WoD fascinated me since I finished that computer game a while back. Then I got the Promethean: The Created collection of pdfs, but they seem pretty obscure to a lot of people. I kind of think the iFrankenstein movie was kind of the dumbed down version of it, but I couldn't bare the watch it, so I don't have the right to properly say. I kind of want to try tabletop RPing, ever since I started watching Spoony's counter monkey series of videos discussing his fun/weird/mainly fun and interesting sort of experiences...but nobody I really know would be into that sort of thing. The stigma of 'nerdy' activities is still quite strong, despite he abundance of nerdy games with high amounts of background lore. Blarg.
Short opinions pieces aside, it took me 24hours to steep a properly strong tea...and then I couldn't go to sleep for 24hours after drinking it...that's nuts.
(yes, i'm easily impressed, so help me)

Super hyped for the IC...but watch, later I'm prolly gonna be the last one posting due to blarg.

Sounds good to me, although I always love hearing more info on various myths. But in the end I do believe it's Eddies call. You're incredibly knowledgeable that's really cool it's been a while since I've met someone as informed as you. I'd have to say that my knowledge base largely lies in variations on the theme of the Vampire including and after Stoker's Dracula. His version of the vampire has always really spoken to me as far these things go. And laugh all you want but my favorite version of a werewolf actually comes from Jim Butchers Dresden File: Fool Moon. Infact my avatar is actually that particular book's cover. And for clarities sake its the Loup Garou Butcher presents in the novel since there are actually something like six different types of "werewolves" that appear in the book.

I've said it before (in a different thread, in a different place, different times), my favorite vampires are the original old lore ones...you know, the sucky ones that are pretty much OCD. Can't cross salt barriers like ghosts, have to count all the rice grains in a bowl, avoids religious symbols/symbols make them nervous, can't cross running water, have to be invited into a house, etc...well, that's actually a bunch of different lore stacked on top of each other.
>.>
My favorite vampires are...Malkavians, from Vampire: The Masquerade. The OCD vampire is my ideal interest vampire, and Malkavians are pretty much as close as it gets for me.
(Also, I think either Stoker's or another book's vampires...they can travel under the sun, but they lose their powers? I can't quite remember.)

I know my vampires Buffy, Dracula, Thirty Days of Night, Salem's lot, Blade, Van Helsing, Vampire the Masquerade and Requiem, as well as dozens of other mythological appearances of vampires or vampire like creatures (asanbosam, mandurango, ect.) hell i've even read twilight (Not that those are really vampires), Hence my characters use of a shotgun. Get close enough and 12 guage will take a head right off. However, and this purely because Eddie pointed out he's drawing on Bram stoker's Dracula, wood to the heart typically works. Which you really can't fire from a gun XD The silver was reference to werewolves typical weakness but we could go back and forth on werewolves for days too. But in conclusion: Yes I absolutely agree stylistically I'd have gone with the crossbow too.

Vampires and werewolves were previously in the same category. In fact, some myths had dead werewolves (who were killed without destroying the head) becoming vampires the next night. Silver was always considered a catch all for both, as it wasn't just the material, as the 'pure' silver usually had to be blessed by a priest in order for it to be effective. Wolf's bane was not originally a poison, but a plant that attracted the werewolf...though the poisonous (even to humans) attribute of the plant probably got it listed as a poison to werewolves as well.
A lot of citation needed, so might as well just ignore that all. We go Stoker-style.
Hrmmm...mmm...grrr...

Maybe...maybe a superpower high school? You know, where all the students have super powers?

Put a wooden arrow through a vampires heart. Just as good as a stake if you ask me. You don't really have that option with a gun, same goes for werewolves. Just swap the arrow head for a silver version. With a gun the bullet has to be low calibur or you run the risk of the silver being dispersed before impact. Conceivably the only thing I could see a bow being less effective on than a gun as far as the super natural are concerned is maybe a ghoul or a spirit and in the later case gun wins cause you can load rock salt into a shotgun shell. so by the look of it Bow 2 Gun 1. So im with Eddie I don't see an issue

Okay, look. In actuality, any sort of weapon is actually usable on vampires in most lore, it's just that people usually attribute their religion into this, and thus it has to be 'holy silver' due to the metal being deemed 'pure'. Stabby stabby, shooty shooty works on them all, wood-gold-iron-stone, so long as you do eventually cut off the head and burn all of the $#!t afterwards. Heck, there are even an array of herbs that are thought to be effective on vampires.

A bow is fine, I just thought a crossbow is more stylized to this sort of RP.
Yuuki turned to the boy, now drumming her fingers lightly on the surface of the table, "Wingman? Small project? I can definitely agree to one of your bright ideas...so long as you pose with Yamamoto-san and I for a yaoi calendar." Balancing her chair on it's back legs, she paused for a moment to think, running a hand through cleaner parts of her hair. Finally, she settling the chair back on all legs, and faced the girl, "As for you, Asuka-san...you're probably right. Maybe we can schedule different dates and times for our own photography? Though...the sexy and cute dakimakura need all the girls wearing pigtails with their preferred bathing suits, and their hair down with their sleepwear. If we do get around to making a few yaoi calendars, we should also have a pigtail girl calendar made for everyone else." It would be awesome! For every prank, and pranks danced on the line between funny and offensive, sometimes even down right harmful...there could be something released to promote their actions in a more positive light. This way, future pranks would be seen as less annoying, and more endearing.
