Personality:

Gruff, quiet, and cold, Collin didn't make many friends in his life before the games, but was quick to lay down a good beating to anyone who tried messing with him. He's lived a hard life and really doesn't have much to live for, but will still fight with all his strength for survival. He's got nothing to lose and is willing to do whatever it takes to win without hesitation. He fights brutally, but is not the type to just run in head first to a bad situation, he'll form his own plan of survival, and do whatever he thinks will help his odds, right or wrong.

Biography:

I've not read or watched anything from the hunger games series, so forgive my very limited understanding of the lore. Collin was orphaned at birth, which lead him to live a harder life than most. He made no friends and had no family and began working at a younger age than most. He was forcefully entered into the hunger games, but soon realized that perhaps it was the best thing for him, as he didn't really have much to live for.

Preferred Weapon of Choice: He's comfortable with an axe, but is likely to use whatever he can to get the job done.

What did you do in the Training Room to receive your Training Score? He displayed an incredible amount of tactical intuition in various testing scenarios.

Draconic mythology speaks of the three first dragons who ascended into godhood and created the dragon races. The myths speak not of the creation of these first three dragons, starting long into their lives. The three are referred to as brothers. The myths say that in ancient times these three dragons existed, Pyninra and Gulnide both had positions of great power in the world and constantly opposed each other until Ulnur approached them to unite with him under a certain cause. The three worked together to gain great power and then traveled beyond the reaches of the sky to complete an unknown task. They returned long after and with their great powers worked together to create the dragon races before leaving again and never returning. Many believe the three can now be seen in a certain star formation in the night sky.

Humans

Need I really explain? One of the most common races around thanks to their adaptability.

Sun Dwarves

Unlike their Moon Dwarf cousins, the Sun Dwarves often live above ground, which has led them to have tanner skin and better relations with above-ground races. Though they have little-to-no ability with magic, their society has always been well respected for the technological advancements they have brought to the world. The Sun Dwarf society originates in a large desert biome, the inhospitable terrain offered them protected from invaders and left them to develop as a prosperous, peaceful society. It is a common thing for Sun Dwarves to reject the life of scholars in the main Sun Dwarf city and head out into the world in search of adventure.

Moon Dwarves

The Moon Dwarves originate from a different region than the Sun Dwarves and spend most of their lives underground, leaving them with paler skin. Moon Dwarf society spent most of its history in isolation from the outside world and even waged wars with the "Overworlders" upon first discovering eachother, but is just now opening itself up to outside societies. Relations are tense, but the races have plenty to offer eachother in trade. The Moon Dwarf society has a famously hectic political system. The Moon Dwarves are nowhere near as scholarly or advanced as their Sun Dwarf cousins, and are instead known for their deep mines giving them access to super-rare materials and their amazing craftsmenship. Also like the Sun Dwarves, moon dwarves are near incapable of magic.

Halflings/Hobbits

Shorter and more agile than the dwarves, the hobbits have always lived alongside humans in society and are similarly common.

Elvish

All Elvish races are believed to originate from the Snow Elves, with those groups who left the isolation of Snow Elf society(A long time ago, obviously) eventually taking on different appearances based on their environment. They all have very long lifespans, with each variation generally living a different length. Elves tend to have a natural affinity for magic.

Royal Elves

This race of elves has always lived nearer to human society, and almost uniformly live in highly respected positions (Scolors, nobles, ect.). They seem to age in a way similar to humans, at least until they are about 20-25, at which point their appearance freezes and they keep it until they die at about 1000 years of age.

Wood Elves

This race of elves tends to live isolated in forest environments. They tend to as humans would until they reach about 15-20, then they remain with the appearance of that age until they die at about 1000. Wood elf societies don't tend to like being intruded upon and trade agreements between a wood elf villages and other groups is very rare. The occasional wood elf will choose to leave their society and explore the outside realm, and doing this generally means exile from their community. Wood elves tend to have a high regard for nature and life, and tend to be heavily opposed to industry and destructive magics.

Drow

The drow are very uncommon in the human lands, living isolated deep underground and tending to react violently to intruders.The occasional drow may try to escape their society and find their way above ground, but there they will find that their race has been for the most part forgotten by the rest of the world. The drow live in a very strict society, women hold almost all positions of power and men are generally treated as a lesser sex. Drow have skin ranging from light blue to dark purple and age until they are 30 before their appearance freezes.

Snow Elves

The original elvish race, the snow elves run a very large, mixed-race society in the frozen plains far from where the game will begin and thus will be very uncommon early on. They are well know for their incredible intelligence and aptitude for magic, and the society they run has the most advanced tech in the realm. The snow elves have considerably longer lifespans than other elvish races (Near 10k years), but are also incredibly infertile, to the point that an Snow Elf birth is something celebrated far and wide throughout their society. Snow Elves age as humans would for 9-12 years, their appearance then freezes as children for the rest of their life. With their long lifespans, low birthrates, and appearances, the snow elves have generally had other races fight their battles for them (particularly Orcs and Humans).

Orkish

The Orcs are said to have been created long ago by the Snow Elves as a servant race, but were eventually released from their control and have now spread across the land. Orcish races are genderless, usually taking masculine appearances. They are are birthed from spawning pits, and mutations in these spawning pits eventually lead to the creation of the other orkish races.

Orcs

Contrary to popular belief, Orcs have near-human capacity for intelligence, they just generally don't get much education. Some orcs have integrated with civilized societies, but most live a tribal lifestyle, Orcs are generally very muscular and have an average capacity for magic.

Goblins

Originally the runts of an orkish litter, they eventually separated into their own race. Goblins are generally viewed by most other races as a sort of vermin, as they tend to eat a lot and breed very quickly and infest and area if not dealt with soon. Goblins are very small and tend to have short lifespans(Maybe five years), that combined with their terrible attention spans leads to most goblins being very stupid; however, when forcefully educated they seem to have a very high capacity for intelligence, such as being able to learn the common language (for the most part) within a year of their birth (But most don't). They have also been found to have a very high capacity for magic, though again most don't use it..

Abberant creatures, or abberations, are creature's whose native habitat is in a different realm of the multiverse than the natural realm (Where the game begins). Borders between realms can be shaky, which leads to connections forming and creatures passing between the realms. Many abberant plains operate on completely different rules than the natural realm, so abberations often seem very strange to beings in the natural realm.

And it would be dumb of you to expect that in an MMO, I've never expected TESO to break away from the standard MMO gameplay style. I'll just be playing it to see the level-world design and story in relation to other TES games, and to keep my rep for having played every major TES game besides Redguard.

As far as the graphics, what I've seen of the game really wasn't bad at all, you sure you don't just have a shitty PC?

Doodlequest is back! This time around it'll be private to prevent me having to deal with a constant stream of new players bogging down my workload. Do not post in this thread asking to join the game, you won't be accepted.

What is doodlequest?

Doodlequest is a play-by-post RPG that plays out like something of a combination of Dungeons and Dragons and Dragon Quest. There's stats and dice rolling, but I manage most of that on the side so that all the players need to worry about is strategy and how they play their characters. It's called doodlequest because I will be constantly drawing doodles of what is happening IC.

Character Creation

Since we're going to try and be a bit more serious with this iteration of doodlequest, I'm going to ask for a little more info on your characters, stuff you would expect to be asked in RPs.

First, if you want your character to be part of a race we haven't already established, you'll have to create it.
Race Name: What are they called? If they have multiple names, list them.
Racial Appearance: How do they look? You can give me an image to reference but make sure to point out any specific things you feel define the race.
Racial Traits: What physical traits do members of this race generally have? Are they smart or stupid? Language?
Society: Anything noteworthy I should consider when writing their society into the world? Where do they usually live?

Name: Keep it as something that would be acceptable in a fantasy setting
Gender: Male or Female or Other(Only if your race allows it)
Race: If it is not already created, you'll have to create it.
Alignment: How does your character feel about following laws? (Chaotic-Neutral-Lawful) Are they the type of person who would risk their safety for others (Good) or sacrifice others to advance themselves (Evil)? (Good-Neutral-Evil)
Motivation: What is your character's goal in life? This could be as simple as wanting to be rich and powerful or as specific as avenging the death of a lost friend.
Role/Class: Short description of what role your character would play in an adventure.
Appearance: What does your character look like? You can give reference images. Remember that I have to draw this character regularly, so try not to put in too many unnecessary details.
Bio: Anything noteworthy happen in your characters life? How have they learned the skills they have? Obviously, we don't know much about the world right now so you don't need to write in exact details. Be as descriptive as you want.
My Wish: What would you (The player) like to do/see in this adventure, be as vague or specific as you like.

Stats/Skills

--- Survival Stats ---
Health

A representation of your character's overall well-being. If it reaches 0, your character will fall unconscious; if it reaches negative-half the maximum health, your character will die. It can be recovered slowly through rest, or quickly through magic, potions, or medical treatment.

Fatigue

A representation of your character's energy and tiredness. It decreases slowly over time when you aren't resting, and quickly when you use skills or do things that are particularly tiring. It can be recovered via rest, eating/drinking, magic, and potions. If it reaches 0, your character will pass out.

Defense

Your character's resistance to damage. It is calculated by combining whatever natural resistance your character may have plus what resistance their armor offers. It will be subtracted from most damage you take.

Evasion

Your character's ability to evade incoming attacks. It is calculated by combining whatever natural evasion your character may have plus what evasion their equipment offers. It will be subtracted from an attack's accuracy when they are rolling to hit.

These measure your skill against the various challenge an adventurer might find themself facing.

Brawling

Your character's ability to fight hand-to-hand, with both bare-fists and melee weapons. Melee weapons and skills will require you to have a certain level of this ability to use them properly. It is also used to determine unarmed damage and will be checked when you attempt to perform a particularly difficult melee move or get into a fight that is not serious enough to require actual combat.

Aiming

Your character's ability to spot things from a distance and properly control ranged weapons. Ranged weapons and skills will require a certain level of this ability to use them properly. It will be checked when you attempt to perform particularly difficult shots.

Scouting

Your skill at running/maneuvering and at tracking and detecting things. This will be checked whenever your speed or balance is tested, whenever you try to climb or move in a way that I consider difficult, whenever you attempt to search an area or listen for something, when you attempt to dodge or run from combat, and when you are travelling to determine how fast you move and what encounters you have.

Infiltrating

Your skill at moving stealthily, picking locks and pockets, and finding alternate means of entering buildings. Whenever you do something involved with stealth or thievery, this will likely be the skill tested.

Maging

Your skill with magic and knowledge of magical lore. Magical spells, skills, and items will require you to have a certain level in this skill to use it properly. This will be used to determine your success in performing difficult spells and rituals, when your knowledge of magical lore is tested, or when you attempt to learn/examine unknown magics.

Thinking

Your character's general intelligence and knowledge of non-magical things. Particularly complex items wit This will be checked when your character's knowledge of non-magical things is tested, when you attempt to read a particularly difficult book, craft items, brew potions, build and operate complex vehicles, and when you attempt to do things that require a certain level of general skill (performing music, making art, first aid)

Convincing

Your skill at communicating with others and convincing them of things. I will check this whenever you begin interacting with an NPC to determine their beginning disposition towards you (Whether they like or dislike you), and whenever you attempt to convince them of something or change their disposition towards you. This will also affect your prices in trading with NPCs.

--- Skills/Spells ---
Throughout the adventure, you will acquire skills that allow you to spend stamina points to do special things. Magical Spells follow the same rules as skills. Here are the stats involved with skills.

Name:
Cost: How much stamina is used to cast this skill/spell. Some skill may also have a health cost, in which case it will say here.
Requirements: Skills can have various requirements. Most commonly they will require you to have a high enough ability score (Such as Maging for most spells). Some may require you to have specific items or be in a particular place.
Effect: What the skill does, it can be a lot of things.

If it is a spell, it will also have:

Difficulty: This will give an idea of how difficult it is to cast the spell. If it has a difficulty of 'none', then you will succeed at casting the spell automatically. If it does have a difficulty, then I will make a roll to determine whether or not you succeed at casting.

If it is an offensive skill/spell, it will also have:

Range: Short, Mid, or Long.
Element: I will explain this later.
Accuracy: 1-100%, your chance to hit with the attack.
Damage: How much damage the attack will do.

--- Items ---
Items, especially weapons and armor, also have their own stats.

Name
Worth: How much this item is generally traded for, traders usually aren't fair enough to go by this exact value.
Durability: A measure of the items stability, this will decrease with use and increase with repair. If an item's durability gets out of hand it will be destroyed. Some items will not have a durability or may be impossible to repair (Such as potions, which have a limited number of uses).
Requirements: Same as with skills, some items may require you to have a certain ability score or skill to be able to use them properly. Magical items usually require some maging ability and complex items or books usually require some thinking ability.
Effect: What the item will do when used, this may be nothing for mundane items.

if it is a weapon, it will also have:

Range: Short, Mid, or Long
Element: I'll explain this later.
Accuracy: The chance to hit 1-100%
Damage: How much damage it does after hitting.

if it is armor, it will also have:

Defense+: How much defense this armor gives the user when worn.
Evasion+: How much added chance of evasion this armor gives when worn.
