One more question: Do the D'Cerf coven have a standing army? If so, do they have a name? Such as the Legion of the White Rhino or some shit like that?

Edit: For clarification I'm writing a CS around the premise that my character is the Raiding Commander for the D'Cerf's raiding company which I assume would be in charge of forcibly collecting those "taxes" we discussed if diplomatic attempts were unsuccessful.
Before I begin making my CS, is there any limit to the number of characters we can make? Also, are there any limits on equipment/magical abilities?
Bumpity bump
You can't stop my character with laws... prisons maybe... but not laws.

In a combat scenario, how does one protect themselves against a direct magical assault? I'm talking snapping somebody's neck with telekinesis, rather than shooting fire at their face.

I'm sure you could get inventive. Magical objects imbued with protective charms that would make one immune to something like telekinesis, but at the same time be powerless to ward against incoming fire.
But check out the FAQ for more info, once its put up.
I guess I'll just make that a question while I'm at it.
What about the existence of runes and magical charms for protection or augmentations?
Well you've answered the gist of my question, but I'm still confused about this coven's retention of power. For instance, you mentioned that within the coven itself, they will have a hierarchical caste system which may range from servants to the Lords, but who brings home the bacon? Typically, in relation to our own world, civilization emerged from a development of agriculture and an abundance of food, in which political systems only emerged because there was now a surplus of resources to retain an army. Political factions always rely on force or some industry in order to maintain their dominance. So do the D'Cerf's utilize force or industry? Do they use fear and racketeering to engender continual financial/resource support from the, let's say, outlying regular serf villages whom they impose taxes on (taxes in the form of actual currency, or just a percentage of supplies)? Or do they maintain power and patronage with their mysterious underlying occult, which may also put the serfdom in a perpetual state of zealous traditional support? Do they convince the public that the other covens are the enemy?

Essentially the question can be boiled down to; how do they garner support to fill the storehouse, and what methods do they use to galvanize public opinion to prop up their reign?

I ask these questions to clarify because this is the aspect that really drew me in.
I'm interested. I'm impressed at how thoroughly you answer the questions posed thus far.
What makes these covens special? How do they retain their political/occult power? If magic is something that is relatively common (akin to a natural force) how do they stay on top? For instance, do they have a serfdom (you said this was in a time similar to the dark ages), a common populace limited in the ways of magic due to resources and access to things like tutelage or archaic texts, reserved to toiling in the fields to stay alive in the presence of the coven? I also noticed that in your OOC snippet you made a direct distinction between an occult leader, and a political one. I guess I'm just kind of wondering about the power structure, although if you planned to release this info later, then I digress.

Other than that, I'm 100% interested in joining.

Selling weed across the cosmos, you entertain me so.

He will fuck with nothing!! :o
That's what I do. Tickle fancies and do tricks and shit.
I'm down for this, if you still need characters. Is there an IC up yet? Are people already playing?
Well I'm trying to stay on top of it now, for realsies. I toldja I'd be much more active from now on :D

Oh, and I hope you don't mind me taking the liberty to modify the greenroom in my post. I figured its a room just for my character though.
