I'm just a simple college student working his way through life while simultaneously testing the limits of how much caffeine and alcohol the human body can subsist on before it gives out. Just call me Shade.

Having been unfortunate enough to take a seat farther from the exit, Isaac's departure from the assembly room was a bit slower than most. "Man, no one said anything about initiation." he sighed, completely forgetting the fact that his mother had told him multiple times about an initiation process over the week, proving that, as it turned out, ignorance wasn't always bliss. Isaac shuffled through the crowd, doing it best to avoid bumping people with his bag which now clung tightly to his back, however there were still the occasional complaints from his fellow students when the inevitable happened. "Sorry...oops...my bad man..hey, that time you bumped into me." he said as he shuffled until finally reaching the edge of the virtual sea of students, only to come face to face with a wall. "Okay I take it back, this "herd mentality" thing sucks ass..." he growled as he turned and once more fought his way through the crowd before finally freeing himself once more, this time thankfully without running into a wall. "Alright, two hours until initiation. Guess i'd better find a partner..." he said as he craned his neck, eliciting a series of pops from the vertebrae.
Having been left to walk on his own, Isaac shrugged and leaned down before whacking his weapon against the ground a few times to shatter the excess ice, "Gonna be an interesting year, that's for sure.". Isaac turned, slipping his weapon back onto his belt as he entered the academy, half listening to the conversations around him as he slipped his lenses up once more. Under the lights of the academy his eyes glinted brightly as he looked at everything that the entrance of the academy had to offer, "This is nice. Sort of makes me wish I could see regular colors again." he said approvingly.
Welp folks, i'm calling it in for the night. T'was a fun ride but a man needs his sleep. And if this tournament thing does indeed occur at some point down the road, then I pity the poor soul that has to fight Isaac. He's a pretty bro-tier guy right now, but i'll leave you all with one thought: What kind of guy must he be like on the battlefield to have designed such a cruel weapon? Nighty night my little dumplings~
"Isaac Montenegro, nice to meet you." Isaac said before nodded politely at Gertrude and Jie, though despite his greeting he stared at Simon's weapon out of the corner of his eye. The blade that Simon carried was massive and intricate, sharp didn't even begin to cover what it was once it had been fully unfurled, and with the range it seemed to boast, Isaac was certain that the weapon would prove to be extremely difficult to overcome without a ranged weapon. What's more, it appeared heavy, however Simon wielded it rather freely, meaning that either he was extremely strong, or the weapon was deceptively light, either way, it was something to be wary of in combat. "I believe that introductory assembly is going to start soon. Soo...yeah we should hurry.", Isaac blinked snapped once more out of his thoughts by another person, "Yea, you're probably right. We should probably pick up the pace a bit.".

Isaac sped up slightly, though not enough to leave his newfound acquaintances in the dust seeing as he was still enjoying the subject shifting to weapons, "That's some weapon you've got there Simon. Bet you can get some really clean cuts and stabs in." he said before withdrawing his weapon from his belt. "Truth be told, sometimes I wish i'd gone with a smoother bladed weapon, diablo fría can certainly be messy to use if i'm not careful.", Issac turned and began to walk backwards so that he could face Simon before pressing a button on the bottom of his weapon's handle. The dust inside of his weapon began to ebb out, extending the serrated edges of his weapon until they hung like icicles, "She's great for pulling in opponents and tearing into them though, so I guess there's that, right?". Wisps of mist rose from the from the weapon as he held it up, Isaac wondered if he should mention what happened to things that he actually cut, but decided agains it, he didn't want to unnerve his classmates after all.
Isaac found himself suppressing a grimace as the tall woman who had previously been shouting came upon him and Simon and cut in with an inquiry, he half expected her to yell again, however he was surprised when she asked in a subdued, albeit, cold, tone. "Well, i'm more or less just following whichever crowd seems largest at the moment." he admitted before pointing ahead to a large group of students moving in one direction, "Here's hoping that the whole 'herd mentality' thing doesn't come back to bite me in the ass, eh?" Isaac said with a hint of mirth in his voice.
If I might throw in my two cents as well, it's actually incredibly useful, provided your character is in an environment that would allow for full use of your semblance. Say for example you managed to catch your opponent at night but don't want to kill them, you could use your night vision to dart in and out, scoring light attacks that would allow you to wear the enemy out overtime, though the blows themselves will be nothing compared to the mental toll such attacks take. The fear coupled with pain will make them erratic, paranoid, and unorganized, their moves would become easier to read seeing as they themselves can no longer think straight. It would make going against your character in a dark place a true nightmare. That's actually how I intended to have Isaac fight when in the dark, he'd use his infrared vision to creep in, tear into an opponent with that wicked weapon, then slip back into the shadows as they bleed out, leaving their imagination to fill in the gap for whatever horrible thing just hit them.
Isaac couldn't help but stifle a small chuckle, his new acquaintance had shot out a string of questions quicker than a gatling gun could fire, only to catch himself and give his name as well as the name of his girlfriend. "Relax man, you're probably just a bit excited, I get it. The name's Isaac, Isaac Montenegro, it's nice to meet you. And to answer that other string of questions, i'm fine, everything's good, and yea, I guess i'm a tad excited.". Isaac reached down and tapped the curved handle of his weapon lovingly, "After all, I can't wait to see what I can really do with my baby here.".
"Hey!", Isaac was suddenly pulled from his thoughts as a voice called out, seemingly directed at him. Tugging his lenses back down over his eyes, Isaac turned in time to notice a fellow student that was approaching him, 'Huh, guess we're getting introductions out of the way pretty early.' he internally mused. Just as Isaac was getting ready to introduce himself, a tall young woman suddenly began shouting at the top of her lungs about what she seemed to want on her team, eliciting a grimace from Isaac, "Might wanna tone it down a few decibels lady, jeez...." he grunted before deciding to address the boy walking towards him. Offering Simon a curt nod, Isaac put on a polite smile as he readied himself for his first social interaction of the school year "Hey, how's it going?".
Isaac grunted a bit as he felt the ship landing, "Well...time to get moving." he muttered, sounding slightly better now that the pills were finally working their way through his system. He paused briefly to unzip something from his bag -a strange metallic object with a curved handle which sported a button on the end- and slid it through his belt loop before shouldering his bag and following the others out. It wasn't long before he heard students mentioning how nice the school looked, prompting him to reach up towards his lenses, "Couldn't hurt to take a peek." he said to himself as he slowly removed his glasses. Isaac's field of vision instantly exploded into a canvas of reds, oranges, yellows, blues, and greens as his eyes picked up the heat signatures of everything around him. He winced a bit, however the pain was tolerable now, "Whoa, trippy." Isaac said as he slid his shades up and rested them on the thick head of pale hair he sported. Moving on the outer edge of the crowd, Isaac's eyes darted about quickly as he eagerly examined everything around him, though despite his excitement, in the back of his mind Isaac couldn't help but wonder what the actual colors of the objects he looked at were.
Welp, looks like ol' Shade'll be able to post more frequently sooner than expected. Huzzah!
