Holy fuck. Ok, shit. Insane hiatus. Fuck. I'm still around folks, just been beyond extremely busy. Will try (heavy emphasis on try) to be more active in the coming months.

As someone who works for a pet store I both love and hate pixar. The next person that tries to ask me if we have "a dory fish" for their goldfish bowl is getting straight up clubbed like a baby seal

I'm just a simple college student working his way through life while simultaneously testing the limits of how much caffeine and alcohol the human body can subsist on before it gives out. Just call me Shade.

As the doors swung open to reveal the behemoth of a co-headmaster known as mammoth and the class, Dimitri could help but let his smile falter a bit. The deep rumbling voice of the man certainly didn't help matters as he barked an order to Dimitri, who did as instructed without question. "*Alright, could've started a bit smoother, but at least he hasn't said i'm in trouble yet. Maybe if I do well he'll ignore the fact that i'm late*", Dimitri mused to himself as he fell in with the others. Once Mammoth mentioned an obstacle course, Dimitri's expression became that of amusement and surprise "**The more things change, the more they stay the same. I guess it's true even when it comes to school.**" he muttered with a tinge of mirth in his tone. Although he made a point not to show it Dimitri was fairly confident that he would at least succeed in making it through the course with a passing grade. After all, while he was still capable of getting fatigued, his lack of organic muscles meant that he could endure a bit more movement without running into issues like cramps, though over heating in his brain was still something he had to be wary of.
> Whats going on icly? So many pages to read x.x Physical education class. We're going to be required to run an obstacle course without the usage of our powers.
Reading through Ariella's advanced powers makes me curious. The molecular explosion occurs due to rapidly increasing molecular friction, right? As for the molecular freezing, you stated that it didn't manifest itself in the form of ice, is it a freeze related to actual cold, or just a reduction of movement for molecules? By which I mean does she have the ability to nullify a speedster's ability with proper training, or could she induce hypothermia with a touch? I find this super power concept to be greatly fascinating. -- @ Horrid "WRASSLIN" I found this amusing. I am now stuck with the image of a 5'2", fiteen year old girl suplexing a behemoth of a man who she made light as a feather. And I am losing my shit. I don't know how much my sides can take -- Not trying to stir up anything or make it seem like I'm trying to take the reigns here, but I think that these powers could be workable if tweaked to balance the scale (yes yes, I know, pot, kettle, all that jazz considering what Decibel can do, but I digress), say for example Ariella's abilities required physical contact or at the very least close proximity to make use of the molecular manipulation?
"Crap, crap, crap, crap!" Dimitri muttered under his breath as he jogged towards his classroom. When he'd arrived, much like the other students, he'd attended the assembly, gone through the proper procedure of setting up his schedule, and located his room. Unfortunately that had been as far as he'd gotten with productivity as after locating his room he proceeded to take his time ensuring that he looked presentable. When living outside, he'd hardly given much thought to his appearance save for ensuring none of his parts rusted and keeping dirt out of his speakers, however being around so many neatly dressed students managed to make him a bit more conscious of his looks. The fact that he was more machine than man meant nothing, but he'd be goddamned if he looked like mudbot3000. Dimitri had sat down and proceeded to pick out dirt, twigs, and various types of lint from his body before wiping down his prosthetics until they gleamed, and in the process lost track of time. It was only that he looked at the pocket watch he'd lifted from a guy three weeks ago that he realized that he was late and caused him to scramble to class. Upon finding his class, Dimitri pressed his ear to the door to see what was going on inside. The sounds were muffled, but he believed he could make out the sounds of people talking within, "Oh good, I think they're talking. At least that means i'll be in a class with people rather than just soulless machines." he mused to himself as he smiled and wrapped his knuckles on the door. While he awaited permission to enter, Dimitri put on a smile, it had been a while since he'd attended a school, so he might as well try to make a good first impression to ensure the year went smoothly.
> > Understood! > > > > -- > > > > So, in order to avoid conflicting with the current flow, might I be made aware of current events? Also, how would you as the GM prefer I enter the RP? Would you prefer Dimitri having been within the current class or late? > > Both are okay with me, though if you enter late Mammoth would probably say something about getting dentation or something XD Welp, looks like Dimitri will be dealing with detention :T. Here's hoping that what passes for detention at H.I.V.E doesn't leave him in need of repairs, lol.
Understood! -- So, in order to avoid conflicting with the current flow, might I be made aware of current events? Also, how would you as the GM prefer I enter the RP? Would you prefer Dimitri having been within the current class or late?
> Holy crap numbers! I had no clue that it was that strong... It may just be in a small area that is some seriously out there sound you have to admit, I mean louder than a rocket launching off?! Despite the ay it is released I still find it nearly imposable for anyone to be able to dodge his attacks because as far as I know sound waves are pretty damn fast, the speed of sound is roughly 770 MPH I think. I am willing to let the body thing slid as from what you said it seems he isn't stronger, faster, more agile, etc. than the average person because of it. > > ...I really like the idea of the character and I do like to give people the benefit of the doubt when it comes to OP concerns... I will like my Co-GM Wave's thoughts on this again before I give a final verdict on this if that is okay with you Shade. Apologies for my sudden disappearance, had an errand to run. I'm completely fine with you taking the time to review my sheet. Thanks for giving me time to work out the kinks and discussing the character with me rather than just saying no :) > I assume you are going for a similar device to Cyborg's White Noise Cannon (Sonic Cannon). For its capability we would have to assume it is well above 200dB. This is a fictional type universe so I suppose it would be a matter of what would happen if he fired it at somebody? Obviously Cyborg doesn't insta-kill his opponent under most circumstances even though it should. Bingo, you've hit it right on the head with the cyborg reference. Dimitri's body however will not be nearly as strong or high tech.
> Good god, 354dB? The level is sound would be insane. Guns and rocket engines reach 170-180dB. The level of sound would be greater than 1,000,000,000,000,000 times that (for every 10dB the level of sound goes up by a factor of 10). That would rupture organs easily and if you survived forget ever hearing again. Indeed it is, but again, the emitters he has are small, and won't even come close to covering the range of a true sound cannon, not to mention he receives damage as well. Think of it as a glass cannon of sorts.
> Okay let try to get this right as I am not the sharpest tool in the shed. His blasters have the capability to kill someone, more if they are all in the same area, pretty much instantly and no real way to you know... survive it unless they can some how move fast enough to dodge sound waves. This raises another question how far is too far for it to not kill a person? Moving on to his body it is basically made of recyclable parts that he can interchange? There is no real risk of him being injured now is there? He basically only needs to do a quick patch up and he is good to go. Not to mention you just said he can shatter a considerably dense and durable metal as well as get pretty much be torn apart by a Supervillain like Mammoth and be able to walk away from it. Sorry I'm just concerned as there is no real limitations I can see in him as well as he basically has instant kill switches built into his hands... I understand your concern, totally myself for going further in depth with him. His blasters don't go from 0dB to 354dB, I plan for there to be a build up to maximum output, and leave the decision for how long it'll take to you so it'll be fairer, and while it is tricky to avoid getting hit, it can be done as the sound extends in a conical manner. For the sake of avoiding becoming OP, i'll say that the range at which the sound is still considered fatal when he's going full blast is about three meters and he can only sustain it in short bursts before it begins to damage his augments (we'll say about seven seconds), the flaw being that the speakers aren't big enough to have a large range like that of an actual sound cannon, and one has to be within that conical shaped range, other wise it'd just be an extremely loud noise now that one isn't being subjected to the other forces like pressure and vibration. As far as his limbs go, the kit isn't meant to let him switch out parts, rather keep them functioning at the bare minimum (i.e. being able to move his fingers and pick things up) after receiving partial damage to his limbs, were as serious damage such as the blow out of a speaker would require a longer period of time to acquire the proper equipment and actually repair, were as the kit is nothing more than a patch job. The kit also hinges on him having at least one functioning limb to do the patching, so if both limbs are damaged, not only is he defenseless, but if he can actually escape, he'll not only be in need of outside assistance for repair, but he'll be unable to do the most basic of tasks such as feed himself until his fingers and arms can at least move. Against a strength based super, Dimitri flat out has no chance going hand to hand as his arms are built to endure a fair bit of damage but do not augment his strength in any way. And i'll admit I might have come off as OP by saying "walk away", the better term would be "he would survive the beat down", though he'd still require extensive and time consuming repairs that he himself may not be able to do after the fight. -- EDIT I also forgot to mention that just because Dimitri has the power to kill someone, doesn't mean he's willing to do so outside of a life threatening altercation. He's still a kid after all, and with the exception of child soldiers (that have been that way their entire life) or children with mental disorders, I can't imagine a kid would do something that drastic just because they can. Also, although Tungsten is hard, it's quite brittle in composition (in truth I wanted his harms to be made of the stuff, but again, brittle, not to mention hella heavy).
Sure thing, possible wall of text incoming: There are a set of speaker-like sound emitters similar to that of a sound cannon built into the palms of his hands that can emit and extremely wide range of sound frequencies that range from too high for a person to hear, to about 154dB louder than the amount of sound that is hypothesized to be able to kill a human being (200dB). The sound he produces is not enough to be fatal itself rather the bulk of the damage would come from the intense pressure, vibrations, and force generated from the emitters. The sound waves he produces travel in a sort of conical pattern with most of the intensity being lost as the intended target is farther away or outside of the cones (in other words, if you're far away or even a few feet behind him you'll still hear the sound but you won't be damaged because you aren't being subjected to the other forces at work). His body itself has been built to withstand a good deal of the stress thanks to his father's augmentation during his surgery, swapping out the original aluminum prosthetics that his mother made with ones made from a titanium alloy. Most of the bones in his upper body and nearly all of his organs are now artificial, some of them implanted because his original ones were damaged, with others being implanted to avoid rupturing or breaking upon activation of the emitters, only his brain (which is protected by a plastic polymer dome) is still organic. Now for the issues with his body; because the weapons he was equipped with were experimental, he can't just go all out whenever he pleases as his body hasn't been specifically tailored for just that task, meaning his prosthetic arms can be damaged by sustained loud noise emissions (hence his field repair kit). tl;dr- He could theoretically shatter a sheet of tungsten carbide with a strong blast, and could walk away from a beat down from a guy like mammoth, however both situations would leave him in need of repair.
