As someone who works for a pet store I both love and hate pixar. The next person that tries to ask me if we have "a dory fish" for their goldfish bowl is getting straight up clubbed like a baby seal

I'm just a simple college student working his way through life while simultaneously testing the limits of how much caffeine and alcohol the human body can subsist on before it gives out. Just call me Shade.

Dimitri woke with a start as his alarm clock screeched into his ear incessantly and groaned before fumbling a bit and shutting the device of. He gave a heavy sigh and rolled out of bed to go about his morning routine to prepare for the day; A quick shower and brushing of teeth and hair followed by a few minutes of standing in the mirror to make sure he could still put on the right face to blend with the popular crowd. After that he threw on a pair of slightly faded dark blue skinny jeans,a purple t shirt, a grey hoodie, and a pair of black and white converses, topping of his ensemble with a black and silver pair of bottle cap opener rings on his thumbs.

After gathering his supplies for the day and saying goodbye to his mother, Dimitri exited the house and began to jog towards his bus stop, hurriedly jamming a poptart into his face as he went.
Real name: Dimitri Collins
Avatar name: Paradoxical_Pariah (will accept being called Paradox, Dox, or Pari)
Age: 17
1 Ability: Clone generation (limit of three. Stats are divided and distributed evenly amongst himself and his clones)
3 Weapons: Modified grappling hook and short sword
Flaw: Dimitri suffers from a rather great deal of anxiety and some depression due to him having to constantly keep the charade he's built up in school. Due to this he dreads social interactions for fear that he'll slip up and lose his status.
Appearance:

Background: Everyone who knows Dimitri can tell you three things about him: He's always up for a good time, he loves getting into trouble, and he loves being in the limelight. What those people don't know is that all three of those things are false. Dimitri was originally a quiet and withdrawn child who was often the subject of bullying in his younger years, and to better cope developed a more outspoken nature to try and fit in. It started off simple: A few snide remarks to teachers and other authority figures, a prank or two on those that were below him on the social latter, the occasional making up and passing along of rumors about who did what. Dimitri originally intended to just do it long enough to get himself out of the line of sight for those that would bully him, something he succeeded in rather beautifully. Unfortunately for him his new found status required more and more effort to maintain with his ruse, which in turn raised his status further, which in turn required more effort. Things spiraled out of control before he had a chance to reign it in and before Dimitri knew it, he was one of the most popular kids in school. He was always the one expected to be the life of a party, or to be the one with the juiciest gossip on hand to dish out. The burden of this act continued to wear him down and eat at him to the point where he became almost clinically depressed. His salvation came in the form of a new game that allowed him an opportunity to be someone other than the person people thought he was. A chance to unwind and actually be himself again and find friends who aren't interested in him because they know who he is.

I grimace with disgust at the smell and cautiously dip the tip of my tongue into the liquid.
Jacque's brows shot up in surprise at the answer he had received. The man reached up and gently removed his sunglasses, revealing weary looking pair of dark grey eyes as he went to close and tuck the glasses into his coat. "An inn with gratis stay, how interesting. Must be receiving government funding or donations then. Either that or the owner of this inn is a lot richer than expected." He mused aloud before mulling over the idea of offering his assistance every now and then. Working sort of defeated the purpose of a vacation, however the idea of lounging around and doing absolutely nothing was something Jacque couldn't quite see himself doing. His mouth turned upwards into a soft grin, "I suppose I can help out every now and then with the odd job or two around the place since i'm being provided free boarding.".

Hey, don't worry about it Diz. Something will come to you eventually, so don't stress yourself.
Jacque nodded with satisfaction and fell in line behind the others as they followed after Wyvern, once more producing his flask from the interior lining of his coat and uncapping it for one more nip of scotch. It wasn't until he heard one of the James' pipe up with a question that he remembered one of his own that he'd meant to ask earlier. "Mmph, *gulp*, While we're all asking questions, what are your fees for lodging? Are payments going to be of the nightly variety or will this be more monthly like an apartment complex?".

Truth be told, Jacque wasn't quite sure how long he intended to stay at the inn, especially when he considered the fact that he still had a home that, while paid for, still had bills that needed to be paid monthly. The tenant that he was renting the property to for at least the next year had agreed to help foot the bill in place of paying rent, however, Jacque still wanted to ensure that he wasn't likely to end up burning through his life's savings for what was essentially an extended vacation.
"Well I don't know about talons, but I suppose that response will do. Your sense of humor seems to still be in functioning form." Jacque grunted and rose back to his feet, sparing a moment to dust a bit of dirt from his pant leg before clapping his hands together once and spinning on his heel to face Wy. "The guy more or less seems to be in one piece, so, what say you about us getting this tour going? I think I speak for everyone when I say we'd like to see what this place has to offer and get settled in." The werewolf stated before offering both Wy and Doctor Stanley his hands to help them up.
This is more a discussion for the interest checks section, but what the hell, i'll throw an idea or two out. If sci-fi is a main preference, perhaps something with elements found in preexisting role play systems such as Rogue Trader or Cyberpunk would suffice? Something Shadowrun based is another very viable option considering it blends both sci-fi and fantasy pretty well. What would be the goal here as far as characters are concerned? Good, evil, neutral? Will different species be a thing both PC and NPC wise, or will it be human only? Genre wise, what are you looking for beyond sci-fi or fantasy? Combat? Slice of life? Mystery? If we pin these things down first then a plot can be worked around based on what we've got going.

First off, welcome to the site. It's always nice to see new blood around here. I know i'm not a GM or even a Co-Gm for this thread, but I generally try and lend a helping hand in an RP whenever it seems as though I can. The character submissions you gave links to, although interesting, are either not something that would blend well with the nature of the roleplay, or do not synch up with one of the rules and requirements laid out by Books. An easier way to get accepted would be perhaps to peruse the list of creatures made available to us by Books on page one of the OOC thread, or to ask wether or not you can play as a certain type of creature before hand, either via PM or the OOC section before you actually post a character submission, so as to avoid wasting both time and effort pounding out an idea only to have it rejected.

As an extra bit of advice, it might be easier for everyone involved if you were to copy/paste your character submissions here as opposed to providing a link, as the page may not load up for everyone who clicks it. Not to say that you explicitly *need* to do it, just my two cents on the matter.
Jacque was tempted to lower himself onto a knee and try to coax the boy into relaxing and answering the question asked, however something told him that doing so might only agitate the child further. He respected Charles' wishes and raised his hands in a placating manner to indicate he'd keep his distance, all the while keeping his focus on the small red thing that floated around Charles. Perhaps in time he'd get the opportunity to ask again, but for now there were other matters to attend to.

He stepped around the group of James' and strode over to and wiggled his way into the small group that had formed around Spinel, figuring that he could help try and ensure the guy was okay, if only to shorten the time spent waiting for the tour. "Sounded like a pretty nasty spill, probably hit his head at least once going down. Think there's a chance he might have a concussion?" Jacque asked no one in particular before he crouched and snapped his gloved fingers near Spinel's face to try and get his attention "Can you see straight? How many fingers am I holding up bud?" he asked before extending all but his ring and pinkie fingers.
