Current Just because you can have 36 attacks per turn that threaten a crit on a roll of 14+ doesn't mean it's worth doing.

((Ok, the fuck? Seriously, the fuck? I'm done. I was looking for a serious and normal RP about gladiators and things, you have now derailed it and my enjoyment.))
Usually an anguished wail was none of their concern, however Cato and Falco immediately dropped their little sparring match. The men turned to pick up a bundle that they had left at the gates - it contained a pair of swords. As they headed towards the ruckus the pair hung the sheathed blades from their belts. Falco motioned for his guards to follow - after all he was in a high enough position to have a guard of lictors. He gave the six men instructions to stay within earshot.

They arrived to the scene - which already had quite a many people there. Cato straightened up properly and moved to block an exit so the most suspicious fellow - the one with the odd aura - would have less room to maneuver. Falco on the other hand unsheathed his sword. "Stay where you are." He pointed the blade of the gladius at Kettlebrick and took a deep breath. "Lictors to me!" Soon six more men had entered, all wearing proper lorica segmentatas and carrying scutums they had swords hanging from their belts. Cato and Falco both grinned like they had already won. "Surrender immediately or we'll cut you down where you stand." The senator stated calmly.
...This thing has gone really weird really quickly OwO;;
The two men who made their way to the yard seemed like an old pair to say the least. The shorter of the two had dark hair with noticeable balding on the temples, his features were handsome and it was difficult to discern his age. He was slightly over the average in height and though he was wearing a simple red tunic and leather sandals he had a certain kind of air of authority. He seemed like both a soldier and a statesman - which was no surprise, after all he was Roman after all and obviously in quite a high rank in the social ladder. Neither of the men wore weapons, but both seemed like men who could beat you within an inch of your life with just their bare hands.

The taller of the two had been a common sight in the arenas all around the provinces. He eyed around the yard with both contempt and amusement in his dark eyes. His hands were clinched to fists as if he was nervous about the whole ordeal. A year ago he had left the arena as a winner, once again he had most politely declined the wooden sword that would give him freedom - it was the second time now.

"So, old boy, are you perhaps going to refuse freedom for a third time?" The shorter of the two - Marcus Falco - inquired with a hint of amusement in his tone. "I doubt these people are going to watch you for long anymore." He jabbed the taller man on the shoulder and grinned.

Cato took the little jab and shook his head. "If it is offered I'm not going to refuse. Twice is enough for an old fool like me." The tall Greek chuckled and stretched his arms. "I admit the year away was a good one, not too many scuffles with ruffians or any such."

Falco spat on the ground and let out a hearty little laugh. "Well now we are back and I think that it's time to show these whippersnappers that the Sword of Mars has not dulled with age, eh?" He made a slightly mocking gesture. "If you aren't feeling too old that is..."

Cato rolled his eyes and shook his head. "The only thing dulling is your sense of self preservation, old boy." His tone was slightly mocking - though in a good natured way. Obviously the two sparred with words quite regularly. "I could still lay you down with one punch." He lifted his right hand quite menacingly and shook it in front of the shorter man.

"With a louzy stance like that? Please, my old mother could tackle you down from this distance." Falco smirked as he lifted his arms up "Eh?"
Awesome ^^
appearence: Cato stands nearly 7 feet tall, towering over most Romans and even some of the gladiators of Germanic descent. His whole build is rather menacing - very muscular and large. His strong arms are quite scarred from years of fighting on the arena. Cato's face is handsome - despite the scar on the left side of his mouth, extending down his chin to his neck and chest. Obviously he has been very lucky to survive from a blow like that. His dark hair is cut very short and a little goatee adorns his chin - though it is divided by the nasty scar.

Outside of combat Cato wears a simple gray tunic, when he's fighting the tunic is either red or very dark shade of brown. On his feet he always wears very sturdy sandals.
name: Cato, the Sword of Mars
age: 42
gender: Male
nationality: Greek
weapons: gladius, occasionally a falcata, for protection Cato uses a large scutum shield and wears a lorica segmentata. For head protection he wears a helmet that resembles the old hoplite helmets.
work outside being a gladiator: Cato is the personal servant, secretary and confidant of senator Marcus Cornelius Falco. He also teaches the younger gladiators if need be.
Bio: Cato has been fighting for nearly all of his life - be it with men or animals. He ended up as a slave in his early 20's and moved from one master to other for different reasons until ending in the company of at the time young and rising orator Marcus Falco. Despite a rather rough start - often culminating in bouts of physical prowess - the two soon became more than just a slave and master. They became more akin to brothers, friends or even more than that. When Cato wasn't helping Falco with his work as a lawyer and other such he's been fighting in the arenas - attaining much fame for himself and a hefty fortune for his master. Though he has not remained undefeated he has participated in well over 60 battles on the arena in the past 18 years which has left him with a fearsome reputation.
Pets(optional):
Extra: Cato has spent the last year away from the arenas due to Falco's duties as a governor of Sicily. He intends to make an impressive comeback.
