Brief Description:
The Decepticons are a group of Cybertronians, whose main goal was to bring about change on Cybertron due to the Caste system and return to the empire-building, space faring ways of their ancestors. The name "Decepticon" comes from the fact that pre-war propaganda by the High Council labeled them as liars and thieves. They took the name as a badge of honour instead. In their minds if speaking the truth was a deception, they were gladly guilty.

In the Great War, they were oppossed by the Autobots throughout Cybertron and the galaxy, however both sides would put aside their differences for mutual threats only to resume fighting later.

When they were transported to the new world, their goal became to gain control of it by any means necessary, and expand throughout the universe from there.

Short Bio:
Megatron was the former leader of all the Decepticons during the Great War on Cybertron. During the Golden Age on Cybertron, Megatron named himself Megatronus, named after one the Thirteen Megatronus Prime. Megatronus was a gladiator in the pits of Kaon, who grew ambitious and saw corruption within the caste system and sought to put an end to it, with his own rule. Megatron began talking with his old friend, Orion Pax, who became a mentor to him. After leaving the gladiatorial arena for the political one, Megatronus saw fit to shorten his name. When "Megatron" was rejected by the High Council, he waged war on Cybertron and left the planet wasted.

Abilities:
Can transform into a cybertronian jet, has extreme strength and combat experience, and complete control of Dark Energon.

Starscream

Short Bio:
Commander of the Energon Seekers, Cybertron's finest air warriors. His dream was to recover the Matrix of Leadership and become the Prime that would return the Transformers to the Golden Age, and he saw opportunity with the rebel upstart Megatron. A patient and polite schemer, Starscream used to wish Megatron would drop the heroic anti-caste charade and be more honest about his lust for power.

These days, he alternatively wishes Megatron would stop being obsessed with his lust for power and chafes under having to work for such a madman. While he serves as Megatron's right-hand man, he constantly looks for a way to become the commander himself and Megatron knows it: Starscream's extremely volatile personality means he is not adept at hiding his true intent. Fortunately for Megatron, Starscream is prone to panic, cowardice and bombastic gestures, meaning that it'd take exceptional circumstances for Starscream to actually manage to get behind him to shove the knife in.

Weapons & Abilities:
Starscream is able to transform into a jet that is similar to an F-16 and it is assumed that he is able to fly up to Mach 2 or greater. In robot form, he wields a missile launcher on each arm, and it can be assumed that he reloads them after use. His fingertips are razor-sharp and have been shown to puncture thick armor, (such as when he killed Cliffjumper). In order to fire the missiles, he bends his index finger.
Starscream has shown some military strategic ability, though not to the extent of Megatron's. Overall, his cowardly nature and his inability to inspire the Decepticon troops is what causes most of his plans to go awry. Furthermore, his backstabbing ways and plans of grandeur often overlook important details and potential consequences which usually come back to haunt him.

Short Bio:
Shockwave was a member of the scientist caste in the industrial city of Kaon. In a reversal of the usual order, he was swayed by the ambitions of the former mining caste member turned gladiator Megatron. Serving as Megatron's "pet mad scientist" and second-in-command, he saw to the fighter's armament during his rise to prominence, all the while fantasizing on the prospect of mass producing such warriors. Thankfully, Megatron's more practical nature reined in Shockwave as the movement which became the Decepticons finally moved out of the shadows.

Shockwave naturally only serves his one true master: logic. He's willing to ignore petty squabbles and jabs at him, and will only do what he finds logical. Megatron is pleased by his dedication and his competence stemming from it, starkly contrasting with the egotistical and gloating Starscream. His passive nature to goings-on around him may paint him as apathetic, but whoever believes that is writing their death warrant. Shockwave is as brutal and fierce as any Decepticon warrior, and has the strength and durability to withstand everything from explosions to Autobot assault. He does not take well to attempts on his life or his experiments failing or being tampered with. Primus help you if you actually do break his seemingly eternal calm.

Weapons & Abilities:
Shockwave is an accomplished scientist whose research and development projects have yielded powerful weapons and technology to the Decepticon cause, and indirectly to the Autobots and Cybertron itself. These include Project Predacon, the completion of the Synthetic Energon Formula, the Cortical Psychic Patch, the creation of cybermatter, and the restoration of the Omega Lock.

Though his main position is as Megatron's First Lieutenant in Scientific Endeavors, Shockwave is quite capable of holding his own in battle. His left arm, from the elbow down, is comprised of a powerful energy cannon, and his vehicle mode is that of a Cybertronian tank. He has been shown to hold off Bulkhead and Wheeljack , as well as go toe-to-toe with Ultra Magnus.

Short Bio:
Soundwave is the spy master of the Decepticons. One of Megatron's earliest followers, and, many believe, instrumental to his rise, he uses his tentacles and a veritable army of Minicon Deployers to learn everything there is to know about his allies and his enemies. He was never very chatty, but these days, on Earth, he's become near silent, communicating by playing back recordings of other people's conversations. He just sneaks about, patiently looking for Autobot transmissions and creeping certain Decepticons out. Since the incapacitation of Megatron, Soundwave acts as a restraint on Starscream, reining in his rather volatile emotions, and ensuring that Starscream's less than subtle ambitions are held in check.

Soundwave has the ability to receive transmissions from anywhere on the planet, bar the shielded Autobot Base (or anywhere else with serious protection). This allows him to spy on every being on the planet in the hopes of picking up Autobot-related communications or anything else of importance.

Weapons & Abilities:
Despite his thin and angular build, Soundwave proved to be a deceptively dangerous warrior, skilled in unarmed combat, as well as utilizing his tentacles to overcome his foes.

Soundwave was a gladiator in the arenas of Kaon and was the sole warrior who came closest to defeating Megatron in battle. He uses his slim arms as blades and to block attacks, as he did against Airachnid and Wheeljack. Soundwave can extend two tentacles from his sides, using them to fight or to hack computer terminals. They are shown to be very strong as they are capable of throwing around Autobots such as Wheeljack and Bulkhead. The tentacles are capable of shooting red lasers from them, generating electricity to zap opponents, and the claws at the end can rotate and be used as drills, as he did to escavate an Iacon relic.

Soundwave is a walking database, contained, as revealed in Minus One, in his hard drives, in which he stores vast amounts of data. He is capable of hacking computers, intercepting transmissions and communications, and monitoring communications on a planet-wide scale, all of which can be displayed on his visor.

Most commonly known, on Soundwave's chest he can deploy Laserbeak which is used for aerial battle or to stalk. Laserbeak also contains a full backup of Soundwave's information. So if Soundwave's information gets erased, he can reboot it all back via Laserbeak. Lately, it has been shown that Soundwave, possibly, has the ability to open Ground-Bridges anywhere, on or off the Nemesis.

Laserbeak is the only remainging minicon in Soundwave's asenal (all others are diseased). He is a bird-like cybertronian that Soundwave often sends out on various missions. Like Soundwave he is equipped with tentacles (albiet smaller one's) that he can use to grab hold of things and interact with the environment. He also can shoot out lasers at his opponents to eliminate them.

Short Bio:
Sure, other Decepticons may scoff at his decision to go with a land-based alternate mode, but Knock Out couldn't care less. He knows the value of looking good and isn't afraid to let others know it. It's not simply his own lines he's interested in; he has an appreciation for well-built mechanical bodyforms of all sizes and functions... and a nasty penchant for tearing them apart after he's done admiring them. Slick, sly and snobbish, he's the Decepticons' medic, though he professes both a preference and proficiency for dis-assembly. However, his medical skill has kept him in high demand; he's even performed vital and experimental surgeries on Megatron.

While not entirely a coward - he's taken on Optimus Prime by himself at least once! - Knock Out also knows a good thing or two about self-preservation. When the going gets tough, Knock Out gets going - the opposite direction. He has no qualms with abandoning ship if only to save his hide, even if it means betraying a comatose leader or deserting altogether. He doesn't get the most respect on the Nemesis, either. Show him some kindness, and hey, maybe he'll stick by your side.

Both in the operation room and on the battlefield, Knock Out typically works with his brutish partner Breakdown. Knock Out is the speedster of the duo, swiftly striking his victim's vulnerables with his Energon prod in debilitating sneak attacks while Breakdown goes the "massive smackdown" route with his raw power.

Weapons & Abilities:
Knock Out is a skilled racer. He is a competent scientist and doctor and surgeon, having successfully performed a t-cog transplant on Starscream, and an arm graft on Megatron. But he is, by his own admittance, better at breaking things, then fixing them. He carries at least one arm mounted drill and an arm mounted buzzsaw.

Other types of Vehicon

Tank

---

Decepticon heavyweight soldiers that can change into tanks. They have a hard shield around them that can withstand attacks until it is broken. Although they are powerful, they are very slow in combat.

Helicopter

The Decepticon snipers can change into helicopters. They are equipped with sniper rifle variants of the usual energy blasters that the vehicons carry, enabling them to do damage from a long distance. However, they are much weaker than most vehicons, and only can take a few shots before going down.

Truck

---

Vehicon trucks like to use the energon tanks stored on their back to power their jetpack. They use it to launch themselves at their opponents and try to slash them apart with their talon-like claws. The easiest way to defeat a vehicon truck, is to target the energon tanks on it's back, which will explode and kill it.

He also can be very ... odd. He has been known to cross dress, and various other things I dare not mention.
