Gwen knew that it would have been better to wait for someone to give her direction, but she was much too curious about the pyramid. Where had it come from? Unable to control herself, she took a step further inside and dragged her metal suitcases in with her. She wasn't even sure whether she was actually allowed to venture further yet but her head jerked to the side as she thought she heard a door close nearby and wondered who was here. Were they even human?
Looking around her, she had found herself in a green hallway that seemed to lead to various doors. Her eyes circled her surroundings and she caught sight of a security camera in the corner of the ceiling. "Well, there's definitely someone watching," Gwen said quietly to herself. She gave one wave of her hand, as though she was trying to use the force on the camera.
Despite the fact that she felt a little scared, she knew she would have to press onward. Without looking, Gwen bent slightly and tried to pick up her metal suitcases. She hadn't noticed that one of them had not been latched securely and the case opened with a loud metallic bang. A few test tubes dropped out and made clinking noises as they hit the floor and Gwen quickly knelt down and gathered all of her fallen equipment, slapping her palm to her forehead for being so clumsy.

Gwennyth sat gingerly in the back of the shiny black sedan, her arms crossed as she stared out the window at the familiar scenery. It had only been 2 weeks since she'd started her internship as a DNA analyst and already, they gave her a job on the field. Nobody had briefed her about what was happening, or what she was meant to do. All she knew was that they had found something strange and had asked her to take a look. But she was only an intern with absolutely no experience on the field. How was she supposed to be of any use? She was completely clueless, even more so as she was going in alone. She had no supervisor, no assistant, it was just going to be her.

As they neared the intersection close to Benjamin Banneker Park, she could already see it. Poking above the trees was what seemed to be the tip of a giant pyramid, just like the ones in Egypt. The driver dropped her off at the edge of the park and she quickly gathered her gear and made her way towards the strange structure. She was carrying two large metal suitcases and a satchel that hung at her side containing her notebook. As she moved closer to what seemed to be an entrance into the pyramid, Gwen had to stop and drop her gear. Not only was it extremely heavy, but she also needed time to take in the sight before her. She stood staring up at the highest point of the pyramid, wondering what secrets it held. Even more so, why did they need a DNA analyst?
Name: Eliza Ailes
Age: 20
Appearance:

Personailty: Although she is quiet, it is not because she is shy. She has a tendency to observe a person before making a judgment on whether they are friend or foe and usually, it is the latter. Eliza likes to keep to herself and is always found stuck behind a book, most likely something to do with toxins. With her so-called-friends, she tends not to state her opinion unless asked for it and does not waste time with useless small talk unless it is something that will benefit her. In fact, she won't do anything unless it is for her benefit. She is spoiled and will fight to get what she wants. However, she also knows the right time to back down... and let her poison do the job for her.
Bio: Eliza grew up in a privileged family as an only child. Her mother despised her but to her father, she was his golden child. He spoiled her with everything she ever asked for unless it was genuinely out of his reach, like when she asked him to buy Antarctica so she could have penguins. When she was younger, she was a sweet child and always respected her parents' wishes simply because they too, respected hers. But her mother was jealous of her and that was when the voices in her head began.
One night, at dinner, her mother had added cyanide into a cup of Mountain Dew, Eliza's favourite soda. At any other time, she would have completely drained the cup in one go but that night, something... or someone, told her otherwise. Her mother persisted in asking her to drink, but Eliza fought back. With a single touch, her mother collapsed and was rushed to hospital, where they discovered that she suffered from haemophilia, a blood disease that stopped blood from clotting. A single cut and her mother was certain to bleed to death.
That night, she ran a blade dipped in the poisoned Mountain Dew across her mother's wrist. The cut was not deep enough for an instant kill, but she bled for hours before her last breath. A single cut.
The next day, while her father mourned his loss, Eliza was also tested in case the gene carried. But what she had was much worse... Lymphoma. It was an illness that affected the immune system, preventing the body from ever fighting off disease. So it became a part of her and poison is her greatest friend.
Demon: Disease

((are you still accepting? :/ ))

Name: Gwennyth Harlow
Age: 20
Species: Human
Appearance:

Bio: Growing up, she always believed that there was something else out there... something inhuman. Secretly, she always had a deep fascination with witchcraft and as a child, pretended to make potions with mud, worms and rain water. She was always labelled as a "daydreamer" as she always had a big imagination, believing that somewhere, there was a land filled with magical creatures. But when she hit high school and became fascinated with science, she started to lose hope in ever finding unnatural beings. In particular, she delved into natural medicines and DNA and the days of her concocting potions turned into acid synthesis and genome structure. While studying, she tried to make a living by creating medicines from herbs and other natural organisms but again, she was rejected and frowned upon by many. Some even called her a witch, even though her medicines were effective cures. It was only with great luck that she ended up scoring herself an internship in Washington DC as a junior DNA analyst.
But the day they found the pyramid, the city that ridiculed her for believing turned into the magical land she had always dreamed of. But is it really as good as she hoped?

Emma grinned at the flattering comment. "Why thank you sir. Your name is quite nice too. It's a pleasure to meet you." Emma said cheerfully and directed herself to the bodyguard, who obviously wasn't too fond of her. It seemed that he was still showing off his grand dentures. "Don't worry Chase, I think your name is nice too. It suits you in fact. You seem like someone who enjoys a fun pursuit," Emma said nudging him with her elbow. Despite his previous warning, she remained stubborn, deliberately annoying him.
