I was hoping it would put her into some sort of temporary coma. Maybe because her body/ring is trying to rid itself of the corruption, and needs to focus all energy on that?

It seemed their plan was working, as soon as they got to the Autobot base, the Combaticons would kill the Autobots there, and take it for themselves. Blast Off knew they could make a communication device from the amount of wreckage, and the Energon from the Autobot bodies would help power it. There was no better way to summon Megatron, than on the backs of decapitated Autobots.

Anything (mostly transformers stuff though). In fact, during the war, Megatron infused it into the Core of cybertron. It's the reason it was shutting down, the reason they had to leave.

The red ring would probably protect her from it (as it shield users from all sorts of deadily hazard which allows them to fly into space without any side effects).

Dark Energon corrupts energon. If it could get access to the ring, it game over. But I think it would take a little bit to get over the side effects if it didnt get the ring.

FYI: (the plot going on right now from the Decepticons & my future strategy)
The Decepticons go under flag of truce, immediately neutralize Kara, and mow down a bunch of autobots. Then, after they are repelled, Prime tells the real story of Cybertron to the others (if it happens)
